{ The part where you see second side of a coin }

She wished it was a dream. A dream she wouldn't like to wake up from. A lounge sofa might not be ideal for two, but she had no complaints, not when they were wrapped as one. He held her from behind, his strong arms curled around her, his face buried into the side of her neck. His warm breath teased her skin. He felt like a cozy home, driving away every cold chill she ever felt …and everything was just perfect.

“Hey,” Sanskaar murmured lazily, kissing her ear “We are getting late”

What wouldn't he give away to hold her like this for eternity? Never once in his life had he felt such content. Never once, had he felt his heart swell with such an unnamed emotion … but it was time for the dream to end. They were already away for a few hours. He didn't want to raise an unnecessary alarm.

Swara stirred and murmured in protest. She didn't want to go and wished she never had to, but she was aware of the impending reality. This moment has to end.

“I am scared,”  She said, pulling his hands closer. What if she opens her eyes and everything vanishes and she would be standing all alone, again? Yes, she was used to living  a loner’s life, but coming so close to having something so perfect, feeling loved and desired by the one she set her heart on…and then…

Her every thought ceased at his touch. Sanskaar cradled her face and gently tipped her chin, turning to face him. Her eyes closed, a few loose tendrils of hair dancing over her face, her cheeks a lovely shade of red, she looked like a painter's dream, so lovely that he couldn't take his eyes off.

“Look at me, Swara,” he said softly. Swara opened her eyes slowly to meet his solemn gaze.  Her eyes could never hide a thing. How could he forget how smitten he was by her beautiful eyes right from their first meet when she gazed at him through those lashes? Now they spelled questions and fears.

“What if this is a dream? ”she touched his cheek.

Sanskaar leaned forward “This is no dream.” His lips traced hers with a breathy whisper.

 “This is us”

----------

Annapurna looked at the clock striking 11.00. It's been 3 hours since Sanskaar’s call yet no trace of them. She wasn't new to the long working hours of Sanskaar. There are times when he spent nights in the office, but her reason for concern this time was: He was with Swara.

Right from the time she had seen Sanskaar sneak out of Swara’s room, some uneasy feeling nagged her. Sanskaar and Swara might have admitted their liking to each other, but she was sure they had a long way to go. They hardly know each other.

If she hadn't been witness to the exchange that morning near the breakfast table , how impervious both looked to surroundings, and how drawn to each other. It didn't take much time for her experienced eyes to sense tension brewing between them... And it was alarming

How much ever she was in favor of this prospective match, she didn’t want any boundaries to be crossed. She might have changed her outlook to modern times, yet there are few rules that are meant to be adhered to.

And she wished they would.

--------------

Sanskaar didn't want to stop kissing, not when Swara was responding to him so sweetly. One last time before the night ends he told himself .. to savor her taste, to cradle into her heat. One followed another. More soft and slow kisses…midst mingled breaths and sighs as their hands moved over each other with a budding heated desire …

Before he could get more greedy, Sanskaar pulled back unwillingly catching up on his breath, letting her have a few minutes for herself.

“We should get dressed,” He said softly, loosening his hold around her. Swara nodded in silence.

----

Swara stepped out of the rest room changing back to her usual jeans and kurta she donned in the morning. Her eyes caught sight of Sanskaar buttoning his shirt up

She still found it hard to believe, but he finally came around and confessed his feelings for her and they ran so deep. She never ever in her wildest dreams would have imagined Sanskaar desired her so much. Their passionate interlude sometime back left no doubts about it. She wasn't aware, she could feel such heightened pleasure and emotions all at once and he stirred something so deep in her… it seemed impossible to fall back to her earlier self.

What was it for him, she wondered.  What do people do after they share such intimate moments? It felt so natural in his arms and now  … Can she simply walk and hug him? What could she talk to him about?

And ...what if he retreated back to his shell.

Sanskaar turned back and caught Swara staring at him hesitantly. She stood a few feet away, her hair brushed neatly and with a little fix of makeup, she looked all perfect but she couldn’t hide the afterglow.

True, they didn't make love but their moments were highly intimate. First for him and her and it was overwhelming in many ways.  He finally let go of all his inhibitions and gave in to his feelings…and totally spiralled out of control. But from now, he is gonna take it slow.

He smiled.

----

Was it her heart that rolled gently at his smile? Why did he have this effect on her, like some magic spell? There was something about him, midst all the steely determination, and fire she craved for … there was something else.  A boyish charm that could put you at ease when he chose to smile.

Carefree, Relaxed, and vulnerable

Her heart picked its beat with each step. Even in a dimly lit cabin, She could read his face. He stood before her handsomely as always. And she wished she got past the tough exterior of Sanskaar Maheswari … a little.

That little mussed hair offered him a cute look,  Swara thought and she smiled within, recalling how her hands were all over him and how much her fingers loved tangling in his hair.

“How do I look?” Swara asked, hoping to fix anything that would give her away.

Sanskaar gave her a lazy grin … running a finger over her cheek felt that little gasp. Her eyes fluttered, she looked up at him and he couldn't help but long for one more moment of ‘them.

His hand cupped her face gently and her lips parted with a breathy gasp as he touched hers.

“Exactly the way you should look, Swara.” He paused for a breath reading her eyes, ” Ravished”

And his lips seized hers for a kiss, that she would remember for a long time.
------------

Annapurna couldn't sleep that night. They came in almost close to midnight and something was different. Something changed. She couldn’t brush off her instinct when Swara seemed hesitant to meet her eyes and retired to her room rather quickly.

“Maa, I told you not to wait, Aap nahi sunoge “ Sanskaar gave her a quick hug and it was Swara written all over him. The perfume couldn't be missed.

“I hope your issues are sorted, “ She remarked and noted the change in his stance.  All Sanskaar did was nod and slip off wishing a good night. And she had her answers.

Annapurna Maheswari decided it is time to have a much-needed talk.
