(Erza POV)

I had already cut down another of the seemingly infinite number of enemies. I was searching for that scale piecing weapon, the dark mages have yet to use it in this battle so I was worried about the mysterious weapon. I was already deep into the enemy army; I looked around for my comrades and my next opponent. The sounds of battle started to become a roar in my ears and then I heard a voice in the roaring crowd. 

"Aim it there, at the yellow one, he is huge, we can't miss," It wasn't a voice that I could recognize so it had to be one of the dark mages. I decided to question the sudden increase in my sense of hearing later. I looked over to where the voice had come from and I saw a group of mages around a cannon-like device. I looked at where the device was aimed at and it was Laxus. If this was the weapon that we were warned about then that will easily pierce through Laxus, possible killing him, killing the Master grandson, killing one of my pack. I couldn't let that happen, I reequipped into my flight armor and ran to destroy the device. I knocked it to ground, the man who had spoken had tried to attack me with a punch to the face. While it did connect it didn't hurt at all, in fact, for some reason the man who had attacked me almost looked afraid of me. 

I heard a hum, I looked down and saw that while I didn't stop them from activating the device, it was getting ready to fire. I followed its possible trajectory and saw that it was going to hit Jellal, I lifted a clawed hand to destroy the device but I was too late and it had fired. I quickly moved to protect Jellal, to protect him, I was running, and running, but I wasn't going to be fast enough even with my flight armor. I was just feet away when I saw the beam of magic hit Jellal. 

NO!

NO!

"NO!" I roared in fury, something breaking while I charged forward.

I used my tail to crash through the remaining army to make it to Jellal, he was on the ground bleeding, he wasn't moving. The army before me looked so small, so weak, they shot me with something. I couldn't let it hit, knowledge had flowed into my mind and I knew what to do. 

"Deus Scutum" the enchantment had increased the strength of my scales, the beams of magic had left mere burns on my scales. 

'Destroy them, they are a threat, threats have to be destroyed,' that voice in my head had told me, I agreed, they hurt him, my mate, I can't let them get away with that, once again I was provided with perfect spell. 

"Sapiens Exitium" the spell caused explosions to appear throughout the battle field. I looked for more threats, I stood over Jellal and raised my red feathered wings to shadow over my enemies. 

(Jellal POV)

My sides were burning when I woke up. I opened my eyes to look around only to be covered in my almost complete darkness. I looked up to see...scales? 'Didn't the dragons say that they were going to fight in human form?' I thought as I started to get up. 

"Jellal, can you hear me?" I heard in my head, which was ringing, possible from the blood loss, as there was a good size puddle of blood forming underneath me. 

"Yes, who is this?" I asked, the voice was familiar but the blaring in my head kept me from recognizing it. 

"It's Levy, I don't know what happened but Erza is out of control." She told me, suddlenly I was on alert. 

"Erza? What happened to Erza?" I asked, there was a moment of silence and suddenly I was extremely worried. 

"Jellal...What have you been doing for the past ten minutes?" Levy asked me.  

'Why does that matter?' 

"I don't know, but I think I passed out and have been bleeding for the past ten minutes or so, why?" Another moment of silence followed. 

"Well, I have kind of good news and kind of bad news, which one do you want first?" Levy asked me with a slightly nervous tone. 

"It doesn't matter, what happened to Erza?" I asked her. 

"Okay, good news is that Erza is safe and can apparently turn into a dragon," 'What?!' "Bad news is that she is going on a rampage," 'Rampage?!' "Good news, we might know what caused it, bad news, think it might have been you." Levy explained through telepathy. 

"So, Erza is a dragon now?" I asked. 

"Well, probably half dragon from what I am hearing from Gajeel," Levy interjected. 

"Erza is a dragon?" I asked again to try to wrap my head around this revelation. 

"Yes...On the bright side, it does explain a few things," Levy told me, trying to lighten the mood. 

"Do you have an idea on what type?" I asked her. 

"Gajeel is telling me that she is most likely a sage dragon from all of the enchantments she is using," Levy told me. 

"Like Irene?" I asked her. 

"Yes, Erza kind of looks like her right now actually," Levy told me. 'Wait, does that mean that...Nope, focus on those revelations later, Erza is important right now.'

"So where is she, I can't see her, and how am I the cause of her transformation?" I asked. 

"How can you not...Jellal, where are you right now?" Levy asked me. 

"I don't know, it's pretty dark over here and the ceiling looks like...scales." I stopped to think for a moment. "I got hit by some sort of magic weapon and then I passed out. I was trying to get to where Wendy and Romeo were."

"I think I know where you are, but Gajeel tells me that you are going to need to do something before we can give you first aid." She told me and I had an idea of where I was now. 

"I am underneath Erza right now, aren't I?" I asked but I already knew the answer, "What do you need me to do?"

"We can get Ophiuchus to get as close as possible, but from what Gajeel is telling me, the reason that Erza is rampaging like this is because of two things, one she is suddenly a dragon and that she is trying to handle the shock of the change." Levy explained to me, 'Sure even Erza would be shocked by this, but she would have gotten over it rather quickly if we were in a battle, she is able to change between armor and weapons of different sizes and weight easily in the heat of battle.' I thought to myself.

"And what is the second reason?" I asked, and she started to stammer, and I could practically see her red face through the telepathic connection. 

"You know how Gajeel and I got really close easily and how Natsu and Lucy have their glowing eyes and talking through each other thing?" Levy explained. 

"Yes, what does that have to do with anything?" I asked impatiently, waiting for her to get to the point. I didn't want to be rude but I was starting to get very worried about Erza, and while the majority of the bleeding had stopped, I was still bleeding. Whatever had hit me, had just grazed me so it wasn't a deep wound but it didn't cause a lot of blood loss. 

"So, that is because we are mates, and apparently according to Gajeel, Erza is reacting to how a dragon would react to someone who had hurt their mate." Levy explained, I was confused. 

"I don't understand?"

"Well, hmm, you see," Levy stammered even more. 

"Listen, Star boy," Gajeel's loud voice had bellowed in my head causing it to ring, "Do I need to spell it out for you? You're Titiania's mate."

"What!" I shouted out loud, my face burning, luckily my shout had traveled telepathically and the two had heard me.

"Yes, now you need to tell Titania over here that you are okay before she starts taking out all of the strong opponents, and leaving me with a boring fight." Gajeel told me and I started to look for an exit. I spotted one and I took my cloak and wrapped it around my injury. 'If I remember Ophiuchus is the snake woman who the celestial spirits brought as a healer.'

I managed to make my way outside and then it became easier to see that Erza was the one who was covering me. I looked up to see her in her new dragon shape, she really did look like Irene, but there were some major differences. For one, the horns on Erza's head were curled more like the ones on mountain goats and rams, and instead of having tan scales on her underside, she had grey scales, which mimicked the color of her armor, then on her left arm was her blue Fairy Tail Guild mark. There were similarities to Irene in Erza's dragon form, like there were similarities to Erza in Irene's human form. To start with, like Irene, Erza had red scales and a red mane that traveled down her spine, and like the older sage dragon, Erza had red feathered wings. These only similarities only further cemented my theory about the connection between the two. 

I need to think of a way to get her attention, I can worry about Irene and the mate thing later. I need Erza to look at me. I couldn't use Meteor to fly up there because it might agitate my wounds, nor could I use any powerful moves because I might either hurt Erza or pass out from the added exhaustion of magic loss on top of my blood loss. I do know some elemental magic, so maybe, I looked around and found who I was looking for, then I readied a telepathic link. 

"Juvia, it's Jellal I need some water," I told her, she turned to look at me, I didn't want to use any magic to create water because while I did know who to create the water, I didn't want to risk my stamina running out. 

"Why doesn't Jellal need Water from Juvia?" the Water mage had asked. 

"To get Erza's attention," I told her and she looked at me and nodded before sending a ball of water in my direction. I used water manipulation magic to redirect it to Erza's head. It hit and Erza looked down allowing me to see that her brown eyes were now a golden color. 

Her eyes were now draconic in appearance rather than their normal appearance, I looked at her eyes and for a moment I was worried that Levy and Gajeel might have been wrong. Then Erza's eyes started to glow, and then I felt something form between us. 

"Jellal, is that you?" she asked me, I gave her a smile, and she looked back at me, then a beam of magic hit her on the head. 

"ERZA!!" I shouted worried, but when the dust cleared from the attack, the only wound that she had was a burn mark on her face. 

"Don't worry Jellal, it will take more than that weapon of theirs to pierce my scales," she told me proudly. 

"Can you turn back into a human?" I asked her. 

"I might be able to, but I don't have the time to figure it out at this moment." She told me, I let out a sigh of relief, if Erza was only half dragon, I was worried about her being stuck as a dragon. I then looked around for Ophiuchus so that I could be treated, then I spotted a raven constellation talking to who I believe was the snake woman I was looking for. 

"I am glad I was able to calm you down, however; I still need to get this wound treated," I told her, I wasn't sure how she could hear me, but I was going to chalk it up to something to do with this mate thing. Ophiuchus slithered over to me with her medical back in hand, along with who I believe was Pisces in their human form as well as Erza watching her back. 

(Ivan POV)

I looked at the battlefield, I didn't know that the celestial spirits could all just charge into the battlefield like this, but I wasn't too worried. While some of my allies and their men as well as my own were winning in terms of numbers, I didn't what to risk that father of mine to turn this battle around with his arrival. While I am sure that I could beat the man in a one-on-one, the bag of bones had an annoying habit of always having a way to turn to battle in his favor. Thats why I made sure I had plenty of my own hidden cards. 

Don't think you have won yet, Fairy Tail, your Titiania might be able to stop one of my trump cards but I still have many more where that came from.

That's the end of the chapter, I hope that have enjoyed to battle so far, this has been so far, I have been waiting to write this part especially for a while.
I wanted to give Erza enchantments like Irene has, so I looked at some of the names of the enchantment that Irene used in the anime and manga. So, I used a similar method to name the enchantments that Erza uses, like Deus Scutum, which is a powered-up version of Deus Corona, which is a defense enchantment that Wendy use, and I can assume Irene can use as well as it is not strictly a sky dragon slayer spell some of the other enchantments Wendy eyes, according to the Fairy Tail Wiki. Also, Sapiens Exitium is supposed to be a more powerful verson of Irene's Destroy, which is an explosion enchantment that Irene uses. These names are just me putting words into google translate for Latin, but I think I didn't a good job naming them. Deus Scutum is God Shield, and Sapiens Exitium is supposed to be Sage Destruction.
