The Lockless Key
A heart without a hope
Existence without a legacy
Time without its end
Are keys without a lock
Mountains need their sky
To reach for
Though millennia will pass
And they'll still never meet
Just as laughter needs someone
Just to hear
To know it was ever there
The ying
And the yang
Are parts of a universe
That expands eternally
As we rush to fill it
Scrambling into a future we'll never know
Because
When everything is binary
There's only one certainty
Where there is life
There'll always be death
So, I wrote this in the middle of doing my ONC novella and the daily Poetry Versification contest. This is nothing to do with either of them!
I'm help run a writing group that meets every week for writing prompts and laughter. I gave the prompt this week, which was 'a key without a lock'. I was working on Black Thickett whilst there, but took a few minutes out to write this!
