A few months passed and every morning, Aka and I met at the café. She'd take a few pictures. Of our orders, of Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang working. Of me sitting in the booth. Then we'd sit there and talk. We'd talk about work, about life, about ourselves, our friends. Anything.
I learned that the girlfriend of my close friend's oldest brother was her best friend. She loved puppies. Her favorite color was soft lavender, her favorite flower was marigold, her favorite flavor was vanilla, her favorite gem stone was opal.
And that she was the niece of the multimillionaire businessman, Donquixote Doflamingo.
I had met her uncle and father when I was very young. Her father, Rocinante or "Corazon", had become my hero after he stopped a man from beating me when I didn't have any money to give him.
"So, Law. Um. The city commissioned me to take photos for the city ball this weekend. They said that I'll get in free of charge as long as I bring a date. I was wondering if maybe you would like to come with me?" She asked. I blinked. Was she asking me on a date?
The way she was blushing. The way she wouldn't make eye contact with me. Her nervous when mannerism of crossing and uncrossing her middle and ring finger on both hands... She was! She was asking me on a date.
I smiled at her softly and laid my hand on hers gently. She looked up at me.
"I would love to." I said. She smiled brightly up at me. She gave me her address and we agreed that I would pick her up at 6:00 for the ball.
The weekend couldn't arrive fast enough for me. When it finally did, I was anxious. I wore my best suit and waited on a bench in the lobby of her apartment complex.
Finally, I heard her come down the stairs. I looked up and saw her in this:

"I hope you weren't waiting long." She said. I couldn't stop staring.
"N-not at all. You look beautiful." I told her. She smiled.
"Th-thank you. You look rather dashing, yourself." She said. I smiled at her and offered my hand to her.
"My lady?" I said. She smiled her bright smile and took my hand. Her hand fit perfectly in mine. I was fully convinced that we were made for each other.
As we were at the ball, I was reminded that Aka was on a job. I sat at a table and sipped on some water while she did her job and took pictures.
"Heya, Law!" I heard a chipper voice behind me say. I turned and saw a firmiliar head of red hair.
"Hello, Aisuru-ya. What are you doing here?" I asked the girlfriend of my close friend.
"I'm here with Luffy. His older brother Ace and my friend Aoi are here, too. We came for a group date, but Luffy won't stop raiding the food table." Aisuru said and sat beside me. I was surprised at the dress Aisuru was wearing.

Aisuru was very young, so seeing her in a dress meant for more mature women shocked me, especially since her boyfriend, Luffy, was just as young as she was.
"So what are you doing here, Law? Work demand you take time off?" Aisuru asked me.
"I'm actually here with the photographer." I said. Her golden eyes widened and her mouth fell open.
"Oh.. My... God... You're Aka's date?" She asked in shock. I blinked.
"Oh? You know Aka-ya?" I asked. Aisuru nodded.
"She's one of my close friends!" Aisuru said. A woman with blue hair wearing this:

approached us, Luffy and his older brother, Ace in tow.
"There, now that's enough raiding the food for tonight, Luffy. Spend sometime with your girlfriend." The woman said.
"Tra-guy!" Luffy said and hugged me. I shooed his hands off of me.
"Oh, someone you know?" The woman asked.
"Aoi-chan! This is Law! The guy Aka was telling us about!" Aisuru said. The bluenette woman, Aoi, looked at me surprised.
"Oh, you're Aka's Café Curious Buddy." Aoi said. I raised an eyebrow.
"Café Curious Buddy?" I asked her. She grinned sheepishly at me.
"Oh. It's just the nickname I gave you when I noticed the way you were looking at her in one of the pictures she accidentally caught you in. It looked to me like you were curious, and you were in a café and, well, now you and Aka are buddies. Heh, sorry... I'm Aoi, by the way. Ocean D Aoi." She said, extending her hand out to me.
"Trafalgar Law." I said, shaking her hand. Her jade eyes widened.
"Wait... As in Dr. Trafalgar Law? The brilliant 23 year old surgeon?" She asked me. I nodded.
"Yes, that would be me." I said. She smiled.
"Wow! I've heard a lot about you! Did you really give open-heart surgery to a five year old?" She asked, taking a seat by Aisuru and staring at me. I nodded.
"My first surgery two years ago. That one seems to be my most popular story." I said.
"I hope you're not trying to impress my girlfriend to the point of stealing her, Law." Ace said. I smirked at him.
"Wouldn't dream of it, Ace-ya." I said.
"So, you're here with Aka, huh? Sorry, but the girl is married to her job." Aoi said. We all watched as Aka took photos of the band, of the dancers, even just people sitting at the tables. I smirked as an idea came to my mind.
"Excuse me, please." I said, standing and making my way over to the woman. I cleared my throat as the song ended.
"Oh! Law! I'm sorry if you're bored. You can leave if you want." She told me, not making eye contact with me.
"Leave? Why would I do that? I believe they are playing our song, Aka-ya. May I have this dance?" I asked her. Aka looked to the side and I noticed that Aoi had followed me. The bluenette held her hand out to Aka.
"Hand over the camera and go dance. Try to enjoy yourself for once, Aka." Aoi said. Aka smiled and took off her camera, handing it to Aoi and taking my hand as James Blunt began to sing, I lead her out to be dance floor and began to dance with her.

"I didn't know you knew how to waltz." She murmured to me.
"I could say the same about you, Aka-ya." I said. She smiled at me, making my heart stutter. We danced slowly, gazing in to each other's eyes. I was slowly getting lost in her silver eyes. Though, the truth of James Blunt's words stung at me.
"You're beautiful,
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful it's true.
I saw your face,
in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do,
Because I'll never be with you."
She truely was beautiful. The most beautiful woman in the world. All others paled in comparison. Even the most precious of gems couldn't hold a candle to her. Even Boa Hancock herself would be stunned by Aka's beauty.
I felt my heart beating fast as Aka's eyes fluttered shut in contentment for a brief moment, before opening to meet my eyes again.
She was much smaller than me.
"Way to note the obvious. I'm 6'3" and she's 5'2". Of course she's much smaller than me." I thought to myself.
I released a small sigh of contentment, unable to draw my eyes away from the angel of beauty that was dancing with me.
"You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true."
I sang along softly. She smiled up at me again. I smiled softly down at her.
"There must be an angel
With a smile on her face.
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth.
I will never be with you."
She smile up at me as the song ended.
"Never say never." She said. I was shocked at first, but the next thing I knew, she had grabbed my jacket, pulled me down to her level and kissed me.
I leaned in to the kiss, enjoying the taste of her lips. Her lips tasted like vanilla and caramel. I slid a hand from her hip to the back of her head and held her there longer. I wanted to stay like that forever. But air annoyingly decided it needed to be in our lungs and forced us apart. I leaned my head against hers.
"Aka-ya... Would you like to go out to dinner with me this Saturday?" I asked. Aka smiled brightly.
"I'd love to, Law." She said. I smiled at her.
After the ball ended and I took her home and I got home myself, I already knew that my heart was no longer mine to keep. The heart beating in my chest was beating for one reason and one reason only. The heart in my chest wasn't mine to keep.
Aka had stolen my heart.
