Control
So it took a few weeks for me to get enough courage to go back to the house. I mean... I had been spending a lot of time in all those alternate universes with Error. And I thought I had pretty good control of myself each time I had gone back to sleep. I had even started to make friends with some of the monsters in alternate universes. I met this one Sans, who insisted I call him Ink, and he was friends with Error. Ink even helped me fix my soul with his (odd) painting magic, which Error wasn't to happy about at first, but I was ecstatic. I guess Errors plans had kinda shifted over time, from killing my brothers to meeting them, since I'm always telling him all about them. He also ditched the Soul suckers in the deepest part of the void, so... I mean... People can change I guess. I even learned how to make soul strings from Error, and we both started controlling Undyne's and Alphys's from various dimensions and have made them very happy couples. And Ink comes to the void every so often and teaches me something new about my powers everyday. And the even better news is that soon they'll both be able to come to this timeline and help us get back to our original timeline. So at this point, the nightmares have kinda faded. But I really do miss my brothers.
I woke up from one of the dreams one day and rushed to the mirror of the tree house. My face was healed all except for a few gashes that had scabbed over. But that was an easy fix. Ever since Ink taught me how to heal myself. You see my eyes glow two different colors for a reason, as Ink told me. One eye is for when I need to defend myself. That's the blue eye that all the Sans have. They only use it if they are threatened. The other, my orange eye, is a healing eye. All Papyrus's have that power, which is why most of their attacks are... As Ink put it "limited". And when you mix both powers together, like Ink had, there are endless possibilities for the things you can do. Even taming my Gaster Blasters was easier when I knew what they were composed of. I quickly healed my face and took a look at my soul. It was good as new. My soul has a very unique hue. It's striped orange and blue. It's weird but I've learned to live it. After that I looked out the window. The mountains were still as snowy as ever so that was good. I teleported from the tree house to the trail and explored a bit. It felt like ages since I had been outside of the void. I teleported to the top of a rock structure and looked down on the land. Wow. I never really noticed how beautiful the mountains were until that moment. I guess being in an endless white void and not knowing how long you've been there will do that to you. I smiled and teleported down from the rock structure. Then I walked. Not fast. I wanted to take the time to appreciate everything that I had taken for granted before. Then I heard someone.
"Cappy!" Yelled a voice I recognized.
"Capri!" Called another.
"CAPPY! Where are you!"
I followed the voices, quietly and when I had gotten close enough I hid behind a tree.
"It's no use. She's been gone for a week now."
So that's how long I was gone. Jeez, it seemed like years.
"Sans! I'm surprised at you! We can't give up on our sister!"
"Papyrus, she obviously wanted to be left alone!" Sans yelled. That made me feel bad. I was only trying to protect them. Was that a bad move? I teleported closer.
"I refuse to believe she left us out of spite, brother! Cappy would never do that." Papyrus reasoned.
"Well people change, bro." Sans reasoned. I saw Papyrus look at his brother and then turn and cup his hands over his mouth.
"CAPPY!" Papyrus called. 'Ooh. Rejected by your own brother. That's gotta sting.' I thought. I teleported back a little ways and started walking towards Papyrus's shouting. "CAPPY! PLEASE COME HOME!" Papyrus shouted. I sped up a bit. Man I really screwed this up. "CAPPY!" I started to run. "CAPPY" I started to sprint.
"Give it up Papyrus. She's not coming back." Sans announced, and turned on his heals. I started panting. But I guess Papyrus heard my footsteps coming around the corner because he gasped and met me there, open arms and down at my level. I smiled and jumped into Papyrus's arms, tears brimming my eyes.
"Oh Cappy! Oh how I've missed you so much! Thank goodness you're okay!" Papyrus laughed. I felt wetness hit my jacket and knew Papyrus had started crying.
"I.... I'm so sorry. I never wanted any of this to happen." I replied shakily.
"I'm just glad you're okay." Papyrus announced. At this point Sans had turned back around and had grown furious. Sans had grabbed a hold of my soul and attempted to slam me into a tree, but I teleported on to solid snow just in time to avoid it. Sans kept trying to slam me into something, but being as train as I was (Thanks again Ink!) I just kept avoiding and evading his attempts. And he was getting real tired real quick.
"Why... Did... You... Run... AWAY!" Huffed Sans. I didn't respond. "I told you how much we missed you! I missed you! Why! Why did you do it?! Why?!" Sans asked. He then broke down and started to cry. I teleported to him and hugged him. "Why did you, Cap?" Sans hiccuped.
"I was scared Sans. I didn't know if I could trust myself around you guys." I replied. Sans then started to hug back. "But I'm okay now Sans. And I even learned some things too! I can control myself Sans, and I'm not afraid anymore. I'm so sorry I did this to you. To all of you. And I don't blame you if you never forgive me. Any of you." I replied shakily.
"Oh Cap. I forgive you. And I'm sorry I didn't trust you. Oh god, I missed you so much." Sans replied, holding my head against his shoulder with his hand.
"I missed you too." I mumbled. Sans picked me up and smiled.
"Let's go home." Sans announced. Papyrus and I nodded, and together we all teleported home.
