Chapter Two
Taking one from the bottle, I watched as the bright blue pill rolled in my hand before settling in the center. My eyes moved away as I looked at the sink, feeling the sudden urge to throw them all down the drain. I wouldn't have to deal with the stupid medication anymore; but Steve would notice instantly. I instead dropped the one down, watching it rock back and forth before making a 'plink' sound as it went down the drain. My hand snapped forward and I turned on the water, staring into the sink for a couple of seconds. I turned off the water and put the bottle in the cabinet, silently telling myself that nothing happened.
The kitchen was loud and annoying as soon as I walked in. Kyle was putting dishes away while Steve ducked around him preparing food. I sat at the kitchen table facing the two, watching them in silence. I remembered when I was doing the same as them months back, making the chaos smoother. Kyle would pass me things and I would get Steve items to make breakfast. Everything was a lot better back then, I made everything worse.
Me and Kyle were roommates before meeting Steve, and I could proudly say we dated on and off while staying best friends. When rent became too much we invited Steve over to stay with us along with Benny, who he was dating. Everything was perfect. Then I made everything worse. After the incident, Steve fought with Benny, making the two break off. Kyle stopped treating me like a friend and more like something he had to take care of.
A plate was pushed in front of me, breaking my thoughts. Steve walked off and began helping Kyle with the dishes, his hand brushing his. I wasn't blind to the fact my two roommates were dating, it stung worse that they hadn't told me.
"I'm heading off to work. Tyler. Don't run off. Benny is coming to get you." Steve reminded me, picking up a satchel full of paperwork. Kyle waved him off and finished up the dishes, closing all the cabinets and locking them. He then walked over to me, giving me a smile.
"Don't stress yourself out over anything. Dr. Soro just wants to check up on you and how the medicine is." Kyle ruffled my hair and grabbed his own bag, throwing it over his shoulder. He gave a wave and walked out the front door, leaving me alone. Boredom hit quick, making me glare at the plate still in front of me.
I stood up and grabbed the plate, dumping the breakfast food in the trash before cleaning the plate in the sink. I was rarely hungry, but no need to tell Steve or Kyle. Glancing around, I tried thinking of what to do. Kyle did have some files unlocked in his room, but he'd know if I touched them. I could walk to Dr. Soro's office myself, no need to be a burden on anyone else, especially Benny.
------

Choice two: Walk to the appointment yourself
