I blinked back my vision from releasing the third eye, only to find myself fallen to the ground and Ryder staring down at me as I sit against his legs from where  I fell. 

"Miss Louis are you alright?" Ryder asked his eyes deepening with concern as he helped me up. we were nose to nose his hands giving me goosebumps all along my arms. I tried to speak but it was like being a fish out of the water, I didn't know what to say. but I managed to back away from him to Cali's side and she immediately calmed me with her fae powers. 

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said nodding 

"Cover the body back up I don't want to see it anymore," I ordered looking away from the body. 

Two investigators came to cover the body up with the body bag and took it into the ambulance to take it back to the compound to get autopsied. 

"Do fainting spells usually happen with you, Miss Louis?" Ryder asked

"You don't need to concern yourself with me Chief Woods. I promise I'm fine." I said 

"Very well, take the rest of the night off then you and Cali both." Chief orderd. 

"But, we need to figure out if Reapers are really back in town. We need to notify the council!" I said

"Its an order Miss louis go home! No need tot notify the council just yet. I'll worry about that. Get some rest." Cheif ordered again as he started walking away from us. I had to get away from this forest, something was off about it. Something terrible lurking in the woods.I couldn't get the itching feeling.

Back at my apartment I threw my things on the couch near by. My apartment was a cozy two bedroom place A small kitchen with a counter and a living room enough to fit a couch,Tv and two side chairs. And a computer moved to the side of the room to use for research. I sighed as Cali turned back to me. 

"What was that look you gave Chief when you bounced back from your fainting spell?" Cali asked putting her hands on her hips as if she was scolding me. 

" What do you mean?" I asked playing coy, I didn't want to talk about anything boys right now. The feeling that he gave me brought goosebumps along my arms and made me shiver a little. I didn't know what it was about him that made me feel that way. I've never had the cliche sparks and soulmate love. Never in my life.

"You know exactly what I mean, I can see it in your eyes Willa. You can't be after the Chief! He's our boss. And plus its forbidden to find a relationship in the force. You know that." Cali exasperated waving her hands in the air.

I knew that. It was wrong to fall in love with someone your working with, and for. Because if there's a field case and some danger rises up,then its bound to be the two lovers trying to protect each other. And that's how people get killed. 

I groaned, I can't deal with a love life now anyways. After my last relationship I don't want to get hurt again. Because  I know thats exactly what will happen with a guy like Ryder Woods. He's the alpha Werewolf And chief of police in Ancorage Alaska. And plus I doubt that he'd be looking for a relationship anyways. 

"I'm sorry, I'm being pushy again aren't I?" Cali sighed

" Yeah, you are.  You need to focus on yourself rather than trying to take care of me." I said taking off my blazer and walking to the couch where I can lay down. 

As I layed down Cali sat next to my feet, propping them up on the coffee table, silence brought between us. I didn't know what else to say after a long day at work. Though when are we off work? We're always supposed to be on call even if Our chief sends us home. 

"Mind as well get some shut eye Cali. We have a long day tomorrow." 

" We always have those. After work tomorrow we should just go partying." Cali grinned at me her green eyes sparkling with mischief. I rolled my eyes.

"This isn't the time to go partying Cali. We have an important case to focus on. We don't know if the Reapers are back or not or how. Because its next to impossible." I groaned out, I'm just not a party person, not one to bring to parties. I never even went to a homecoming for crying out loud. 

"Party pooper." Cali said pouting at me. 

"No, I can't deal with puppy eyes right now cali." I said pushing her with my foot, to which she grabbed and started tickling it. my overly sensitve feet. 

"CALI LET GO OF MY FOOT!" 

"Not until you say mercy!" 

"Never!" I cried out trying to resist the giggles going to burst through me as I struggle to release my foot. But damn she has a strong grip. 

"Say Mercy!" 

"NO!" 

A sudden knock on the door made us freeze in place. We exchanged a look with each other confused. 

"Were you expecting someone Cali?" I asked breathlessly from giggling so much and looked over the ledge of the couch to stare at the door. As if it'll willingly open. 

"No, I don't think so... maybe its a package." Cali said 

My breath hitched and I tugged on my foot to let Cali release it, to which she complied and I made my way over to the door cautiously. I didn't like the feeling I had out of this. Something felt odd. I needed to see what was beyond the door without opening it. So I turned on my Third eye. 

Everything went from colored to black and white as I scanned beyond the door. My Third eye can work as an X ray vision of sorts, to see what is beyond a human eye can see. There was no traces of an aura here but there was something on the ground. I released my third eye and everything Returned to color and I unlocked the door to find indeed a package as Cali suggested. 

I looked out into the hallway to see if there's anything lurking around the corners but there was only a window at the left end of the hallway and then the elevator at the right end of the hallway. No movement from either side. I glanced down at the box, it was a small brown box. Nothing written on it. Nothing showing who it addressed too. But it some how made its way to our doorstep. I didn't know who it was for and I don't know if I want to know whats in it. 

I released the breath that I was holding and bent down to grab the small rectangular box. It rattled as if something was inside it. Furrowing my brows I turned it over to inspect it, nothing  was written on it. I looked back at Cali who was watching me  with such intensity as if she was waiting to hear good or bad news. 

"Was there anyone?" She asked

"No. Just this small package." I said as i brought myself over to the countertop to lay it on there. 

" Who is it for?" 

"No idea. Do we have a letter opener?" 

"Should be in the draw of mindless crap we have." Cali said gesturing to the desk on the far left wall. I sighed and made my way over to the draw the top drawer in the dresser sure enough had a letter opener.  I took it and closed the drawer and made my way to the counter in the kitchen. 

I didn't know if I should take the leap of faith and open this box. But if Fate wanted this box delievered to our doorstep, not wanting anyone to find out who brought this box A million possiblities ran through my head of what could be in it. But its so small that it could be nothing but a piece of paper. Or just something that was lost. 

"Willa just open it. There's no reason to be afraid of a small box." Cali said. 

"Yes, but we don't know whats in it. And we don't know if its for me or for you or it could've just been here by mistake." I breathed out. 

"Curiousity killed the cat right?" Cali said gesturing to the box. 

I rolled my eyes and put on my big girl panties and braced myself as I started to cut off the tape with the letter opener. Once I had it open inside was nothing but a piece of paper like I thought it was. Unraveling the piece of paper that was folded so well, I saw what it said and it made me scared for my life.
