Chapter Twenty-Eight

I was kissing Nathanial Philips.

The sweet, charming boy I had met years ago in that cafeteria. My best friend.

God, he kissed so damn well. Why did this take so long? Right - because I knew that the moment this happened, there was no going back. I was and always have been in love with him and this wrapped the bow on top.

His lips slid perfectly with mine as they pressed against each others. I moaned as I took in his faint cologne. He smelt so delicious.

I opened my mouth to invite him to enter and I felt my body ignite the moment his tongue passed over mine. We fought for dominance as I backed him up into the kitchen island that I knew wasn't too far away from where we were standing.

Nathanial threw his head back, gasping for air and I took my chance to kiss, lick and bite at his neck.

"You wore this for me tonight, didn't you?" I groaned into his neck. I tugged on his shirt to pull him closer to me. Both of our thighs intertwined with each others.

"I'm not telling you anything." He chuckled. I bit lightly at his Adams apple as it bobbed up and down.

He grabbed ahold of my hair pulling me back up to his lips.

Don't mind if I do.

We kissed intensely for god knows how long. I could stay here forever. My hands travelling up his shirt and feeling his soft, rigid skin.

"We shouldn't" he breathed, parting his lips from me just enough.

"Oh, but we so should." I panted, looking down at his now puffy and bruised lips.

"You have a show." He smiled, both our foreheads leaning on each others.

"Oh fuck!" I laughed, turning to the door. "I honestly forgot."

"Mmm" Nathanial leaned in kissing me slowly this time. "We also have to talk."

I closed my eyes and breathed. I don't want this to end. I'm not finished here. I don't think I ever will be.

"Okay, let's talk after the show. Leave with me. Come to my apartment - Tony won't be home tonight." I bit my lip, pulling his waist into mine by the sides of his hips.

"Fine." He smiled.

"Fine." I repeated. I pecked him quickly before turning towards the door. "I'll be looking forward to that talk." I called out, leaving him in Sarah's apartment.

I couldn't help but smile all the way back to the rooftop.

I kissed Nathanial Phillips.

The rest of the night went by like I was in a drunken haze. For only having one drink, I felt high on life.

I stared across the patio at Nathanial as he talked to Sarah and his friend Marcus.

I gripped the microphone in my hand as I belted out the last note of this song. I love performing but I couldn't get done quicker.

I watched as he threw his head back and laughed. His straight golden brown hair shifting back. I wanted to run my hands through his hair tonight so him not wearing his backwards hat was making it way too easy to imagine.

"Thanks for coming out tonight! Follow us on Instagram and Tiktok @Airheads! Good night and we love you!" I shouted into the mic.

Everyone cheered and clapped their hands. I looked over to see Nathanial and Sarah both clapping hard and shouting the loudest. I couldn't have a more full heart.

Tony and my other bandmates came up beside me smiling, laughing and patting me on the back.

"I'm going to need you to stay at Richard's tonight." I winked at Tony.

He dropped his hand and groaned. "But his girlfriend scares me."

I put my hand on his shoulder bringing him back in. "Would you rather stay home and listen to me getting fucked in the ass by that dude over there?" I tilted my head in Nathanial's direction.

Tony's eyes went wide and followed my stare.

"Wait... you're the bottom?"

I laughed. "I damn hope so. But I'm not opposed to switching."

He cringed at my words and shook out of my grasp. "Ugh, okay. I'm out." He agreed. He handed my his leather sports jacket and I nodded in thanks.

He pointed to Richard. "You better lock up your dog and your girlfriend tonight. I don't want to wake up to either licking my face in the morning."

I shook my head and made my way to the edge of the party. Everyone was still chattering away and swaying to the music that was now taking over a nearby speaker. I searched through the crowd, with only one thing on my mind.

Getting to one person and taking him home to finish what we started.

"That was amazing!" Sarah's voice broke through the crowd as she ran up to me, throwing her arms around my neck.

"Thanks, beautiful." I squeezed my arms around her, relishing in the hug before my eyes darted open, scanning for who was standing behind her.

There stood Nathanial and Marcus beside each other. Marcus leaned in to whisper something to Nathanial. I tried not to take notice to his hand placement on his lower back.

"Sarah, the guys are heading out. Want to introduce me to that marketing manager you know?" Marcus stepped forward and nudged Sarah in her shoulder.

"Oh right! That marketing guy. He's around here somewhere." She pretended to look around. I rolled my eyes and shaked mt head. These two were bad actors. Nathanial and I exchanged a glance and smiled. We obviously were thinking the same thing.

"Night, you two. I'll message you both later... Or maybe tomorrow." Sarah winked at both of us, before linking her arms with Marcus and walking away.

Nathanial and I closed the space between us until we were only a step apart.

"Looks like you just lost your ride home," I smirked, staring at his beautiful lips. I can't wait to kiss them again, but I'm not sure how he feels about PDA.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. You don't mind giving me a ride..." His mouth quivered before slipping into a shy smile.

This guy will be the death of me.

I bit my lip. "I can't get you home fast enough. Let's get out of here." I tugged on his arm to pull him in the direction of the exit of the roof patio.

"Wait." He stopped in his tracks.

"What's wrong?" I felt myself start to panic. Was he backing out? Was he not prepared to give me another chance? Did I really lose him?

Before another step, he closed the distance completely and pressed his lips against mine softly.

In front of everyone.

His warm lips caressed my own and I felt myself melt into him, pulling him closer. I almost moaned out loud.

"Nathanial," I whispered as we pulled apart to break for air.

Now that we've crossed this line, I never want to stop. I want to kiss him for as long as I possibly can.

"I wanted you to know. There's no running from my end. I want this." His jaw clenched as he pushed me towards the door.

I stumbled as I took in his words. He wasn't mad, he just didn't want me to leave again.

I nodded my head and kept walking. He followed me down the stairwell until we reached the main lobby.

Walking out, I grabbed his hand in my own and steered him to a nearby alleyway.

"Over here." I tilted my head.

Nathanial's eyes went wide as he took in what I was leading him to.

"Oh, no way." He said backing up.

I rode my bike over here with Tony so thankfully I had another helmet. There'd be no way I was letting Nathanial get on my bike without proper protection. He's too special.

"Here" I pushed Tony's leather jacket and the second helmet into Nathanials chest.

I threw my leg over my Yamaha R7 and leaned over, grabbing my helmet and fitting it over my head.

"Caleb. You drive this?" Nathanial asked looking over my bike. It's a sight to see.

"Yep. And if you shut up and get on, it won't be the only thing I'll be riding tonight." I snapped my visor shut and started up the engine.

Nathanials eyes were wide but he scurried over all the same.

"I trust you." He said before putting the helmet over his head and climbing aboard.

It felt so good hearing those words from him.

I peeled out of the alley and started on the way. It was only a 20-minute drive from Sarah's back to my place. Excitement ran through my body the whole was as I thought about who held on to me, clutched around my thighs.

Nathanial Philips kissed me tonight. And I hope we do so much more.
