At some point, Kailua realised they'd all drank way too much. She couldn't really remember at which point the last of her soberness left, but she thinks it was somewhen around the time when Ao'nung passed out in the surf and Rotxo vomited by Ronal's feet. Obviously, being the good sister that she was, Kailua very nearly wet herself laughing at them both. Ao'nung wasn't the best at holding his fruit juice mix, and he never had been. Rotxo had been in a drinking contest with his older sister, much older sister, who could very much hold her own, long before the others arrived. Kailua sat next to her younger sister, who was finally old enough to drink with, smiling widely at the lovelorn gaze she directed at the eldest Sully.
Kailua tried to elbow her softly but missed and fell backwards off the log, wheezing with laughter. Tsireya tried to help her up but fell over as well. "You should go for it!" She slurred slightly. "You'll regret it if-if you don't," She whisper shouted. Tsireya tutted as she swayed where she sat. "Fine! Fine!" Tsireya exclaimed, struggling to pull herself upright on the log. "I'll do it!" Kailua stayed lying on the ground, watching the stars shine brightly above. A sudden sharp pain on her arm had her roll over with a groan. "I'm not go-going on my own!" Tsireya slurred slightly. "Jesus, fine," Sometimes sky people's words just fit, you know?
The two sisters stumbled over to the Sully brothers, Kailua shoving her sister in front. "Go on!" She hissed, poking her shoulder. She dropped to the ground, resting her back against the log the brothers were on, waiting. Tsireya waved shyly. Her eyes shot to the younger Sully brother, embroiled in an argument with his sister, then to Kailua. Thankfully, her drunk-addled brain understood enough. "Hey, Neteyam?" She broached. Tsireya's eyes widened frantically. "Could I be a pain?" She continued. Neteyam was slightly more sober than his company, so he smiled. "Sure. What's up?" Kailua gestured to her sister. "Tsireya, bless her soul, is too drunk and shy to ask Mama for more fruit juice. Could you?" Neteyam narrowed his eyes slightly. "Do you not think you've had enough? I saw you fall earlier,"
Kailua raised her brow. Neteyam nodded. "Fine. Ok. You coming Reya?" Kailua kicked her sister's shin, pointing harshly at Neteyam's waiting form. She skipped off happily. Kailua found herself drifting to sleep against the log, despite Lo'ak and Kiri shouting at each other about who was the better swimmer. At some point, Neteyam and Tsireya returned, chatting happily... rather, drunk, no filter Tsireya was chatting and Neteyam was listening with the occasional word thrown in. A while after they returned, the area quietened down. In her dozing state, Kailua felt a hand touch her shoulder. "We should wake 'em up. Make sure they get home ok," Neteyam said. Lo'ak, as Kiri had retired to bed hours ago after she lost the argument, snorted. "Maybe make sure they don't die from puking in their sleep. They drank loads bro. More than Dad and Norm, even." True. Neteyam laughed. "They're gonna be so sick tomorrow. I doubt we'll see them for a while,"
"Not like fish lips. He passed out hours ago," Lo'ak laughed. "Or Rotxo. Man puked in front of Ronal. I'd be surprised if she doesn't beat him for it," Neteyam laughed along. Kailua smiled softly in her sleep. Despite being beyond buzzed, it was nice to hear them laugh with each other. It grew quiet for a while. "I can tell you still love her," Neteyam said. The hand on her shoulder grew tense but didn't move. "Is it that obvious? I really wanna stop but..." The hand moved slightly, as if in the beginning motion of stroking. "I can't. She's got me completely whipped,"
The hand stopped again. "Bro, she loves you as well. I think you two are the only ones who don't see it. Even Mom asked me when you're gonna get back together with her again," The brothers were quiet for a moment again. He loved her? Still? Maybe there was hope... albeit a little, but nonetheless! Eventually, though, all good things must end. Neteyam sighed. "Come on. We're gonna be rough in the morning, but Mom and Dad will make us get up. The more sleep we get, the better."
There was a soft grunt as Neteyam picked Kailua's passed-out sister. At that point, Kailua opened her eyes. "You can put her in the Tsahik hut," She said. "That way, she can suffer in peace." At Neteyam's slightly worried eyes, Kailua sighed. "I'll stay with her as well. Make sure she doesn't die in her sleep," Looking happier, Neteyam continued picking her up. Tsireya suddenly shot bolt upright and began gagging behind the log. Kailua turned away with a shudder, Lo'ak snorted and Neteyam began rubbing her back. "Bring her back when she's done. I'll wait for her," She directed. Neteyam nodded.
Around halfway back to the hut, a trip that usually would've taken five minutes from the beach now verged on eleven thanks to her stumbling, she felt a presence by her side. "You're beyond wasted," Lo'ak said. Kailua hummed. "Probably. Looking at the sky helps me not spin," She frowned. "Helps to not spin," No. "The world doesn't move," She finally said. Lo'ak chuckled. "I'll walk you back." He said.
They walked in silence, with Lo'ak occasionally grabbing her arm to stop her fall or warning her to look out for a stray pebble. She pushed the beaded cover of the hut aside and walked in. She lit a candle that Norm had given her to help brighten the room a little. When she turned back to remove her party accessories, she bumped into Lo'ak's chest. She stumbled slightly, with his hand reaching to grasp her forearm. They stayed like that, close and silent, for a while. She felt her body begin to grow hot, much like it used to in the early days of their relationship.
Taking her drunk form as cover, she reached forward and kissed him. Lo'ak froze briefly before kissing back. Kailua moved her hand to his chest to balance herself. Lo'ak's hand rested on her waist. For some reason, this felt completely normal, as if he wasn't an ex that caused her so much upset... despite it kind of being her fault at the same time. He kissed more forcefully. She pushed back, not breaking the kiss.
He pushed her against the hut wall. One hand rested just above her shoulder, and the other wrapped around her waist. He kissed her roughly, but Kaila fought back, engulfed by a sudden primal lust. His hands roamed her back and hers in his hair... his fluffy, soft hair, for once let out of its multiple braids. She broke the kiss briefly to pull off the chest cover and pressed her mouth to his. Kailua felt his hands wrap around her waist and she jumped, wrapping her legs around his hips.
He readjusted his arms, one tightly clutched around her chest, the other wrapped around her waist. Lo'ak pulled away from the wall and carried her over to the table, pushing all the bowls off and onto a bedroll. One hand remained supporting her body. The sheer strength he possessed made her more hungry for him. Kailua could feel his hot breath on her neck. Within a second, his lips were back on hers, hungrily kissing. He gently put her on the table without breaking the fight for dominance.
She couldn't help the grin. "What're you smiling about?" He asked against her teeth. Kailua shook her head, "Doesn't matter," She answered breathlessly. He leaned over her, his body in between her legs, one arm holding steady just by her hip, his hand softly resting on her waist. Lo'ak's lips were soon on hers, kissing her furiously. She ran her hands through his hair and moaned as he sucked on her neck. Lo'ak began kissing down her body, reaching her belly button. Kailua couldn't help but groan as her legs wrapped around his waist. She threw her head back, panting, as he reached her loincloth.
TIME SKIP
Kailua wiped her eyes with a groan. "You done, sister?" Tsireya asked, pulling her hair out of the way. Kailua sighed shakily. "I think so," She mumbled. "Ok. Let's get you cleaned up then,"
Kailua managed to wash herself clean while Tsireya prepared her more healing soups. She wrapped the blanket her mother made her as a baby tightly around her shoulders as she settled into the clean bedroll, courtesy of her lovely and caring younger sister.
"How are ya, pukey?" She smiled tiredly at her older brother. "I'm ok. I'm not actively puking anymore, so you can come in." He walked in, placing a pile on the bed. "Tsireya made me get this stuff. Said it should help," Kailua reached down and rifled through it, frowning.
"Oh, Dad's planning on running a training session with the forest people again," Kailua's head shot up at the mention. "Why?" She asked. Ao'nung shrugged. "I dunno. Dad seems intent on training the clan in forest territory like the mangrove forest. Makes me wonder what's going through his mind," Kailua continued frowning. "I wouldn't worry. He probably wants Jake to teach us. Let's be honest, Nung, nobody can reach the top of the trees like they can,"
She gestured to the sick pan. "At least I have an excuse at the minute," Ao'nung wrinkled his nose. "Mmm," He mumbled. Kailua fake gagged, wheezing when he gagged back. Ao'nung was nothing if not a sympathy puker. That's why he slept in a different hut during Mama's first few months of pregnancy with Aroh.

"Kailua... Can I ask you something?" Kailua looked up with a frown. "Sure, what's up?" Tsireya fiddled with her hands. "Is everything... okay? You... you haven't asked for any cycle stuff this month," Kailua huffed out a laugh. "I'm probably just late. It's never been a typical cycle, Reya. Prob'ly stress,"
Tsireya wrang her hands again.
"You know you can tell me anything, right? Even if you can't tell Mama or Dad, you can always come to me," Kailua scanned her little sister's face. "Well, yeah. I know that... Tsireya, you're being odd. Why?" Tsireya sighed. "It's just... you've been sick now for, what, five... six weeks? It's not flu, that usually clears up within two..." She took a breath. "Kailua, have you... been with anyone?"
Kailua opened her mouth to answer but paused. Images of hers and Lo'ak's drunken night rushed through her mind. Eywa, how could she be so stupid!? They weren't even official mates! The clan would be disgraced if word got out that she was with child outside of a relationship. Her parents would have no choice but to force the courtship or ban them both from the clan and by extension, the Sullys would have to leave again. This time with a higher chance of refusal of safety.
"Yoo-hoo? Kailua?" She blinked at Tsireya's clicking fingers. "You spaced out on me for a moment there. Are you ok?" Kailua shook her head. "Fine, I'm fine. I was just thinking." Tsireya made a face. Kailua looked away. "I... might have been," She sighed harshly, glaring at the ground. Tsireya was quiet for a moment, obviously thinking if her tail waving behind methodically was a giveaway. "It was Lo'ak... wasn't it?" She finally whispered. Kailua stayed still, refusing to look up to meet her eyes. "We don't even know if you're pregnant yet," Tsireya said suddenly. Kailua glanced up, frowning. "I think it's pretty obvious, Reya. No cycles, sickness, moodiness," She felt a heat rush to her cheeks as the final word tried to burst forth; Hunger for mating. Lo'ak had called it "horny" which was a slightly easier word to remember.
When Mama was pregnant with Aroh, outside of her sickness, she and Kailua's dad had frequently left early in the morning, late at night, whenever they wanted, and always came back happier with slightly messier hair. It was traumatic to witness as they fumbled for an excuse.
"Nevertheless. Let me make you a tester," Tsireya argued. "Then we can see for certain," Kailua glanced to her feet and then back up at her sister. "Why are you so insistent on helping me with this? If I am pregnant, Reya, that's a crime in the clan. Lo'ak and I would have to complete Tsaheylu within the next two weeks to avoid suspicion." She argued. "By extension, you'd be exiled as well," Tsireya shrugged. "And? I'd gladly be exiled if it was to help a loved one,"
Kailua broke down into tears.
