When forensic anthropologist Eden Bova-Cho is asked to help investigate a series of underground crimes, she should have said no. She just graduated, and she's happy with her life. She has a loving husband, an adorable little daughter, and is an adjunct professor at her alma mater. Things may be a bit... stale in her marriage (to no one's fault but her own), and raising a five-year-old may be a bit challenging, but life is supposed to be hard, and she's grateful for what she has. She really doesn't need to involve herself in a risky case that she may not even be skilled enough to handle.

And yet, being approached by a handsome FBI agent is all it takes for a sharp wedge to be driven between Eden and her family and for danger to start crawling into every corner of her life — from stalkers, to dead bodies, to scattered bones around the city.

Worst of all, it doesn't take long for her to realize that the biggest threat has been right under her nose this whole time...

So why exactly did she decide to help, again?

hi, it's been a while. this story started out as a part of another wip yearsss ago but it wasn't going anywhere.
but recently i've finally had time to actually read books and suddenly i had this burst of an idea to make this speck of a plot its own story.

going to be sooo honest and say this story has not been planned all the way through so.... this may be super short, it may be super long. i have no idea. so sorry.

p.s. this story is in no way shape or form super accurate. i have never been in the fbi. i have never been a forensic anthropologist. i can only do research and learn so please don't bombard my comments with "ackchewlee 🤓☝️". this is fiction and is supposed to be fun. thank you <3
