'Because I want her to hate me,' Taehyung's mother, the Queen of the East remembered the way Seokjin's father talked with such face.
Handsome and tall, broad even though he was a runt. She recalled the way people's hearts fluttered not because of love but because of respect.
The time when her best friend that became the Queen of the North not long ago at that time fell in love with the way he treated Omega not as a breeding tool but as an equal.
She always thought that those two would become the greatest couple, two wise people who loved each other and fought for the right.
Their time back then when the world was in chaos, those two with herself and the others put the world back together.
But then she heard the news, Seokjin's father mated with another omega and that was her best friend's twin sister.
Same hair, same face, slightly taller but the North Queen's twin sister was the definition of omega who couldn't even kill a fly.
Yet, that woman could do the cruellest thing, unlike her best friend who was everything but a weak omega.
Ironic, how everything ended up like this.
'I don't understand,' she cried, hand throbbing after slapping Seokjin's father. The once strong figure shivered, unshed tears escaped his doe eyes.
'I want her to hate me,' he smiled, hand caressing the fading mark from the cursed woman who took away his love; his life right before his eyes and he was too powerless to fight back when he was lost deep inside his rut.
'I want her to remember, how deep our love is,' once again Taehyung's mom was lost, confused with his answer.
Seokjin's father could apologies, he could ask or even beg for forgiveness and she was sure her best friend would forgive him.
Even though it takes time, but at the end of the day, both sides could move on once the wound being taken care.
But perhaps Seokjin's father was never a truly wise man, never a kind and perfect alpha people looked up to.
He was nothing but an egoist, one who couldn't accept the fact that he betrayed the bond and left his true mate inside the forest, dying because he was busy making a bond with his mate's twin sister.
Maybe he didn't want to acknowledge that he was this bad at recognizing his own mate, the rut won over him and now the baby inside his 'wife' was his.
'If she hates me then ...'
Then she would never be able to move on from him.
Maybe he was just an egoist, who wanted to cage up his own mate.
Now thinking back at that time, if Taehyung's mother took this matter more deeply, maybe forcing her dead best friend to meet Seokjin's father.
Just if.
But now everything was gone, she shouldn't think about that matter anymore as she got down from the royal carriage to the barrack near the borderline of the West and the North territory.
Her hair was short now, reaching her shoulder and people murmured in the back because they always know that noblewoman would keep their hair long as their pride.
But when Taehyung's mother looked back, she cut her hair because she wanted to at least send something to her once best friend who died in the hand of her own nephew.
Once again a possibility where everything turned right and the North Queen accepted Seokjin as her nephew, treating Seokjin as her own pup.
Just maybe.
"Where's them?" she asked Jimin, Jungkook's personal guard who stood before a big makeshift tent.
Jimin bowed his head, stopping right before he could give his greeting to the Queen by his prince, Jungkook who ran to their side.
"Aunty!" he shouted, cheek bruised and shoulder wrapped in white bandages, "are you here to see Taetae Hyung and Seokjin hyung?" he asked with such eagerness.
The queen smiled slightly, nodding her head as she watched the way this little prince talked and she realized that everything changed.
The once small prince with raven hair was now an adult who fought on the battlefield alongside her own son and their kingdoms.
"Actually," Jungkook scratched his head, "I think you should know this before entering the tent."
Jungkook's face changed, like how Jimin's shoulders tensed up and the Queen's heart hammered her chest.
Just who would she lose again?
Her best friend?
Her role figure?
Her people?
Her kingdom?
Her own son and soon to be son in law?
"What's wrong?" Jungkook could sense the hint of nervousness, the panicked expression from his aunt.
Jungkook opened the tent's curtain, walking slowly and they heard a loud snarl from the back corner of the tent.
The queen saw a makeshift nest, from half dirtied linen and some worn-out pillows, then the snarling sound turned into a whine when she stepped inside.
Her light scent spread, she could smell the rich chocolate scent of his son and the other strong yet not as dominating as her son's scent,
A black wolf.
The identical one like the one from her past, she gasped, eyes became teary as she walked faster to the dim light.
"Seokjin?"
The wolf's ears flattened on his black fur, the huge wolf tried to hide behind his mate. Taehyung chuckled, patting Seokjin's head, "mother," he called.
The Queen let out a relieved sigh when she noticed her son was in a good condition, without minding the bruised face of course.
"That surprises me," Taehyung said as she sat on a small chair near them, "you could recognize Jin Hyung."
She hummed, the black wolf still trying to hide even though he was clearly visible because Taehyung was so small compared to his wolf form.
"How could I forget that gorgeous black fur," she reached out her hand, she didn't chase after Seokjin but wait patiently.
Seokjin who seemed to feel bad because he kept ignoring the queen finally came closer, nudging the palm and let the older woman pat his head.
"So you also know about the power Seokjin has," Taehyung concluded, watching the way Seokjin purred under his mother's cares.
The queen shook her head, "no, I don't," Taehyung quirked his eyebrow, he was feeling conflicted, all of these events messed up his head.
"Nobody knows," she talked carefully, "since the North Queen banished her own clan, the elders thought the power died together with the clan."
But it didn't, Seokjin's survival was unpredictable, and the fact that he took after his father's power was beyond people's expectations.
The queen cupped Seokjin's face, looking to the bloody red eyes, she pressed her forehead against him, "same but also not the same, your father had deep blue eyes while you have red eyes."
The wolf whimpered, Taehyung let his mother pulled him into their hug, "I'm glad both of you are here," she croaked, "I'm glad ..." she whispered and Taehyung felt his eyes stung.
The prince hugged his mother tightly, letting out a shaky sigh when Seokjin leaned to them from behind him; as if the wolf tried to engulfed Taehyung and his mother together.
"Your father and Jungkook's father was talking with the South Kingdom, they also helped with this plan of counter-attacking the north kingdom," she explained, "you don't have to think about the kingdom thingy for a while, dear."
Taehyung nodded, leaning to his mother's warm palm, "you can rest assured, heal, and spend your time with Seokjin."
Seokjin huffed, clearly upset because he couldn't answer to her majesty's kind words. Taehyung chuckled, "both of you will stay in the West kingdom for a while until your father and your brother finish the complicated business, until then."
She left after giving a chaste kiss on each other's forehead, Taehyung hugged Seokjin's wolf form again and closed his eyes.
"She didn't talk about you changing back into human, Hyung," the prince murmured, he closed his eyes as the warmth from the black fur spread, "I wonder what people will say if I announce that I'm gonna marry a black giant wolf."
The warm breeze caressed Taehyung's face, a warm hand cupped his left cheek and when he opened his eyes Seokjin was grinning back to him.
"You will be counted as a freak prince from the East in the history book," he chuckled, Taehyug grinned back; his boxy smile back in the show.
Messy hair, bloody red eyes, and a sincere smile; Taehyung's body shivered as he watched the omega before him, Seokjin could feel his cheeks blushed but he chose to gaze back to his mate's electric blue eyes.
"I'm officially a freak prince then," he said before he pulled Seokjin into a deep kiss and pulled the white linen to cover his mate's naked body.
Until then, they would be careless about the outside world and drowned themselves with each other's comforting scent.
