Second Skin - Imperial

The empire stands beneath them

Their silhouettes carved by the sun

Perfection their imperial inheritance

And prestige the skin they wear

Cut from expectation

Their smiles fixed

Like marble statues

Cracking inside

Every step is rehearsed

Each breath observed

And every flaw

A scandal

The crown's gravity

Carried on spines unbending

Never causes a falter or fall

Because the empire never forgives a stumble

Here's the Poetry Versification 2026 day 17 entry, Imperial: 'They stood on top of the empire, always looking perfect and prestigious. What would it be like to carry the weight of being part of the imperial family?'
