Jin ♡ Argument [request]

Requested by @ronweasleyswhore7

I sat behind one of the desks in the administration building, sorting through some paperwork I was given. A couple months ago I started a part time job at my college to help pay for my tuition. It's fairly manageable for me. Since it's at the college, they work with my class schedule, which I'm extremely thankful for. However, on the days I'm not working, I'm taking tutoring lessons. There's no issue with that, of course, except for the fact that my boyfriend doesn't know. To add to that, I've been lying and telling him I'm working when I'm not.

I finished up my paperwork for the day, glancing at the time on my phone. I got a sudden burst of adrenaline seeing that my shift was over and I could finally go home to my precious Jin. I cleaned up my desk, putting everything into neat stacks and heading out to my car, phone up to my ear as I waited for an answer.

"Hi princess." My boyfriend's smooth voice spoke through the receiver.
"Hi Jinnie. I was just calling to let you know I'm off work and I'm about to head home."
"Great! Are you hungry? Should I make something or order something?"
"Starving." I answer, getting into my vehicle and closing the door. "How about you surprise me?"
"It's my specialty." I could practically hear him winking through the phone.
"I can't wait. I'll see you in half an hour."
"See you, lovely."
"You too." I pulled the phone away from my ear and ended the call.

I made it home in a little more than thirty minutes, my heart thumping with excitement, ready to see what delicious dish was waiting for me.
Upon opening the front door, I could smell something delightful and mouthwatering.
"I'm home!" I announced.
"Oh! You're just in time." Jin hurried out to greet me, an apron tied around his slim waist. "Follow me." His hand found mine and he pulled me into the dining room where he had a beautiful spread of food and side dishes along the table.
"I decided to make something myself. I figured it would be more special. I hope you're okay with japchae."
"You know I love any kind of noodle dish." I smiled, taking a seat at the table.
Jin left the room for a moment and hurried back with drinks for the two of us. I was starving, but I chose to wait for him to take a seat before I started eating.
"What do you think?" He asked with anticipation.
"Really good. As usual."
"Good." He gave me his signature closed-mouth grin, the one where his cheeks look round and squishy, before he took a large bite of noodles.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" He questioned after swallowing his food.
"Uh... I have to work again tomorrow."
That's a lie. I have a tutoring session.
"Oh. Okay." He shrugged and continued eating.
The two of us finished dinner, I offered to clean up afterwards and wash dishes as a way to say thank you. Jin seemed to appreciate that.

The next day, I went to college, stopping by the library for my tutoring session with Shownu. He's already graduated but works at the college as a tutor. He's very kind and patient. He doesn't get irritated when I keep messing up on a problem, which I appreciate immensely. I honestly believe I'm actually learning stuff when I'm with him.

Over the next few weeks, I found myself brushing Jin off when he asked me if I was busy. I would lie on the days I had tutoring, saying that was another work day. I began to feel bad, but I just couldn't bring myself to tell him what I was actually doing.

I laid in bed, my eyes heavy from the long day I had at college. Jin reached over, pulling me into his chest. I let out a content sigh, snuggling closer to him.
"Baby?" He called softly.
"Mhm?"
"Do you have to work at the college tomorrow?"
"Unfortunately, yes." I lied.
"You've been working a lot lately. Usually you only work 3 days a week. Are you taking extra shifts?" He inquired.
"Yeah. I wanna get my tuition paid off." I lied again.
"I can help you if you want. You don't have to tough it out on your own."
"No, you keep your money. I can do this."
He let out a sigh. "Okay sweetheart. Just know, my offer still stands whenever you're ready."

My chest feels heavy with guilt. I lied to him once again.
I have to stop this at some point. I have to stop it before something bad happens.

Jin's POV
I thought maybe I would surprise Y/n at work today. She said she had to work at the college again, so I prepared a small dessert for her as a little treat. She's been working really hard lately, attending college and then working there a few days a week. She's really got her hands full. The least I can do is surprise her with a piece of cake.

I parked in the college parking lot, my heart thumping with excitement. When I entered the administration building, I began searching for her, my eyes scanning the office doors.
"Excuse me." A voice spoke up. "Can I help you?"
I looked over and saw a blonde guy behind a desk, circular glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose. I recognized him as one of the guys Y/n works with—Jae, I think.
"Yeah. I came here to surprise Y/n."
"Oh. You're her boyfriend."
"I am." I nodded with a smile.
"She's not here today."
"She's not?" I questioned. "She told me she needed to work."
"No. She's in the library with Shownu."
My jaw clenched hearing that. Without saying another word, I stormed out of the office heading straight for the library.

Your POV
"Number 15 has me stumped. I've tried to follow my notes from class, but I seriously can't figure this out."
"Alright." Shownu nodded. "Start with this number here and subtract that one from it. Then you take this number here and divide it by this one." Shownu instructed, pointing at the math problem.
"Ah. I was doing it in the wrong order." I nodded as I worked out the rest of the problem on my own.
Shownu leaned over, looking down at the solved math problem. "That's correct." He nodded.
"Yes!" I clapped. "This is awesome. I'm actually getting it."
"You are." He laughed. "Was there another problem you needed help on?"
"Yeah. Number 18."
"Alright. Let's take a look at it." He looked down at my paper, giving the problem a quick glance. "Okay so take the numbers in this fraction here and figure out it's lowest common factor."
"Oh I hate this one." I groaned.
"It's okay. Just think of your multiplication tables and write down every number that can go into these two. If you find two of the same number-" Shownu was cut off by the loud sound of the library doors being pushed open.
I glanced up from my work seeing a very angry Jin stomping over to us. My heart dropped and I felt my whole body go cold.
"What is this?" He asked angrily.
"Jin, I can explain."
"You can explain on the way to the car."
"But-"
"Excuse me, but we're not finished. Y/n still has ten minutes left until her session is over." Shownu stood up.
"Well she's leaving early." Jin spoke sharply.
He grabbed my arm and began pulling me away from the table. I barely had time to grab my bag and notebook before he pulled me away.
"Shownu I'm sorry I'll be at my lesson next week. Promise." I called as Jin jerked me out of the library.
"Let go of me!" I shouted once we were outside.
"No."
"Jin. Let go."
"No, Y/n. I'm taking you home." He snapped.
He brought me to the car and I willingly got inside, the door slamming behind me. I watched as Jin stomped to the drivers side and got in. He set aside a container I hadn't noticed he was carrying.
"So you lied to me and said you had to work, but you were off in the library with some guy?"
"Yes, I lied, but that wasn't what you thought it was."
"Really? Because it looked like you were hanging out with another guy. I saw the expression on your face when I showed up. You looked like you got caught. Because you did."
"That's not-"
"What is it you don't like about me anymore, hm? Have you just gotten sick of me or were you looking for some excitement?"
"Stop accusing me of things that aren't true!" I shouted, tears burning my eyes. "You wanna know what I was doing? I was at a tutoring session. I'm falling behind in math class and I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to think I was dumb. Are you happy now?" I snapped, salty tears streaming down my cheeks.
Jin sat there, completely speechless, his mouth hanging open.
"Y/n." He whispered weakly. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't. I didn't want you to."
He reached over and grabbed my hand.
"I don't think you're dumb. You assumed something that wasn't true at all."
I looked down at my lap, ashamed.
He's right. I assumed he would think I was stupid. I don't know why I thought he would act that way. Jin isn't like that at all.
"I should have just told you. I don't know why I was so set on keeping it a secret. I should have known you wouldn't think bad of me."
"Yeah. That's right." He nodded.
"I'm sorry." I sighed.
"It's okay. You know, I'm just thankful you weren't cheating on me." Jin chuckled. "I got really scared when I saw you and your tutor."
"Again, sorry." I muttered.
"Hey you know what'll make you feel better?"
"What?"
"This." He picked up the container he set aside, holding it out to me. "I brought you a little dessert to have while you were at work sorting papers, but seeing as you were working hard to learn math, I think you really deserve it."
I opened the container, a small slice of cake inside along with a plastic fork.
"Let's share it." I smiled.
"You sure? You're the one who's been hard at work doing... math." He cringed at the name of the horrid subject.
"Yes I'm sure."
"Well, you don't have to tell me twice."
