I wish I could fly to you
Like a butterfly

785 missed calls. 1172 messages.
Her phone screen shone brightly on her face as the dark room took away all the other sources of light. Five days passed by, though nothing much happened.
She realised that this second heartbreak would last longer than the first one, even if her poor heart was used to it now. Maybe, she thought, her first love didn't prove to be as strong as this one and that somehow would answer why her heart was aching ten times more.
The past five days were spent in lethargy. As soon as Yoongi dropped her to the address she'd given him, she didn't bother waving him a goodbye and walked like a completely broken person into the house. Next she remembered was calling her family to tell them she was safe and back in town. When they'd ask her about her whereabouts she declined meeting any of them and asked for some peaceful time alone. Namjoon didn't bother her at all, to her likeness, but updated her on everything going around her.
She remembered leaving this room the day before yesterday and mused over how she was becoming more lazy as days passed by. Her stomach didn't growl as it used to do every few hours. Her lack of communal contacts made her relieved but bored. She didn't have anything else to do than staring at her phone for hours and munching on whatever food she got.
"For the last time, Inaya, if you don't open this door now, I'll fucking break it!" She heard the man roar and probably lunge at the door once in attempts to take it down, but to no avail because wide shoulders wouldn't give you the strength to break a door, she snorted.
Half heartedly she got up on her toes, missed her flip flops behind and sauntered over to the door, opening it just enough to peek outside. There she saw a man older than her, with his son standing beside him, and fury dawned on his face.
"What was the time when you ate last, huh?" His demanding tone made her roll her eyes in annoyance before she walked back inside, leaving the door open for him to enter. His three year old son waddled along with him and quickly ran over to Inaya, when he saw her plop down on the bed. He cuddled with her arm making her smile at his actions, softly and genuinely.
"Lunch, yesterday." She mumbled, staring at the boy lovingly before pulling him on her stomach and hugging him with all the affection, covering his form like a mama bear.
"And it's time for today's dinner. Mind eating something so that your poor stomach can stop grumbling every fifteen minutes?" The man softened his voice but spoke with the same firmness.
"I'm not hungry." She shrugged, playing with the soft locks of the small teddy bear like baby lying over her stomach.
"Inaya-"
"Jin, I'm not hungry." She spoke again, confirming her words with a nod.
"No! That's not how it goes. Just because that guy broke your heart you'll stop eating? Are you nuts? Where's the same Inaya who'd eat a whole combo pack without even sharing a single spoon?" He stared intently at her, waiting for her to reply but she didn't. Rather she just stared at him like a lost puppy with big shimmering eyes.
"He didn't break my heart," She murmured softly, tears threatening to fall off her eyes. "he left it destroyed." Once completed, her eyes didn't help in containing her emotions inside and spilled over a bay of tears, that quietly slid down her cheeks.
Jin couldn't help but stare at his friend in bewilderment. Although he knew she'd been crying to sleep every night and every morning she woke up with a slot of new tears, but he'd never actually seen her cry. The girl was too precious and always ended up brightening his day but now that she was in pain, he didn't know what to do.
As more tears fell out her eyes, that blurred her vision completely, she felt a small soft hand wipe them away for her. "Auntie cy no!" The small boy demanded and she chuckled through her tears, always ending up that way when the boy couldn't pronounce 'r' properly.
"Auntie isn't crying, my love." She soothed the boy, gently stroking his hair as he stared at her in amusement.
She'd be damned if she said she wasn't grateful to this small family who had accepted her in her worst. Jin's wife wasn't at all bothered to share her clothes with Inaya and even offered her a stay of rest without any hindrance.
The beautiful lady always cheered her up some way or the other and then Inaya had this small teddy in her arms who'd make her smile with his small incomplete phrases. Jin supported her as her own brother would, if she had one, and also presented a plan of 'Mission whip Jungkook's ass and stuff some sense in him'. But the idea was declined as her willingness to meet him was, also, long gone.
The small teddy bent forward to place a small kiss on her cheek and she bustled out in laughter, pecking his cheek in return. Placing him on the mattress of the bed, she got up and finally nodded to Jin, who squeaked in happiness before running out to tell his wife that Inaya would join them for dinner.
The small moment of ecstacy entered her as well, when she felt the delicious scent of food enter her nostrils. She helped the small kid jump off the bed and watched him waddle as she followed him outside and into the dining.
——×——
Five days and twenty one hours, he sighed when he noticed the arm of the watch hit nine. Another day would pass just like that. Without any movement, without any ideas popping in his mind as to how he should make up to Inaya. And, that being said, another day without her.
She didn't answer any of his calls, that he had lost count of, neither had she read any of his messages. He messed up big time, no doubt, but he had no idea how badly it was affecting her. Although his heart throbbed with pain in attempts to convince his mind to go and meet her, his coward mind thought of all the possibilities where she'd just hate him now.
He didn't realise that a sob of pain left his mouth and a stream of tears poured down his eyes. He kept on staring at his reflection in the mirror. He had stacked himself in his closet, which was the only place he could feel comfortable in. With nothing but blankets and pillows piled around him, he had been sitting there for the past days. Said days, he only visited his family during the meal time, and then broke off all the contacts whenever they tried to initiate a talk.
Still crying silently, he didn't notice a figure slip inside his closet and come and sit in front of him.
"Jungkook?" The said boy immediately looked up to meet his father's eyes and launched at him without any prior information. His silent sobs turned into cries of ache and he clung onto his father for his dear life.
His father secured his arms around his beloved child, gently stroking his back and comforting him with small hopeful words. It ached him to see his child like that, he wanted to see Jungkook safe and sound and happy but the antecedent events did the opposite.
The day he'd seen Jungkook completely broken, he didn't want to, but had to notice that the separation had affected his child severely. Other days Jungkook showed no emotion and lived on like a statue. His presence felt absent when the family would chatter while sharing some time together apart from the meals.
It defeated his father to realise that the said boy had never cried when he fell from atop of horses or when he'd bruise himself during his archery lessons but was pouring out now. He felt a need to secure his son and wrap him up in warmth. But he didn't know how.
When Jungkook pulled away from him, he saw the dark bags besmirch his son's beautiful eyes and his chapped lips giving way to a more pitiful look but out of all, the tears never dried away.
"I know I shouldn't be crying, boys don't cry..." Jungkook murmured between his sobs, looking up at his father.
"No, son, because you aren't crying, you're grieving." His father spoke in the softest voice as Jungkook saw a small smile lift up his lips and his hands brushed back the fringes on Jungkook's forehead. "And you're absolutely mistaken if you think that boys don't cry. Cry, Jungkook, cry all you want. There's no shame in doing so, son, and if you ever want a shoulder don't hesitate from coming to me. I'm always there for you, Jungkook."
The words only made Jungkook cry more, as he clung on his father again. The small words of hope and faith had made him realise for how long he'd bottled up his feelings of ache, covering them up in the beauty of moments spent with Inaya. But now that she wasn't there with him, he didn't have any medium to forget them, rather they piled up in heaps and flowed out, wetting the shoulders of his father.
