Chapter 7
I had to fight now. I needed Serpent to stay away from Daniel. I was hurting, but I had to fight. I jumped up and body slammed Serpent. He body slammed me back. "You're so weak!" Serpent yelled.
"Oh, I didn't know I was supposed to go easy on you!" I yelled back. Serpent body slammed me again, and this time, I felt something in my side. I winced in pain. Serpent kept hitting me in the same spot, and I couldn't do anything. He eventually pushed me to the bottom.
"You're going easy on me?" he asked. I nodded. I saw Daniel swimming above us. Serpent saw me looking at something and turned to see what it was. Daniel was gone, but I used the chance to use my tail to slap him across the face. He slapped my on my face with his tail, and it hurt. I saw Serpent lock his teeth in my tail again. The pain was bad. He hit me against a rock, but didn't stop. He kept hitting me against the rock. Suddenly, a bunch of rocks fell on me.
I tried to get free, but I couldn't. Serpent swam up high, and got ready to swim down and hit me. Then, I saw Daniel try to hit Serpent with a spear. When it hit Serpent though, it broke. Serpent saw Daniel and hit him with his tail. Daniel was knocked unconscious. I screamed and got free. Serpent charged for me. He hit me, but I hit him back. I swam up and let Daniel rest on my nose. I started swimming up to shore. When I popped my head up, Serpent grabbed me and pulled me back down.
I tried to get free, but his grip on my tail was tight. I didn't understand why he always bit my tail, but I understood that I had to save Daniel. "Chain, why don't you just be my girlfriend?" asked Serpent. I didn't like he brought up that silly name.
"Never!" I shouted. I burst free and let Daniel get some air. I headed towards the shore, but Serpent body slammed me. Daniel came off my nose and started to sink again. "No!" I shouted. My body slammed Serpent and dove down to save Daniel. Serpent didn't chase me, but then I realized why. Fishermen were throwing stuff at him.
I managed to get Daniel on my nose again. I swam as fast as I could up to the shore. Daniel wasn't looking good. My whole body ached and hurt. Serpent roared at me, but the fishermen were hitting him, so he was busy. Suddenly, rain poured down on us. Lightning flashed. I realized why-Serpent was controlling it. I roared and it starting snowing. Huh. It went from pouring to snowing, snowing to pouring, over and over, I saw Daniel shivering, so I just let it pour. I heard Serpent roar, I heard my own heart beat, and I heard a little voice in my head going, "Just a little further."
