Chapter 6 - Practice

Part 2.

Enjoy.

A good warm up from Zombina and the man she is with. Which means two things. One, these monster girls on the inside are really the same. They have a heart. They have a soul. All have different personalities and over a sit-down and some coffee or food all can congregate peacefully. Then they are more insecure than humans for the time being because they feel that they are constantly judged and frowned upon. It takes guts and determination to be in the human world.

{ Alright. She's coming in. Good luck. Use your words. Make her comfortable. } Said Smith in Chef's earpiece.

"Copy that." He smiled.

Behind the curtain there was a very short woman with a sunhat on. About five feet tall, short hair, a long sundress, and the sun hat had a very large brim. She sat down in the chair a little hesitant. Chef's eyes opened wide.

I see what she meant. Very shy. "Hello there. I'm Chef from Kimihito's house."

"Oh? So you, know about-" She said nervously.

"Yes. I very recently sat down outside with Lala after dinner. I know. And here with me around, you can be yourself. You can take your hat off if you like." He smiled.

"You okay with, my eye?" She raised her head and closed her eye.

"Of course I am." Giving her a firm nod. "So while I'm here can I get you anything? Coffee? Water?"

"A bottle of water please?" She replied still rather skittish.

"One moment." Chef went to go grab one and head to the monster girl to hand her one. Then went to sit back down again. "You can just call me Chef. What's your name?"

"I'm Manako." She answered. Finally opening her eye again.

"That's better. Does your eye make you feel insecure? Because it doesn't bother me. It shouldn't to anyone else."

"Are, you sure? Because it's not like it's cute like a tail or ears." She blushed.

"It makes you, well, you."

"My depth perception isn't that great and because of my eye I'm not big on crowds."

"I get that. Is it still getting used to people? Because I felt that way going to England for the first month or so?"

"Oh? How's it different?" She asked.

Chef smiled. "You know how many Asian people were on my final flight to England?"

"Me and one more. Off the plane and daily life it was rare seeing one. I thought people would stare at me and I had to learn British-English. Not American-English. It took adjustments. But I was glad that I wasn't too viewed as someone not normal. And I worked in a kitchen where I worked with at most ten people at a time."

"There are two versions of English?" She gasped.

"American is very slang based and British is traditional and a ton of swearing and sexism that no one is willing to adjust to. Anyway, I just want you to know I don't see or value any of you as different. That's that."

Manako smiled. "You're so kind."

"We all have to be if we want to change this place, right?"

"Yes. You're right."  She stood up and bowed. "Thank you. Thank you for the closure I needed. It seems there is more than just two people in this world that will see as different yet still human."

"You and I both bleed red. Correct?"

"Indeed we do. I have to go now."

"Take it easy Manako. Be careful on your way out."

"I shall." She turned out to head past the curtain and you could hear a bump. "Ou!"

Chef closed his eyes and sighed. I was afraid of that...

{ So Chef. It appears the third one isn't here for the time being. I guess I'll have to find Doppel. So here is your last one. I will warn you. She is a very bubbly personality. Big in size but you cannot tell her that and even bigger energy. }

"Hold on Smith. Where are you going with this?" Asked Chef.

He heard stomping as the curtain swooshed as a tall and thick figure came in with a bigger chair. Chef was caught off guard to see a tall blonde definitely over seven feet tall (7'5") with a black horn on her forehead, a nice tan, and larger than life in many aspects. Yet dressed very elegant. A long dress and freshly painted pink nails.

"Are you my date the next few minutes?" She chimed.

"Date? Not sure if we can call it that but I'm here. Smith calls me Chef."

"Oh! You're the Chef at HIS house. Oh my goodness. That's why you're so cute." She giggled. "I'm Tio."

"Good to meet you Tio. How are you?"

"I'm great. Got some new albums, got my nails done, and your friend should have my skirts altered soon." Tio smiled. Larger than life was right. That was accurate.

"Skirts altered? Uhhh, hold on. Why does that sound dirty?" He blushed.

{ You may or have not dodged a bullet. }

"Hmmm." Tio blushed. A little embarrassed. "I swear. They have women in maybe three sizes here. They say I'm too big to be in cute clothes."

"Nonsense. Hito knows it too. But now that I mention it, he knows how to sew pretty good. Right?"

"He's the best."

"Ahhh. I didn't know he altered so many of them. But yet, we all have different builts. And every woman's figure is different. You can look cute and you don't have to worry about yourself."

"I just work with smaller girls. And you cook for smaller girls too."

Chef chuckled. "You aren't the only one that is not comfortable with their size. Centorea thinks her butt is too big, Miia gets a little iffy about her scales, and Lala well, she is something else. I think she might hate men. Which is awkward because I was talking to her last night and she just sasses me to death."

"Well that's no good." She pouted. "How is she to boyfriend-chan?"

"Hito? Fine I guess. I mean, no arguments there."

"I'm glad."

"So Tio, you work for Smith?" Chef trying to get the conversation going away from sizes and clothes. Smith would probably appreciate it.

"We stop the monster meanies that try and hurt people." Tio held up a fist.

"That, right there, is powerful. Damn."

"I hope so. We go in and crush monsters so they don't harm humans and Smith and her human friends hurt the humans that hurt us. And when the new rules come intact and since we are all getting ID's I can freely shop until I drop."

"Chances are Kimihito might need hire a tailor as well. He hired me to help cook for him and the girls. Man has a lot on his plate."

"The lamia is hard enough."

"And the mermaid with a pool big enough who is also in a wheelchair." Chef nodded. "He's got his hands full by plenty. I just cook and clean and give culture."

"Really?"

"Yes. When over in England having to adjust to their own English and then they're not known for their food. Ironic because many important chefs are from there. One from being a footballer to a world master chef."

( I do hope I am not offending anyone. This is just as I am told. Also Gordan Ramsey was have a trial with the Warwickshire Rangers as a teenager and some injuries including one involving a knee cartilage issue got him cut and says ruined his career. Not to be confused with the Texas Rangers of baseball or New York Rangers of hockey in America. When they say "He was with the Rangers Club" even I get thrown off. I'm a New York Rangers fan myself. Where 70% of the world is covered by water and the rest is covered by Hank. If ya know, ya know. )

"So maybe, if I find a tailor, he can help me shop?" She pondered. Then she giggled. "Maybe I can find one that's cute."

"That a spoiler?"

"It may. When I explore the city I think I will find him. He will be in this suit and I hope to just hug him and go shopping with him."

Hope there isn't a height requirement. Sheesh. "Sounds great. Best of luck finding him. You certainly deserve it."

"Aw, really? Thank you. I think I should go try now. The malls can wait. Thank you again Chef." She got out of her chair and ran off happily with that goal in mind.

{ Impressive. You know how to use your words. }

"I don't cash checks I can't count Smith." He smirked.

{ Wipe that grin off your face because you were not doing so hot with Lala. And if she loses her head then what? }

"I swear to God if she wants to sass and moan all night I know exactly what to do."

{ You can't hurt her by law. You trying to deflower one of my clients? }

"No. Heavens! No. I'll put her head in the breadbox and that way she will have to chill in the quiet and dark room for a while. Simple as that. No harm, no foul, no malice."

{ Hmmm. Now that I think about it she is such a pain. Hopefully no one goes to make toast. Miia or Papi would surely make the house and neighborhood jolt. }

"Agreed. But that's been in my back pocket for a while now. Glad you agree. So Smith, dinner shift at the Hito and Monster Girl mini palace establishment?"

{ Cooking for another woman along with the crowd? I would never ignore a free meal. }

"Hito will write it off. Hell with it."

{ You truly are smarter than him. }

"Only in that regard. Don't ask me to sew. That is all his department that workaholic S.O.B." He chuckled and went for a sip of his coffee. "Though I get it now. Dating a monster girl isn't off the table."

{ Hehe. You don't say. }
