Meanwhile...

Phillip: "Ah yes, the fine arts of pillows."

The last group of heroes is just coming out of a large store carrying dozens of small blankets, cheap pillows, a butane burner, a large pot, several large containers, and some extra canisters of butane.

Denton: "Simple, yet useful."

Alexis: "But I wish we could've gotten a little bit better stuff."

Jeremy: "You've got to live with what you get."

Samuel: "At least it's better than rocks and dirt."

Alexis: "Fair enough."

However...

Denton: "Are you fucking kidding me?"

As they make a corner, they bum into fifteen soldier with miniguns and grenade launchers.

Soldier 1: "(awkwardly) Uh..."

The heroes set their items down and ready for combat.

Denton: "I'm feeling pretty cool today."

Denton equips himself in a heavier suit of armor holding a large cannon giving off a strange mist.

Jeremy: "(awkwardly) Is it bad to know that I get it?"

A wind begins to blow.

Samuel: "Let's wrap this up real quick!"

Jeremy equips his Relay Gear.

Jeremy: "Just don't put me on healing duty."

The soldiers aim at the heroes.

Phillip: "I don't think that you're safe from healing.

Jeremy: "(awkwardly) Fuck..."

They begin fighting with a bang.

Meanwhile...

The bulky male and his chunky counterpart are sitting up against a shaded wall.

Bulky Male: "(exhausted) How're you doing Robert?"

Robert's stomach growls out of control.

Robert: "(hungry) I'm so hungry Cole."

Cole: "(exhausted) Since when are you not hungry?"

They hear an explosion go off.

Robert: "(hungry) I can't move."

Cole stands up and hoists Robert to his feet.

Cole: "You have to move! Who knows what's going on?!"

Robert: "(groaning) I'll try."

They head towards the sounds of battle.

Meanwhile...

The shark looking male is currently on the verge of collapsing on the edge of a bridge overlooking a river.

Shark: "(exhausted) Water..."

He hears an explosion.

Shark: "(exhausted) First..."

He pulls himself over the railing.

Shark: "(exhausted) To get my strength..."

He falls into the water.

Shark: "... back!"

Only after a few seconds, his strength returns to him.

Shark: "Now to head over!"

A dark blue aura surrounds him as he dives into the riverbank, fazing right through it and seemingly swimming right through the matter.

Meanwhile...

Denton: "(yelling) Anime is supreme!"

Denton counters any grenades thrown at him with ice while the others weave through minigun bullets.

Phillip: "Reckless!"

Phillip has altered three of their enemies emotional states.

Alexis: "I can't keep this up!"

Alexis is starting to lose speed.

Jeremy: "Focus Wave!"

Jeremy kills two minigun soldiers with a single Focus Wave.

Soldier 2: "Take him out!"

They open fire on Jeremy.

Denton: "Hold on!"

Denton fires ice a meter in front of Jeremy,creating an ice wall just durable enough for him to get away.

Phillip: "I don't think that we're going to get through this without a miracle."

Jeremy: "Funny you should say that. Miracles are my specialty."

Soldier 3: "Attack!"

Alexis falls onto her knees.

Samuel: "Alexis!"

Alexis: "(exhausted) I... can't keep... up."

She rests on the ground.

Denton: "Seriously?!"

The grenades head for Alexis.

Jeremy: "Quick!"

Denton is moving as fast as he can to defend Alexis.

Denton: "I won't make it!"

??? 1: "Maybe we will?"

Two massive walls of ice suddenly form in front of Alexis, shielding her from the attack.

Denton: "Robert and Cole?!"

Denton turns to behind to see that exact pair standing by in their avatars. Cole wielding a cannon and Robert with a sapphire sheild.

Phillip: "Huh?"

A grenade heads for Phillip.

??? 2: "M-Move!"

The shark boy leaps out of the ground and pushes both him and Phillip out of the attack.

Phillip: "You're... Makoh, right?"

Makoh: "H-How do you know my name?!"

A rainbow aura surrounds Makoh as a binary aura surrounds Robert and Cole.

Robert: "(groaning) I'm so hungry."

Denton: "Had a feeling."

Cole: "How? We've never met."

Jeremy picks up Alexis.

Jeremy: "I'll take care of her injuries! Wrap this up!"

Jeremy darts behind the corner.

Denton: "Fight now, explain later. Deal?"

Cole: "Deal."

The aura glows bright.

Denton, Robert, and Cole: "Synergy Attack..."

Snow forms around the their weapons.

Denton: "... Internal..."

Robert encases half of the soldiers in a ball of ice while freezing the interior as well.

Robert: "... Glacier..."

Denton and Cole fire their weapons towards the center of the ball.

Cole: "... Breakdown!"

Nothing happens for a moment.

Denton: "The cold whispers call you."

The Japanese kanji for ice flashes before the ball explodes and melts in glorious fashion.

Phillip: "Put everything you've got into it!"

A mix of the rainbow and dark blue auras surround the two.

Makoh: "O-Okay."

They both dive into the ground.

Phillip/ Makoh: "Synergy Attack..."

They begin yanking the remaining soldiers into the ground as they desperately shoot at the ground.

Phillip/ Makoh: "... Trust Synchronization!"

All of the soldiers are trapped within the ground, forever as the two jump out.

Makoh: "H-How was that?"

Phillip: "I'd give it a uh..."

Alexis: "A for awesome!"

Alexis is back on her feet, but Jeremy is nearly drained.

Jeremy: "(exhausted) I can't feel my legs."

Jeremy is about to fall, but Makoh helps him up.

Makoh: "Y-You okay?"

Everyone takes off their gear.

Denton: "Ah, it always feels great to pull something off like that."

Robert's stomach is like a tidal wave.

Robert: "(groaning) Food..."

Makoh puts Jeremy over his shoulder.

Makoh: "So... why were you wearing those clothes?"

Phillip, Alexis, Denton, and Cole pick up the containers.

Phillip: "It's extremely complicated."

Denton: "But we'll try our best to put two and two together for you."

They set off for the base...
