I didn't Even Know

Author's Note: Originally, I had the idea of submitting a Masked part today, but I feel like I'll do it another time. Anyways, not much happens in this part, but we're getting close to the end of the story now.

I thought it was going to be shorter, but then I kept getting ideas or the story part was getting incredibly long.

 Ah well.

 Enjoy!

 Scar's POV:

I reached the portal and quickly stepped through to the other side. Luckily for me, portals to other words are way faster than simply going to the Nether.

When I stood on the other side, I froze and looked up towards the castle on the hill. There was a gigantic beam of orange light shooting out of the front lawn.

A bunch of houses were dark, but I could occasionally see movement within them. Soon, I noticed a pair of red, glowing eyes staring down at me.

" H-Hey!" A male's voice came from the sky as an umbrella and a person with slightly orange hair slowly poked through a cracked open window. The man's long ears twitched as he frowned, " Are you here to try and help stop the shapeshifting goddess?" he questioned as he adjusted his umbrella.

I nodded, " Y-Yes?" I looked back towards the orange light. The man, who I now figured was a vampire, let out a shaky sigh, " L-Look... Don't let her absorb Mighty's and the injured man's powers... If she gets those, she'll be nearly unstoppable..." he gulped.

I was about to leave but there was something bugging me, " Why aren't you going to help?" I questioned as the vampire froze slightly.

" I-I'm trying to figure out a way to strip her newfound powers away... My brother and I were in the middle of it but things went sour... real fast." The vampire lowered his shoulders.

Honestly, I didn't want to pry any further, " W-Well, will you come help when you find something?" I questioned as the man nodded, " Of course! This is my home after all. I'd be pouring more into this research stuff, but I'm not much of a reader... 'specially in this kinda light..." he sighed as he left the window and closed it afterwards.

After that conversation, I looked back towards the hole in the ground. It was no longer glowing a bright orange. Now, instead, it was glowing a pale blue and dark purple color that was quickly clashed with a rather aggressive red.

Void, Mighty, and... I narrowed my eyes.

Why was there a purple light?

 I shook my head.

No, no, my wonderings aren't important right now!

Quickly and carefully, I hurried up the hill while getting my elytra reequipped. When I reached the pit, I looked down into the hole that seemed to stretch for miles underground.

 I blinked.

I was on a floating island.

How does this hole not reach the bottom??

I shook my head again as my legs grew slightly weaker. No... No... I can't get distracted... The sheer power emanating from this hole will drain the magic straight from me if I'm not focused.

I narrowed my eyes with a growl.

 Okay, let's do this...

With a deep breath and a shake of my arms, I dove into the hole with my elytra out; Carefully, I glided down into the pit as it slowly grew darker...

 and darker...

 and darker...

 and darker...

Until, Until I reached a dark room that was barely illuminated by a weakening fire.

Silently, I opened my inventory and brought out one of my illumination crystals. Slowly, a dim light began to surround me and revealed the room:

 A tattered library.

I guess this was where the vampire and his brother were before things went... terribly wrong. I shuddered slightly as I looked at some of the fallen supports. I was about to investigate further, but a loud, angered roar came from behind me and in the hall.

I turned around as Void came running in with a stranger on his back. The stranger had wings; one damaged to the point it was just some muscle and bone on a structure, and the other was black and a deep purple.

" U-Uh, who's that?" I questioned as Void shook his head, " Not the time, Scar. We need to fly outta here." he narrowed his buggy eyes as he slowly shifted the man to his front. The stranger twitched slightly as he groaned weakly.

" What about Mighty?" I questioned as Void shook his head, " Mighty's distracting that cat lady. Besides, she knows this world better than we do. I bet we can get away." he looked behind himself slightly then shook his head.

Void looked up towards the hole, " We need to leave. Now." he urgently spoke as I nodded. Quickly, the three of us fly out of the hole and back up to the grassy hill on the floating island.

When we reached the top and landed, Void and I looked at each other than glanced back down towards the hole we came out of. Void's antenna twitched as his jaw clenched up, " I can hear them down there." he whispered.

I looked up towards Void, " You can?" I raised an eyebrow as Void nodded, " I have real good hearing now." he muttered causing me to nod. I looked back towards the hole as an icy blue light came from the bottom.

" I'm going back to Hermitcraft in order to keep our friend here safe."

" Are you sure its safe though? This... cat lady can simply open a portal to Hermitcraft with a simple swipe from her claws." I told him as Void made a loud buzz of confusion.

" Wait she can do wha- "

 BOOM!

The ground shifted below me and my magical braces weakened causing my legs to buckle. With a sharp yelp, I fell onto my butt.

I looked towards the portal as a blinding orange shot out of the hole as dark clouds started to form in the sky.

Void looked towards the sky, " What the hell...?" he questioned as his wings started to buzz in anticipation of escape.

Blinking multiple times, I looked around and pointed towards the holes that appeared in midair next to the hole in the ground. The holes soon widened into claw marks as a portal ripped it the rest of the way open.

Slowly, and menacingly, the cat woman slowly walked out of the portal with her entire body glowing ominously. I looked down at my leg braces and tried to use my magic in order to reactivate them.

 No luck....

 I... I don't even have my wheelchair.

Yet, I still have my magic, and I don't think the cat woman knows this.

I looked up towards the cat woman as the portal closed behind her as she just barely managed to drag an unconscious, very scratched up Mighty behind her. Speaking of Mighty, she was incredibly pale and twitching slightly as strange crackles came from the hybrid's body.

Mighty's ears twitched as the hybrid's eyes slowly opened. The cat woman looked down at Mighty and sneered, " So, you're not unconscious, after all?"

The hybrid slowly narrowed her eyes and hissed, " N-No, I'm not.... P-Pa... Pa...." Mighty's eyes glowed slightly as her eyes began to close and some fur grew around her neck. The woman hissed, " To think, I was going to commend you."

The woman looked towards me and tossed Mighty's changing form towards me. Luckily, when she reached me, I managed to catch the small fuzzball before she could be broken anymore than she already was.

Slowly, I slipped Mighty into my bag and gently closed it; she'll be safe in there, I'm telling myself.

" Ya know, it's really rude to just throw people." I grumbled as the woman stared at me, " I could've lit her on fire or turned her to stone...." she hissed as she looked up towards Void and the stranger.

The woman's tail thrashed, " Now, if you would be so kind insect, I would like to take that bird from you." she growled as she stretched both of her clawed hands out.

Void stared at the woman; he tilted his head slightly as his wings buzzed every more. The hybrid grinned slightly as he nodded at me.

 Why is he-?

 OH!

I looked at my hand and narrowed my eyes in focus. Slowly, a green and purple flame appeared in my hand as I smiled.

Sharply, I thrusted my hand towards the cat woman and-

 BAM!

The fire engulfed her and her body was thrown to the side and away from the four of us. I grinned.

 " I didn't even know I could do that..."
