thirty two

it was soon morning and jimin had made his way back home. jimin stood at his front door, anxiety running through his body, scared that his mother was going to bite his head off.

"jimin!" grandma park exclaimed, worry spread across her face as she hugged her grandson. "i was worried you wouldn't come back..."

"we both were" grandpa park added, ruffling jimin's hair.

"oh he's back...jimin you need to start packing for australia, our flight is a few days away!" mrs park grumbled, she was serving business executive realness.

jimin didn't even reply, ever since he was young he knew his mother favoured her career over him.

the rest watched as she grabbed her work blazer and dashed out of the house into her expensive car.

"come sit in the living room dear, we need to talk" grandma park chirped.

jimin followed his grandparents into the living room, he sat on the perfect couch, that hadn't seemed to age as his grandparents sat in the ancient – yet classy – red armchairs.

"as we both know, you're very interested in this boy yoongi?" grandma park said trying to cover her smirk.

jimin just nodded, his cheeks becoming red.

"well...we haven't asked yet but we were going to ask your mother — and i use that term lightly — if you'd be able to live with us" grandpa park added, his aged features forming a smile.

"we know you'd be further from yoongi, but it's closer than australia" grandma park smiled, her eyes turning into crescents.

"really?!" jimin almost screamed, bringing his small hands to his flushed cheeks.

"yes really!"

"oh my gosh, thank you! thank you!" jimin spoke, his eyes becoming glossy as he hugged his grandparents tightly.

"go on now, go tell your lover boy" grandma park laughed, ushering the boy to the front door.

jimin did just that, sprinting as fast as his smol legs could, taking the route he took almost everyday. he burst through yoongi's front door, seeing yoongi sat lazily on the couch eating cheetos.

"ever heard of knocking" yoongi mumbled, eyes glued to the tv screen.

"yoongi! yoongi!"

"what? what?"

"guess what?!" jimin beamed with happiness as he crashed next to yoongi, his smile making the older melt.

"for the third time what?" yoongi chuckled, his fingers playing with jimin's hair.

"my grandparents said i could move in with them! and not go to australia with my mum! i know it'll still be a three hour train journey...but i'll still get to see you" jimin blabbers, playing with his hands; a habit he often did when feeling anxious.

"babe, that's amazing!" yoongi exclaimed, tackling jimin, leaving his tan skin in sloppy kisses. "and once i'm eighteen i can drive down to you! and then maybe, we could buy a little flat and decorate it all cute...y'know only if that's okay with you" he added tracing patterns in jimin's skin.

"i'd love that...we could get two cats and we can drink tea in the early morning on our own little balcony" jimin said softly, the exact image painted in his head making him blush.

"of course, baby" yoongi replied, kissing the younger's forehead.

"we have to do something special before i leave, i want my latest memories of you to be my most memorable" jimin blushed, locking his loving gaze with yoongi's.

"i'll plan something, don't you worry" yoongi smirked as he bopped jimin's cute button nose.

jimin snuggled up into yoongi, he felt soft and warm. the younger then came to realisation. yoongi hadn't formally met his wonderful grandparents.

"um...yoongi?" jimin mumbled, scared of being rejected.

"what is it babe?" yoongi replied, taking his eyes off the tv screen. his full attention on his beloved.

"would you like to maybe meet my grandparents, i understand if you don't want to becau—"

"of course i want to meet them, grandparents are cool af" yoongi smiled, his gummy smile piercing jimin's pure heart.

the two walked hand in hand out of the cul-de-sac, making their way to jimin's house. yoongi would often squeeze jimin's hand and the younger would return the gesture. the small action staining both their cheeks in a bashful tint.

"grandma, grandpa, i have someone who i would like you to meet!~" jimin beamed, ushering a shy yoongi into the living room.

yoongi stood awkwardly next to jimin, it was a cute awkward though. he held his left arm with his right hand (a habit out of anxiety). his hair was cutely styled in an effortless sense, and his button nose was a light pink.

"well who's this handsome heartbreaker?" grandma park smiled, setting her book down.

"don't be shy son, we don't bite, please have a seat" grandpa park added, gesturing to the small sofa placed across them them, with a glass coffee table in between.

"this is my boyfriend, yoongi!" jimin said proudly, finally feeling confident in saying that word; boyfriend. he loved the way it rolled off his tongue without worry or confusion.

"it's about time!" grandma park chirped, getting up and embracing yoongi in a safe hug.

"you do seem like a humble, ambitious young man, but listen here; if you hurt our mini, you'll be sorry" grandpa park said sternly.

"now dear don't scare the poor boy" grandma park chuckled, settling back into her seat.

"oh no sir, i would never do such a thing! i really love jimin, he makes me feel warm and at home. you may think i'm too young to know what love is, but with jimin it feels real and he gives me butterflies and i just want to protect him" yoongi rambled on, using a limited amount of vocabulary as words cannot describe how surreal being with jimin was.

the four continued to natter; jimin grandparents sharing baby photos and embarrassing stories of jimin, and yoongi relating with grandpa park about 17 hours of sleep a day, is just the right amount. jimin watched his boyfriend in awe, he felt like yoongi did genuinely love him and he knew he loved him too.
