"Georgia planned the whole thing for us," started Owen as he walked into Hector's house. He'd called over his best friend's mum from the open kitchen window and barged inside without stating why he was coming. He didn't need to since Clare Johnson, Hector's mother, didn't expect it anyways. Her son and his best friend have been inseparable since primary school.
"Is Georgia coming over?"
Owen ignored Hector's mother's question and how she knew who Georgia was. Leave Hector to tell his mum everything. "Where's Hector?"
Clare rolled her eyes. "Upstairs. Don't leave food everywhere when you leave."
Owen took two steps at a time, reaching Hector's room in no time. Barging in, Owen found Hector sitting at his desk going through his phone, but the laptop in front also open to a word document. "Whatcha' do-ing?"
Hector's eyes flickered up to meet his friend's, watching him make himself comfortable in his bed. "Nothing. What're you doing?"
Owen rolled around the mattress, looking as comfortable as ever. "Nothing. What's the Word opened for?"
Hector finally placed his focus to his laptop. "Unlike you, I actually care about the classes at school. If you want to get out on the first attempt, I advice that you should too."
Owen didn't know which homework Hector was talking about. "Okay, okay, you can help me out later. Please?" He begged, dragging the word out which his 'puppy eyes'.
"No."
Owen ignored his best friend, continuing to behave like a child, or more like a puppy on the bed. He loved how comfortable Hector's bed tends to be. "Georgia talked to me on the way back home."
Hector didn't want to hear it. He didn't want Owen and Georgia to be in the same atmosphere. He hated it. But he didn't say anything.
"She asked where we're going to have our first date. I asked her when she wanted it to be." Owen continued to roll around, rubbing his face on Hector's pillow. It smelled good and it made Owen wonder why it sounded weird to admit it in his mind. "She said this Sunday. I have to plan something now..."
Hector let the words fly by his ears, barely noticing the time pass. He went back to scrolling on Instagram, watching videos of dogs wondering if he should get one. But they do cost a lot.
"Hector!"
The guy hummed, barely addressing his friend.
"You're so mean!" Owen was whining like a child all of a sudden. "Were you even listening?!"
"No."
Hector's mind suddenly went to how aroused he'd been with Owen on his lap.
Then his mind jumped to watch Owen so comfortable in the bed he slept on.
Hector thought of how electric it would be if he was there with him, arms around the other, pulling him close, his lower body pressed to his back, the bed swallowing them through comfort. His heart soring inside.
Hector's cock stirred at just the thought and that made him jump from his chair.
Owen stopped complaining on whatever, confused on why suddenly Hector had stood up. "What happened?"
His best friend only cleared his throat, leaving the room. The confused Owen followed behind, calling out his name, but Hector didn't give a care.
"Jesus Hector, stop acting like you've been possessed."
Hector snorted. Possessed. Yeah, that's the only thing he could hope on for what he was feeling. Hector thought to himself, only god can grant such precious excuse.
"You asked about my secret diet for my skin, right?"
That got Owen to forgot inquiring him and follow him behind, into the kitchen. "Oh, yeah! Show me, show me, show me!"
Hector smiled to himself, happy that his best friend was being so childish. It meant that Owen was comfortable with him. Hector loved that Owen was comfortable with him. Focusing on the work at hand, he automatically reached for the mangos, starting to prepare the work station. Owen quickly understood the work that needs to be done and helped Hector peel and cut the fruits. Once that was done, Hector was setting the blender up while he told Owen to grab the salt and ice cream.
Sprinkling just a small amount of salt, Hector placed the blender together. Before he could tell Owen the next step, the shorter one weaved under Hector's arms, squeezing into the small space of him and the countertop. Hector didn't let go of the equipment because it would fall otherwise. But that also meant that he had Owen's back pressed up against his front.
Once again.
"W-what are you doing!"
Owen tsked the guy and continued to scope large scopes of ice cream and dump it into the mixer. "I know you won't let me add extra scopes so I'm doing it before you stop me."
Hector waited, since there wasn't any else to do. If he moves, the mixer will fall, and break, and mostly the content will spill, and the whole area would become a disaster.
Maybe it was so he could enjoy the warmth of Owen. But that thought is going to never be addressed out loud.
"All done!" As soon as Owen claimed his accomplishment, he twisted around, startled to find Hector's face so close to his. "Woah."
They were inches apart, a flinch and their bodies will touch. Owen only had to tilt a bit to look up at his best friend's eyes.
Wow, Owen thought. His eyes are so beautiful.
Owen's mind snapped back to reality when he realized what he'd thought of. "Whoops, Sorry Hec."
He tried to push past his arms but Hector remained stiff. Owen's heartrate picked up, concluding that Hector was acting weird and they're too close and he knew that Hector was suddenly going to ruin their friendship and kiss him or something.
Hector's words placed Owen back onto his feet and feel completely silly for the outrageous thoughts.
"I can't move my arms. Duck under it, you doofus, or it'll slip."
Squeaking almost, Owen ran away from him, watching Hector set the blender up and starting the process. The sound of the equipment blocked away the ringing of the silence. Owen watched the back of his best friend, waiting for him to turn around and have an awkward eye contact as awkward as he felt.
But Hector's eyes remain to his front, carefully watching the smoothie come to its form. Only when it finished did he turn around, placing it near Owen to grab a few utensils. He shared the food, moving one in front of him.
"Eat." Hector stuffed his mouth with the deliciousness. "This is what I have everyday."
Owen could only hum, slowly going back to his usual self, realizing that he was being a baby for reacting that way and nothing was wrong between his best friend and him after all.
