"The family ties have been broken and the reason remains hidden?"
Jungkook's grandfather read out loud, deliberately turning the pages of the newspaper and sighing, particularly giving some time of condemnation to the question mark.
Early in the morning, what he wanted was a cup of jasmine tea with his usual breakfast and a healthy conversation with his family. Not a broken relationship and a passed out grandson.
"This was not what I wanted." He stated clearly, even though no one was listening to him. "What happened to him?" He referred to Jungkook, the said boy still out of sight.
"He fainted." Hae replied, looking at her mother who just nodded.
"What did you both do?" He asked, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose as his eyes glared at them.
Silence hit the room again. No one dared to speak and the ones who were obliged to, didn't have any guts.
His eyes showed annoyance, mostly over the fact that his family took a step without considering a discussion with him. That they called the marriage off without asking for his permission. But as it was, he was also a grandfather and he also had softness, so there he was worrying about his grandson.
"I asked something." His eyes stared at the two lowered heads. He waited and soon enough gave up.
"If he has found out the truth... I'll be highly disappointed."
"He... has." Jungkook's father stuttered. He felt guilty, he was the reason why Jungkook had found the truth unexpectedly.
He was sorry and needed some time alone so he walked out of the room. He remembered the moment he had seen Jungkook's eyes, the same big doe eyes were scared once again.
He had been harsh the night before, so rude and harsh to his wife. A terrible husband. He had known that the woman loved her son more than anything, more than herself. Although the situation they had met in was bizarre.
He remembered that day better than anyone else and the memories dawned upon him sequentially. That accident had brought his wife nothing but dire nightmares and disturbances, sleepless nights full of guilt and a deep cut had been formed in her heart when her own baby died. Her miscarriage had led her to depression.
But Jungkook was her cure, her medicine, the only and real remedy that helped her back then and now as well.
Jungkook, oh Jungkook, he was just months old. He couldn't walk, he couldn't talk but his eyes had shown all his emotions. His sweet little Bambi eyes had cried and cried that thunderous night. His actual parents died miserably and he had felt unsafe in the unknown, horrifying atmosphere. He was scared.
But the little boy with Bambi eyes found warmth once she had taken him in her embrace. His eyes had stopped shedding tears, his agitated face had calmed, his red nose had scrunched sweetly and he had held the fabric of her shirt tightly, not letting go.
He had found his home.
As an equally sad and cursed mother, she had found a blessing in him. A small little angel that filled her life with hope and light, with new discoveries and new emotions. Love and compassion rooted in her and the seed of motherhood started to germinate in her broken heart. The roots binded the pieces of her heart together, held it together.
She had found her own piece.
The accident was buried and Jungkook was kept away from everyone. He wouldn't find out anything and he shouldn't, that was the chant of the house. He grew up in a lovely happy atmosphere with a very small amount of people in his life. But he was sent to school under a different name while he lived with his family in Korea. He had never found out the reason as a kid, they always told him that it was for safety purposes.
He hardly had friends and his life revolved around his family. Just like his mother's revolved around him. But he lived a splendid life. His parents had promised him to get whatever he wanted and they fulfilled it everytime. He'd get all the toys he wanted, all the clothes he'd like, all the riches of a royal was offered to him.
But Jungkook's father had always noticed the growing obsession in her eyes. She was overprotective of him. She loved him but she also isolated him, as if she'd never share him. She wouldn't let him be away and he didn't want that to happen. His son needed to learn that there was a life other than what he was living in his house. His wife needed to realise that she had another baby that she had to take care of as equally as Jungkook, that she couldn't stop and keep Jungkook for herself forever. He tried to explain her, persuade her calmly but they'd always end up fighting, without knowing that the poor little boy with Bambi eyes always heard them. But then a step was initiated and what was best at that moment was done.
Jungkook was sent away. To a different country. So that he could see a world that was different from his family, so that he could learn things openly that he couldn't, so that he could live with his real name and not become a shadow under a different name.
That was also important for his mother. She needed to learn and restrain her extreme emotions. She needed to provide her newborn daughter with the same amount of love and care. And so had she learnt and realised when Jungkook was taken away.
Years later when Jungkook returned back he was a new person. Smarter, taller and then a teenager. He was a calculated person but on the other hand he was still the same boy who loved his mother with everything. He was goofy, happy and bright. He didn't remember those fights or arguments his parents had, or that's what his father believed and still did.
He was not disclosed to the world yet and hadn't questioned it, he believed that it was still for his safety.
That was when he met Jimin, a boy two years older than him with chubby little hands, thick framed black glasses and a weird haircut. But he was more famous than Jungkook expected because of his potential dancing.
Jimin became Jungkook's bestfriend and he told him everything. How he felt sad when his parents fought and that he loved his little sister a lot. And as a loyal, honest friend he also disclosed to Jimin about his identity. As an equal loyal friend Jimin kept his secret and continued their friendship as if he had never heard of a 'royal'.
Jungkook's family was happy, for him they were happy and he was happy too. But then he entered the gamble of royalty. He was soon to turn eighteen and he was supposed to be revealed. It was exciting and new for him. A new adventurous feeling rose in him.
But then it broke to him - he'd be surrounded by media, wherever he'd go he would be treated differently, he wouldn't be the same Jungkook who could walk around without a worry on his mind, he'd have to follow the so called ethics and function just like royals did, he'd have to be perfect. But he wasn't and he wouldn't be ready for that.
So he asked for some time and left his home. He broke his contacts with his family and left them behind for all the while he could and entered Seoul, to start and live a new life for sometime before he was supposed to go back.

His eyes twitched as the bright light fell on them. His vision adjusted slowly and he looked around to find himself tugged in his bed under the plain white sheets. Under the white ceiling and amidst four grey walls, he laid staring at nothing in particular.
His eyes didn't move and his breathing didn't waver until he felt a palm smoothen his hair back.
"Mom." He said, rather than asking, without looking at her.
"Hmm?" He heard her ask softly.
"Am I... Really... You know? Uh-"
"That doesn't change the fact that I love you more than anyone else, Jungkook." She declared, a smile heard in her voice and the motherly affection filled her aura.
He felt like crying again.
"I'm sorry, baby." She spoke and Jungkook shook his head.
"It was my fault, I'm sorry." She said and he sobbed quietly.
"I just... I'm... We shouldn't have hidden it. But it just... I couldn't bring myself to believe that you're not my son."
'I am' He mouthed, hoping for her to hear him.
"Because I love you so much and so much more than myself, you know that, right?" He nodded immediately and finally looked at her. She was crying. And it broke his heart.
"I was selfish to want you just for myself. But what else could I do? You were my only cure, my only happiness, my only hope."
"You are m-my happiness, too, mom." He sat up, wiped away his tears with the sleeves of his shirt and then proceeded to wipe away his mother's.
"And because I want to see you happy," He continued, taking a deep breath before speaking again, "I'll marry Eun Ae." All that he had thought, all the time he had spent convincing himself was thrown away into the black hole of his emotions. All he saw was his mother and her happiness.
"No, Jungkook!" He frowned, looking at her confused.
Even if Jungkook was an adult, she was his mother. His mother. And how could a mother ever be so selfish to kill her own child's happiness. She was blinded by the extremities of her feelings, but now that she had gained some sense, she didn't want to do the same mistake again.
"No, no, no! You don't have to marry her to make me happy. You are more important than anything, than this royalty, Jungkook." Her palm cupped his cheek as concern clouded her eyes. "You, Jungkook, don't have to do anything because of us. Please. Not because of us. Let it be for us while it is for you. Let it be you before us. Let it be you and just you. Let it be your love."
"But-" He protested.
"No buts, Jungkook. We've called it off already, the marriage, and all you have to do is return back to yourself, the Jungkook you've always wanted to be. The Jungkook that you've become when you were with your love, the Jungkook that you truly are."
Life sprang in him.
But the reality still hadn't changed and a part of it, was still cursed.

"He... broke off?"

A/n
Y'all got Jungkook's backstory here and well Inaya was already introduced in the starting...
This story is officially nearing it's end slowly, because the updates have been slow, but yeah it is nearing it's ending.
And as an amateur writer, I'm satisfied with what I've written until now.
Be the best of you!
