Cloud strife stared in the mirror, fixing up his tux, then going over to his drawer in his new apartment then taking out two silver hand guns. Both shiny, with a hint of lustre to it. He then slip them both into the holsters by his waist.
"Time to go to work." He whispered before leaving.
How did he get like this?
Well this was an start.
Cloud Strife was a proud, arrogant, swordsman. But that was in the past now. He was now an ex-SOLDIER, he had just got fired from his job. Just because he had took an attack from the enemy, for one of the Generals. At the time he got sliced right across the chest, and that left a bad scar for him, he was in hospital for about 2 days before he could've left. Here he was, now an Ex-SOLDIER, walking home to tell his mother that he was fired. But he had been sending her all of his Gil, to pay for her medication. She had got the Stigma version 2, it chooses when the person dies. But they had figured out a cure for this retched disease. One that could cure nearly any type of disease and make the immune system stronger. Now the sky was grey and it started to rain, Cloud walk down the street with his green SOLDIER bag on his back, earning weird glances and stairs from the random civillions. Now taking a left and going across the street, Cloud almost got hit by a hopeless driver, who was now yelling every swear in the book at him. With a glance at the man, he ignored his rudeness. Cloud had nearly got hit by a car, fired, and yelled at, he thought he would probably be dead at the end of the night, what next could the world throw at him?
He walked through the alleyways to get to his home. He was almost in one of the slums, and to his home. Cloud opened the door to his home, it may have not been the best looking home, but home was home, to Cloud at least. He was glad that he had clothing on his back, a roof over his head and a warm meal to eat.
To his right was a kitchen to the left was the living room and a hallway straight ahead about 20 meters away at then end of the hallway is Cloud's room and a small washroom, while his mother's room was a bit further back from his room. Cloud then walked into the living room, she had left the place the same before he had lest. Still clean and all. His mother: Claudia Strife, glanced right at him and was in shock. She got up quickly and embraced him, it was an nice embrace after all.
"Welcome home Cloud!" She smiled. She hadn't seen him in months, she was truly heart broken when she saw him here and living. She thanked the Goddess that he wasn't dead, kidnapped or missing in action.
"Hello mom," He held her tight, they hadn't seen each other in a while.
She then let go and asked. "How's the world treating my little Soldier?" Cloud then tensed up from the reminder. How was he going to tell his mother this? She would truly be sad. But it wasn't his fault, it was Shinra's father that did this! He was the one that fired him.
"Um...." He scratched the back of his head, not knowing how to put this.
"Oh! By the way I have a gift for you!" She smiled and went to the kitchen and then came back with a box that had a red ribbon on it.
"What's this?" He asked.
"Open it." She waved her hand, at the box for him to open it.
He pulled the ribbon and opened the box, his eyes widened to see a small, fluffy, yellow, Chocobo. It tweeted and look at Cloud.
"Wow mom, thank you." He gave her another embrace. He couldn't ask for anything better to cheer him up. But, she had gave him a gift, and now he had to give her a gift of bad news? Bad idea.
"So. Why are you home so early?" She asked siting down on the leather couch. Now patting for him to sit down beside her. Taking his hands into hers.
"Um. Mom to tell you the truth," He started and look at the hardwood floor, then back at her.
"I was fired." She all of a sudden had a dismayed look in her eyes, she was truly sad.
"Oh Cloud," She put a hand on her forehead.
"And, I would rather not explain it." Cloud replied, breaking the conversation.
"Sorry mom." He sighed.
"Just go get some sleep, I bet you had a long day." She smiled, hiding the fact that she was very sad. He walked out of the living room taking his little Chocobo friend with him, he then glanced at the table and saw a pile of envelopes, he knew they were in a money crisis, he couldn't pay for the bills and now his mother's medication. She was dieing and he knew it, he was very sad at the thought and the well known fact. He then heard sniffles, his mother was now crying. He kept walking until he was in his room, shutting the door quietly. He sat on his perfectly made bed, that had been sitting there ever since he had left. Cloud then took out the Chocobo, and put his old SOLDIER scarf in the box, he had that scarf for about 5 years now. He then set the Chocobo in the box and put it on the night stand right beside him. Cloud thought about what other job could he do. After about an hour of thinking he was knocked out cold.
*******
Morning came rather fast, the sky continued to mourn and the dew dripped down Cloud's bedroom window. He quickly sprang up and glancing at the clock that said 8 in the morning. He was late for his SOLDIER job.
Right. I was fired.
Cloud groaned in annoyance and fell right back down into his pillow, earning a really bad headache. It would have been nothing but a waist of time for him just to be laying around in bed all day. Besides, it would have been a waist of time, life, and air. He decided to get up without making his bed. Walking into the kitchen. His mother was siting at the chestnut coloured, wooden table drinking coffee and reading a flyer.
"Morning, Cloudy." His mother cheerfully said. He pored himself a mug of coffee. What else would wake him up and slap him in the face to totally be awake? Coffee would. Cloud didn't even bother to put anything in his coffee, he just walked to the table, and sat across his mother. Cloud took a small sip of his hot coffee and took a look at the paper. He practically skipped the whole paper until the job wanted section. He picked up a dark green felt pen and twirled it in his between his 3 main fingers on his right hand. Then it hit him there was a job open. A Dishwasher. It may have not been the greatest choice but, it will do. Cloud then circled it and took out his flip phone and dialled up the number to apply for the job. The restaurant owner told him to meet at 10 in the night.
Why so late?
Cloud thought. But he waited from sun up and to sun down, it was about 9 pm. He told his mother that he was gone for a walk. So he decided to head over to the location. After about 20 minutes of walking he found the restaurant and originally the owner told him to meet in the back. Knowing it was early he leaned against the brick wall, waiting until he would arrive.
Okay, now this was getting ridiculous, it was now 10:30 and he was late. Cloud was beginning to grow impatient with this owner. Now tapping his foot, he was then blinded by the sudden car pulling in and put in park right in front of him about 20 meters away from him. Two men step out of the car, one with auburn hair and the other with brown hair.
"Is he the guy?" The one with auburn hair asked.
"That's what I heard, the ex- SOLDIER." The brown haired guy said as they both walked closer and closer to Cloud.
"Cloud Strife, right?" Genesis asked.
"Maybe, maybe not. Who are you guys?" Cloud asked, crossing his arms, watching their every move.
"That's classified." The one with auburn hair replied. Both men were in tuxes, very suspicious.
But Cloud then saw stars and fell to the ground knocked out cold. The brown haired guy had hit Cloud strife in the head with the hilt of his hand gun.
"Did you really have to hit him with the gun?" Genesis asked.
"What? He knew too much already. We couldn't have let him walk away he would have gave away who we were." The brown haired guy said to Genesis and pointed at the knocked out Cloud.
Now Genesis was walking towards the black vehicle that was in park.
"Well. Since you knocked him out your the one who gets to drag him to the trunk." With that Genesis got into the driver's seat.
