CG's Surprise

The fight was done

3Gun had won

But he never liked what followed

Each time something was lost

A feeling that left him hollowed

He tipped the bottle

Found it dry

And tossed it on the floor

That was precisely the moment

CG came through the door

She came up close

Hands jammed on hips

Wearing her famous glare

Then quickly grabbed him by the arm

And yanked him off the chair

CM was gone when

She poured his bath

Adding a dash of lilac water

Then stuck her finger in to test

And made it even hotter

The bath had helped

It cleared his head

And had shaken his memory loose

Recalling the special surprise

He needed to give to CrazyGoose

He'd known all along

Proof was in hand

And soon the whole town would see

The papers replaced from the fire at the jail

CrazyGoose would be free

Some flowers and a bottle of wine

Yessir he'd do this up fine

Shiny boots and bolo tie

Kicked his heels way up high

Folks stared as he walked the street

Wondering who the sheriff was off to meet

Until they saw his come to a stop

Outside CG's newsprint shop

Shined his boot on the back of his pants

Adjusted everything with a little dance

Patted his coat where the paper sat

Then smiled his smile and took of his hat

The door opened and he held out his treat

His demeanor grand, all upbeat

CG sighed and waved him in

Told him he had shaving soap on his chin

3Gun whipped out the paper and snapped it open

Be pleased, he was desperately hopin'

She read the words, had nothing to say

Stared at 3Gun and fainted dead away
