I had a very eventful day.
I volunteered at the botanical gardens, a very beautiful place with lots of plants and beautiful sculptures and scenery. We had to do a lot of walking back and forth and getting plants and supervising children... did I mention me and my friend were watching the Family Adventure Garden? A super cute section, but kids are a handful. We held scavenger hunts (that had no prizes which I'm sure the kids didn't enjoy finding out 😂 but we left before then) and hula hoop contests. There was a mini water park inside and we had to make sure the kids didn't climb where they weren't supposed to, or cover the water sprayers with rocks. They also enjoyed building dams in the little 'river' that ran through, consequently flooding the side walk. As terrible as I make this sound, it was a lot of fun. There was an area for plays and puppet shows... we messed around there for a while of course 😂😂. Then my friend lost her phone... not so fun, we walked around for hours and finally found someone had returned it to the office. Anyway once our shift was FINALLY over, we went to a festival 🙃 in the heat of the day... with no where to comfortably sit... crowded with people with alcoholic beverages in hand 😐. Needless to say I should have taken my anxiety pill. Food was mediocre but it was fun to get out. The festival was A Taste of New Orleans, it was fun ish. My legs hurt from walking and I'm sunburnt all over, but I think it was worth it. Here are some pics from today, then I'm out bc I'm tired
