Poem #11

MOTHER-DAUGHTER

I'd always watch the other girls,

Hold their mothers for comfort,

Wondering why you wouldn't touch me.

We'd be next to each other,

But hearts far apart,

A family with a bond that couldn't be blood.

Whenever you hit me,

I thought it was out of love,

Until I learnt better.

Some girls wish for a mother,

Yet I,

Knowing better,

Watch them sadly.
