Nexus slowly blinked his eyes as he looked around his surroundings. It was dark and fog-like clouds surrounded him. He frowns in confusion before trying to get to his feet. The last thing he could remember was Monty ripping into his mind, blinding him with pain. Gasping Nexus, patted himself down, "i-i'm ok? How?" Shifting his feet, he notices that he was in a weird glowing, slimy puddle that felt like moving through molasses.

He gags and attempts to get out of the slime when arms raised up out of the slime and started to grab at him. "What the heck?!" He cries out as he tries to evade the hands. But one manages to wrap around his ankle and starts to drag him down into the puddle. He yelps and continues to struggle to get away, feeling weaker as more hands grab onto him. As he struggled his body glitched and changed. His fingers became gray-purple claws, his hands fusing with his wrists and bulked out into a light purple color. His body became less metallic and his thighs bulk out and his feet elongated as claws split from where his toes would be.

After what feels like eternity, Nexus's struggles start to wane. His legs half submerged in the sticky glowing tar, several of the hands wrapped around his body. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots what looks like a floating screen. He gazes into it and sees what looks like the outside world through someone else's eyes. He gasps upon seeing what looks like Sun and the original Moon staring at him in horror as his own voice yells at Sun to make a choice between Nexus and the original Moon.

Upon seeing Sun, his older brother, being threatened by this unknown, Nexus growls and strengthens his struggles and resolve. But that split second he had looked away from the screen he heard Sun shout, "NO, YOU'RE NOT! SHUT UP!" Golden flames sparked to life and surrounds Nexus. He cries out in shock as the flames roared and burned away the tar like hands gripping on nexus.

Seeing his chance he lunges, breaking free of the burning tar. Panting he glances around and sees that his entire mindscape and even his possessed body were burning. Frantic, he looks to try to find a way out of this nightmare. Upon seeing what looked like a digital tear, he races towards the unknown with the fire licking his heels. With the last of his strength he dives into the tear, the tether connecting him to his burning past life snapping as the tear closes behind him. Feeling the harsh snap of his tether, he passes out.
