Imminent Death
For the last time the city would wake up
And the crystal clear sky above torn apart
For the day that we once lost
For all the innocent paying their flaming debts
For the man who fell to his own death
Tumbling in all manners of positions
For the tragedy drawn in the sky with ink of panic
And the smoke grinning with anger
And for all the souls frozen in mid air
For the East River breathing pure terror
As the towels fell to earth
And the millions of eyes never blinking
For the ones who still remember the flames,
And the fires of hell,
Suffocating in their own memories
For the day that the world will never forget
For the city that will never sleep
Mourns the ilution of peace
For all the tears that fell in the never-ending well
For the station on the way of yesterday
For the taste of resentment
