Chapter Four: Confessions
I paced around my room.
I am the King. I am the King of Achievement Kingdom.
No matter how many times I told myself this, I couldn't get it through my head. I still couldn't believe my father was killed and that I was expected to fill his place.
I wasn't ready.
I always feared when this day would come. I couldn't imagine leading an entire Kingdom. I mean, I had partial power, but never full power. My father didn't even have full power, but now I did.
I sat on my bed and rubbed my temple. This was so stressful. I was only eighteen! I couldn't do this. I couldn't.
I stood up and grabbed my cape and sword. I tied the cape around my neck and gripped my sword tightly.
My feet led me to the dungeon and before I knew it, I stood in front of the door that led to the newest prisoners cell.
I sighed and opened the door. Two knights stood up straighter when they saw me. They saluted me and I waved them off. They bowed to me before leaving the room.
The man looked up to me slowly. His eyes looked at me pleadingly. I noticed a bruise on his cheek, and I instantly felt a sudden urge to scold the knight that hit him.
"Who hit you?" I asked him.
He pointed to his left and I took a mental note of who it was. I nodded and sat on the other side of the cell. I'd have a talk with that knight later. He had no reason to be hitting this incredible man.
What?
This is my fathers murderer. I couldn't think like that.
The man looked up at me and straightened his legs out. He wasn't glaring at me, to my surprise.
"I'm sorry about your father," He muttered.
Like you would care. You killed him, I thought.
"Yeah, me too," I muttered.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your mother? Was there ever a Queen of Achievement Kingdom?" He asked me.
I blinked and sighed. This was a rather touchy subject for me. I didn't like to think about the horrible fate my mother had.
"She... Um... Was killed," I muttered.
The man nodded and leaned back a little, relaxing.
"How?" He promoted. He had some guts to be asking this of me.
"The... Uh... Wither. She once tried to slay it. Didn't work out too well for her," I told him.
"Is that why you've never tried to slay it?" The man asked.
I smirked and chuckled a little bit. To be honest, I was too scared to due to the fate my mother had.
"Yeah. She was the best knight to ever walk this land. I thought that if my mother couldn't do it, than I couldn't," I told him.
"Are you still gonna do it?" He asked me.
I thought for a moment and wondered if I would ever be able to accomplish the feat I had always been too terrified to complete.
"No. I have too much to worry about now. I guess I'll leave it to the next badass knight," I chuckled a little. The man did too and he gave me a small smile.
"You know, I never did catch your name," I told him.
"Gavin," He muttered. I nodded and smiled. I opened my mouth to say my real name but Gavin beat me to it.
"Michael, right?" Gavin asked me. I nodded and sighed, giving him a questioning look. It was nice to hear my real name instead of Mogar from someone other than Jack, but strange to have it come from someone who was now a prisoner.
"I heard you and Jack talking on the night I stole the medicine," Gavin admitted. I nodded and began getting lost in my thoughts. Specially, my spilt personalities.
Yes, I had spilt personalities. Michael was the sweet side of myself. The forgiving and loving side. Mogar was the brave and badass knight that I had to be for the villagers. Mogar was the person that didn't take anything from anyone, and who didn't forgive and love.
"How come people call you Mogar instead of Michael?" Gavin asked me.
"Because when I was born my father thought it was better if I had a nickname, ya know, to keep me safe from the Wither and stuff," I told him.
Gavin nodded and sighed. I noticed him flinch a bit when I sat down. He's on high alert. I don't blame him. I would be too.
"You know I never knew Geoff had a son, let alone a wife," I muttered.
"He didn't," Gavin told me.
I looked at him in confusion.
"Then who's your mom?" I asked him. Gavin looked up at me with thoughtful eyes.
"You know, I never really did ask dad, I mean, Geoff. He said he didn't like to talk about it," Gavin told me.
"Maybe your mom died or something?" I suggested. Gavin nodded and sighed.
"Probably," Gavin mumbled.
I pulled my cape over my shoulders a little more, using it as a blanket of some sort. Gavin looked up and smiled at me.
"I guess I understand now why all the villagers fall for you," Gavin breathed. I shot my head up and eyed him. That was quite a bold thing to say, even for a prisoner.
But Gavin just smirked and leaned his head back against the wall, closing his eyes.
I admired his sleeping form and his prompt features. His golden hair really highlighted his bright features. Too bad it was filthy right now. He had quite a big nose too, but it looked nice on his face. Too bad it was a little swollen right now. His usual bright emerald green eyes looked so bright and luminous in the sunlight. Too bad they were closed and he was in a dungeon.
I sighed and stood up. I placed my hand on the door but before I turned, I looked back at Gavin. He looked so pained. I actually felt my stomach sink at his situation.
I don't even want to execute him anymore.

Author's Note:
I love how I'm only updating two of my stories. I'm such a slacker it's great.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Please let me know how I'm doing. Tbh, this is probably my favorite story to write other than my apocalypse story, so yeah. I don't know why but I've always love to write about times when you could kill people and get away with it.
Wow... I'm sounding like Ryan...
Okay! Before I turn into the Mad Queen, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
