~Chapter 6~

"Undyne, you can't tell anyone. I already know a lot of people here don't trust me and I don't want to scare any of the few people I have away. As far as I want them to know, this is the first ever traumatic thing that's ever happened to me. Please promise you won't tell!" You pled.

"(Y/N), it's going to cause a lot of trouble if you keep stuff like that bottled up. You'll blow and people will get hurt."

"I promise I won't blow! Some of it I haven't even told the monsters back home and I'm still going. Please just promise me...."

Undyne sighed dramatically but flashed you a cheeky grin. "Okay punk, I promise. I won't spill a word about it to anyone."

You hadn't noticed the creaking entry until they spoken. "About what?" A childish voice rang.

Your eyes darted to Frisk's image and your heart stopped. Another person came in behind them waving nonchalantly. Your face reddened with mad.

"Hey Asshat, weren't you supposed to be watching Frisk? Did you even read the note?!" You hissed, instantly snatching Frisk in your arms.

G!Sans shrugged. "I read it but both Frisk and I got bored of the house. So I decided to bring the kid to come meet Undyne."

Frisk turned his gaze to me. "I thought you were going to the lab." Frisk inquired.

"I-I did! I just ran into Undyne on the way back and we got to talking. We're best friends now."

Frisk grinned widely. "So you're okay!"

You nodded and he jumped up, doing an adorable happy dance. Undyne laughed and patted his head. "Kid, you're pretty cool."

Frisk just beamed and continued his dance. G!Sans chuckled, leaving you feel annoyed.

"I'm still mad at you jackass. If I hadn't worked things out with Undyne then Frisk could've been in danger." You nagged.

"But he wasn't. That's the important part."

"The fact that it was even a possibility is what pisses me off! I get that your fused and all but if you just be a bit more like the Sans I know will take the precautions needed to keep him safe."

G!Sans grin fell. Frisk stopped his celebration and patted your knee. "I'm okay (Y/N). I can protect myself when I need to." He reassured.

You smiled and hugged him. "I know Frisk. I've just seen you through a lot and I worry about you."

"You sound like Toriel." Frisk giggled.

"Hey, that's a good thing. Toriel is awesome." You countered.

Frisk giggled and moved to talk to Undyne. You watched happily until a hand rested on your shoulder. You looked back to be G!Sans towering over you.

"Can we talk outside?" He asked.

Your heart dropped immediately with your smile but you nodded. "We'll be back in a bit." You called to Undyne and Frisk as you closed the door.

G!Sans led you a little bit away from the house, leaned against a tree and faced you. His expression was solemn as he lit a smoke and offered you one. You declined promptly and leaned on one of you hips.

"What do you want Bone Boy?" You asked coldly.

G!Sans chuckled. "Bone Boy?" He shook his head. "You're loosing your edge (Y/N)."

"Just tell me what you want." You retorted.

He'd be better off dead. He endangered Frisk and doesn't even act like he cares. Why don't you just let me kill him.

"Shut up..." You growled, thumping your own head.

"I haven't even started." G!Sans said.

"That wasn't met for you." You said quickly. "You wouldn't understand."

He raised a brow. "And would Sans? Papyrus? Undyne?"

Your blood ran cold. "What's your point? Are you trying to make me mad?"

G!Sans shook his head. "I'm just making a point. Clearly, you trust Undyne here. Based on what I heard, not much just so you know, you were talking about some soul searching shit. You trust Papyrus, Frisk... probably all the monsters......... Except  me."

You raised a brow. "Get to the point."

"I wanna know why you don't trust me." He said.

You burst out laughing. "You can't tell?! You tried to kill me the first time we met and you haven't made matters any better by acting like a flirtatious douche!"

He sighed. "I'm not trying to be. I do want you to trust me. Yes I was a douche when I tried killing you on sight but since then I've been trying to treat you like I treat everyone."

"I'm sorry Sans but the way I see it, you're a prick. First impressions have been everything to me since the incident and yours wasn't all that good."

"Incident?"

Your face flushed and you tried moving on. "The incident isn't the point. I don't trust you because I can't stand it! You're supposed to be a friendly, funny, adorable skeleton that cracks puns and can still be a shoulder to cry on and to panic to when shit like Chara happens to me but instead I'm seeing a dick of monster that can't keep it in his pants!"

He sighed again. "You know, that Sans is still here. This me, the monster in front of you, is just the product of a fusion. I'm still Sans, just with an expansion."

You shook your head. "Even if you were Sans, you wouldn't be him. Tell me, how many times have you met Frisk?"

"Well once. There's only one timeline, though Gaster theorizes about the possibility of more."

You nodded. "Well, go ahead and check that as confirmed. This timeline, the one we're in, is the first. I did something that means it may be the only but I can't make promises. Back in my home, Sans has lived through thousands of timelines because of a little shit named Chara. He's seen the monsters freed a million times, he's see his brother die, he's had to kill his best friend.

The reason Sans is a shoulder for me to cry on is because he's felt pain closest to mine. You are not Sans nor will you ever be him. Get that into your thick skull."

There was quiet as he looked at you. His hand reached to your face and brushed your cheek, coming away wet. You touched your own cheek and looked down at the phantom traces of tears you hadn't noticed. As you look at your wet fingers, arms latched around you. You didn't move as G!Sans wrapped you in an embrace.

You sat in his arm silently as he took a deep breath. You took a deep inhale of his scent, feeling oddly comforted. When he spoke, his voice was low and soft.

"Look (Y/N), I'm sorry I can't be your Sans. I'm sorry I made a back first impression and I'm sorry you can't trust me enough to tell me the real story. But I want you to trust me. While you're here, I'll help you however I can. I can't stand seeing a lady cry." He cooed.

You buried your face into the fur of his hood and curled your arms against your chest. He chuckled quietly, but not in a making fun sorta way, more of a thankful kinda tune.

"I'm sorry for acting like a spoiled child." You muttered into the hood. The fact that he understood amazed you.

"I can't say I acted any better." He admitted.

You laughed and pushed back from him. Something was tugging at the back of your head but you couldn't pin it. It was like an annoying itch you could read.

"I'm going back inside." You informed.

He nodded and followed you inside. Undyne didn't notice as you walked in but Frisk immediately ran to your side.

"You were yelling. What's wrong?" He asked.

You smiled and patted his head. "It's nothing. My temper just snapped a bit. We're okay though."

Frisk eyed you suspiciously, then G!Sans before letting it slide. "Okay, but I'm watching you two."

You rolled your eyes and lifted him on to your hip. You looked over at the screen in front of Undyne.

"Oh my god! Are you watching (favorite anime) (F/A)!"

Undyne turned around and smiled at you. "Yeah, Alphys lent it to me. Wanna join?"

You nodded excitedly and set Frisk down so you could sit next to Undyne. Frisk sat on your lap and G!Sans sat on your other side. When you saw the cigarette still in between G!Sans teeth, you yanked it out and stamped it on the ground.

"Frisk is literally a few inches away from you ya idiot. No smoking."

"Buzzkill."

"Child endanger-er."

Frisk rolled his eyes and laid across your and G!Sans lap. "Seriously Frisk? There's another seat."

"Yeah but you're more comfortable." He replied.

He promptly fell asleep and you internally screamed. When Frisk slept he looked to innocent to bother. You didn't have the heart to move him.

G!Sans adjusted more easily, throwing an arm over the back of the couch and keep his legs crossed to support Frisk's lower half.

"You're a lucky bastard ya know. You don't get sore from sitting still for hours on end."

He shrugged. "I get bored though."

"You have anime now! Shush!"

He chuckled and looked at the screen. An intense conversation was happening on screen and you instantly silenced. You were so consumed in the show, you hadn't realized when you fell asleep against G!Sans. It took until you saw a damned child to know you were asleep.

"PAPYRUS!" You screamed, shooting up from your sleep.

You're heart felt like it was about to break your ribcage. Red blinded your covered eye and your teeth grit painfully. You almost didn't notice the person speaking in your ear. You jumped as someone shook your arm and you whipped around. G!Sans was looking at your with worry. Frisk was no where to be found.

"(Y/N), what happened? Are you okay?" He asked.

You ran your fingers through your hair and sighed. "Uh, it was nothing. Just a nightmare..."

He scoffed. "Yeah. 'Just a nightmare.' I've heard that before. Spill."

"I don't want to talk about it right now." You said.

He furrowed his bro but didn't press it. "Not even gonna tell me why you yelled my brothers name?"

"Not your brother. My Papyrus. Your brother is G Paps to me." You explained.

He peered at you curiously, making you uncomfortable. "Why are you staring at me?" You asked.

"I'm trying to read you. I'm usually good at it. Well that and your eye seems different."

"My eye?"

You realized what he meant and clamped a hand over your ruby colored eye. "Did Frisk see it?!" You asked.

"I'm the only one here dove." He replied.

You sighed in relief and cradled your head. Silent tears decorated your cheeks but you didn't want to explain them. G!Sans waited for you patiently to calm down before speaking again.

"Hey (Y/N), ya done freaking out?" He asked.

You nodded and recommend your hair over the eye. His gaze was drawn to your discolored eye, making you flush.

"Why were you so scared about your eye? What's so wrong with it?"

You laughed nervously and shook your head. "G!Sans, can you make me a promise?" You asked.

"Yeah, sure. What's up?"

You took a shaky breath. "Do you remember me talking about a little fuck named Chara? And about me making it so you might only one timeline?"

He nodded. "What about it?"

"G!Sans, I interrupted the timeline. The way it's supposed to go is Frisk deals with a demonic child's spirit and it caused him to slaughter all monsters. When I came to this AU, your Chara had a chance to have a stronger host."

He fell silent.

"Chara chipping at my control. I need you to make me a promise."

"(Y/N)-"

"Please Sans!" You cried.

He was alarmed when you dropped the G! from his name. "What (Y/N)?"

"If I loose my control, before we can get me outta here, I want you to kill me."

He leapt from his seat. "We literally just became friends and you want me to kill you?!"

"Only if I can't hold out! I couldn't live knowing I was killing my friends. No matter the AU."

G!Sans shook his head. "I couldn't kill you. Even if I wanted to."

I growled and threw your head back. "Don't make this harder please! I don't want to ask Undyne. It would kill her."

"And it won't kill me?! (Y/N), you've got a lot of monsters that care about you. The kid couldn't live without you, Papyrus would go into a depression. I-"

"Please..." Your voice came out in a whisper. "Even if it's last minute. Please make me this promise. Please Sans.... Please...."

He watched as you broke into tears. Not a single sob rang the air but rivers of tears fell over you eyes and you shook to your core. Memories of the Genocide run were fresh in your head.

G!Sans sat next to you and placed his jacket around your shoulder. You instantly stopped shaking and looked at G!Sans. He lit a cigarette and sighed heavily. "I promise." He muttered.

You were almost surprised. Nodding, you gripped the jacket close and leaned against G!Sans, calming down quickly.

"Hey G!Sans..."

"Yeah?"

"Thank you..."

"..."

You hugged him. It was a bit odd hugging a skeleton with some sort of cushion over their ribs. All G!Sans had was a grey turtleneck without his jacket. He wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you back.

"Yeah. Okay..."
