Alexander by Christina Trajceski

First Impression: Yes finally there seems to be a good story on Alexander the Great.

One of my top ten favourite historical figures would have to be Alexander the Great. You could totally imagine my excitement when my first review request was on him. And I wasn't disappointed.

Like many authors we all have things to improve on. Though the setting out of this story was great there is still room for improvement. Despite contrary belief I like how it started with "I am Alexander". It shows the importance and self righteousness of the main character. I love how we started with his taming of Bucephalus as a young child as I absolutely love horses!

But the thing I would stress on most importantly would have to be attention to detail. The setting out of the premise was great. It would have been much more wonderful if there was solid description. It wasn't that the author wasn't capable. I could see a few glimpses of amazingness in the writing. I was most likely that they didn't have time or where in such an excited state to start their book that they simply overlooked a detailed description. I have done that many times and still continue to do so today. But my advice is when you write the next chapters first calm your mind then write, it helps a lot. I would also advise you to come back to the first chapter some time later and re edit parts.

Another slight detail would be the cover. I love how it is set out but maybe the font could stand out a bit more.

But other than that this is a great start to the story and I can't wait to see where it is going. This story has a lot of potential and I hope you keep writing it.

Since its only the first chapter I'll probably write another review when the story is finished or whenever you feel like I should.

I would recommend this to any lovers of historical fiction children and adults alike.

Rating 8/10.
