Chapter 2
"Then talk." I said gruffly, leaning in even closer to him. He was breaking. He was a man in his thirties. He was tall, and had a beer gut. He had wild green eyes, combed back slick black hair, and a small mouth. He was wearing a nice suit that was black and white. And one look in his let me know I was getting to him.
"Everything you want is on my cellphone. It's all on there! Please, I beg of you, just stop." he practically screamed to me, and then started bawling. I had the information in my grasp, and I had kicked it away.
"What!" I growled out at him, my frustration showing. "Everything we want, is on your phone!" I practically screamed. I took a deep breath and started walking for the door. "I'm done!" I yelled as I threw the door open and went straight to the barn. Not even sparing a glance to see if I had hit anyone. I shoved the barn door open and stamped in to my motorcycle.
"What are you doing" Richard asked leaning against the frame of the barn door. Staring right at me.
"I had the phone within grasp, and I kicked it away." I said staring at him, almost helplessly. I had messed this up. I had ruined everything, and it was all because of that stupid kick!
"Well, then I guess we'll have to go and get it back." He said starting to walk towards me.
"No!" I yelled, and he froze in mid-step. "I made the mistake, I need to fix it. Plus you don't know where to look, I do." I said sliding onto the motorcycle. He simply nodded, walked back to the barn door, and opened it wide enough for me to go thru with ease. But before I could take off Dominique came in and gave me a once over.
"Contact us if you have trouble." He said gruffly and left. I glared after him, and took off.

As I was driving down the road I couldn't help but smile. This was the first time in a long time I was on my own. Yes I would sit in position by myself getting ready for a mission. But I always had them in my ear. Now, the only reason they will be in my ear is if I try to contact them. I was speeding along until I got to the street where the phone was. It was filled with cops and innocents. They were still going thru the rubble at the Movie Theater to see if there is anyone underneath it. I could feel a tear trying to force it's way thru. I hated it when we got innocents involved, but we needed a distraction to get away with Mr. Grayson.
I put my motorcycle in a parking space and paid the fee. I started walking towards the alley, making it look like I was a concerned citizen. As I was nearing the ally, I was getting ready to slide into it unnoticed, but that is when I noticed someone standing in the alley, trying to hide in the shadows. I froze when I realized he was staring right at me.
He seemed to have noticed me freezing because he pushed himself off the wall and walked straight at me. "How are you this fine evening?" He asked with a cute little smirk, but also a knowing look.
"Fine, though it seems like others aren't." I said in my cute little country accent, or at least that's what Richard calls it. Looking at the Theater where we had set a bomb with a sad face.
"I'm sorry, but are you from Tennessee, cause well, your the only Ten I see." He said smugly.
"Nice try buddy, but I'm not into having a relationship with some random guy." I said as sweetly as possible. I hated it when boys flirted with me, brings back to many memories. Though he took me off guard when he laughed, not just a snicker, but a loud boisterous one. Drawing every eye to us.
"A girl with a smart mouth. Along with Southern charm. You must be irresistible to the guys." He said, his Green eyes laughing. He sure is handsome, but as much as I enjoyed a break from being an assassin, I needed to get back to work.
"Sorry, but I am kinda in a hurry, and well that ally is a shortcut for me, so if you'll excuse me." I said, but as I was starting to walk past him he grabbed me by the arm, hard. "Umm, excuse me but could you let go!" I growled at him, my anger showing.
"That ally is a dead end." He said looking at me with those beautiful lush green eyes. "I believe you are here for something else." He said gruffly. I secretly loved the way he was looking at me, even though they were filled with anger. He was handsome, and he sure had an affect on me.
"What are you talking about?" I asked hesitantly. If he was anything like my partners I would need to tread carefully.
"This." He growled out, showing me that Mr. Grayson's phone was in his hand. I froze.
He leaned in, practically putting his lips against my ear. "Where is he? Where is my father?" He asked with a voice like syrup. I almost didn't realize he called Mr. Grayson his father.
"I don't know what your talking about." I said trying to pull away. But he had too tight a grip for me to slip out of. "Let go of me!" I screamed, hoping that the police will just register that he has a hold on me, and not that I am the one who set off the bomb last night.
"Excuse me but do we have a problem here?" asked a gruff voice behind me. I turned my head the slightest to see that it was a police officer.
"No sir, my girlfriend and I are just having a disagreement." the young man said, tightening his grip on me even more.
"Girlfriend! I barely even know you!!!" I yelled, trying to tug my arm away, but to no avail. I was panicking, and it was clear to everyone. "Let go of me!" I screamed and tugged as hard as I could. I was drawing a lot of attention to me. Which in this case it was good to have the attention of the police.
"Sir, let go of this young ladies arm and we can talk about whatever is going on." The policeman said staring daggers at Mr. Grayson's son.
"I'll let her go, once she answers my question." He stated staring daggers back at the officer. "Now, WHERE IS MY FATHER!" he yelled at me tightening his grip yet again, I could feel a bruise starting to form underneath his hand.
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!" I screamed back at him, even though it was a lie. "Please just let me go!"
"Then why were you going into that alley to get my father's phone!" He asked gruffly turning to me.
I hesitated then I came up with something. "He was supposed to meet me and my brother to talk about a business plan today but he never showed. He had given me info on how to track his phone, so when he was an hour and a half late I decided to check it out." I said looking at the ground. "He said he always had his phone on him." I stated blankly.
What I said must of really taken him off guard, because he loosened his grip. Now was the time to act. I quickly yanked my arm out of his grasp, turned, and elbowed him in his gut. When I elbowed him the phone fell out of his hand so I quickly picked it up and started running. I ran straight for my motorcycle. and slipped on and took off. Now I just needed to get back to the barn and give it to Shadow Hack.

As I was pulling up into the dirt driveway to the farm I stopped. I knew as soon as I went inside I would be asked what happened and if there was any problems. What did I want to tell them? Should I even tell them? I decided I would only say what I needed to say. So then I took off to the barn and went in. As I was sliding off of my motorcycle I could feel eyes watching me.
"How was the mission?" Richard asked coming up to me. His voice like melted gold, thick, huskie, and could get just about any girl to fall for him with just one word. But I am not one of those girls.
"Got the phone." I said tossing it to him. I didn't even look to see if he caught it.
"Is it just me or do you have a bruise on your arm?" Richard asked with concern in his voice. "Did you come across a problem during the mission?" He said moving ever so closer to me. The only distance between us was maybe a hands width. And did I just catch him eyeing me? What is there to see? I am small girl with dark brown hair that goes to about the middle of my back and has a slight curl to it. I have hazel eyes, and at the moment I was wearing a black t-shirt with jeans and a pair of black boots. I look like an average girl.
"Nothing I couldn't handle." I stated, staring straight up to his hazel eyes. His mousy hair was unkempt and he was wearing loose jeans and a button up black shirt that was only halfway buttoned. I could see the scars crisscrossing on his chest and his tight abs. Suddenly I didn't feel that comfortable around him. He was looking at me hungrily. Whenever I see a man look at me like that my blood turns to ice and I can't breath. And he noticed, he notices everything.
He stepped back and cleared his throat. "Um, Dominique wants to see you." He said and started to the door. Then he stopped and looked back. "Sorry Angel." He said with eyes full of sympathy, and was out the door before I could respond.
