-Chapter 9-
I looked at Eleanor. She had dark brown long wavy hair. She wore an oversized white t-shirt with a light blue boot cut jeans.
"Oh, uhm. Hi, my name is Victoria." I said as I smiled.
"I've noticed you for a long time now and I always wanted to be friends with you until you became friends with Hailey... Anyways, can we be friends?" Eleanor said.
"Sure!"
It's never been so easy for me to make friends. This is a good start to my day.
"Great! Are you free after school? Me and my friends are going somewhere. I'll introduce you to them, come!"
I followed Eleanor to the back of the classroom.
"This is Drew and this is Zane! We are all childhood friends. Zane, Drew, meet Victoria!" Eleanor said.
They both smiled at me and said hi. I waved back at them and smiled. Eleanor seemed nice. Maybe this can be a good start to my school year, all I need to do now is apologize to Oliver and then I'll have an even better life.
Like usual, the school day went by, and we went home. I didn't look at Quinn or Hailey today, I just ignored them. As I got home, I called my mom.
"What do you want Victoria?" My mom said.
Not even a hi?
"Hi mom. I was wondering if I can hang out with my friends today if that's okay with you." I said to my mom.
"Sure, but be home before 10 pm."
"Thank you! Bye mom."
"Bye."
I hanged up the phone and texted Eleanor that she can come over to pick me up. A few minutes later, Eleanor arrived at my house.
"Hey Victoria!" Eleanor said, "I bought dresses for us, do you mind wearing it?"
"Uhm, why? And hi!" I said back.
"Come on, don't be a sore loser now! Just wear it."
"Oh, ok. Thank you." I said as I got the dress.
I went to my room and put on the dress. It was a spaghetti strap black dress. It was a bit short. After I was done putting it on, I walked downstairs to the front door.
"Wow, it looks so good! Come, Drew and Zane are waiting for us in the car." Eleanor said as she walked to the car. I followed behind her. I sat down in the back of the car away from everyone else. It was kind of strange why I had to wear a dress, but I decided to not question about it. This is my only friend, and I can't lose her.
A few minutes passed and the car stopped.
"We're here!" Eleanor said. I looked out of the window. Is that a...
Bar?
"WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING HERE? WE'RE NOT EVEN 18!" I yelled.
"Calm down." Drew said, "We come here almost every day. My dad works here so they allow us in here."
"BUT STILL, MY MOM WILL KILL ME IF SHE FINDS OUT I CAME HERE!"
"And she won't know. Just have fun for once in your lifetime! I promise it's fun."
They got out of the car, and I decided to also walk out too. I looked around and I saw lots of other cars. I heard music coming from inside of the place. I didn't want to go inside, but I didn't have much of a choice. Well, I did have a choice, but I couldn't ditch them now.
We walked inside of the building. There were a lot of adults there and guards at the front entrance. Drew gave them something to scan and they let us through. The only thing I really wanted right now was a jacket. There was a lot of adults there and we seemed to be the youngest. Well, of course we are.
"Come with me!" Eleanor said as she grabbed my hand and ran somewhere. She went to the counter. Wait a minute, are we...
"ELEANOR, WE'RE TOO YOUNG TO DRINK! I'M NOT DOING THAT." I yelled as I yanked her hand away from mine.
"Really? Sometimes in life you have to break the rules. Come on, let's just do it."
"NO! I'M NOT DOING THAT! ACHOLOL CAN INTERFERE WITH YOUR BRAIN AND I'M NOT DOING THAT!"
"Dang... I thought you didn't know anything. It's usually your brother that's the smart one. The reason why I wanted to be friends with you is because I thought you liked doing those stuff. It seems like your just like all of those other losers I guess."
"Wait, no I'm not! I just don't want to drink. Drinking can also lead to diseases too, and if my mom every finds out that I've been drinking and I get a disease from it, I'm dead! I'm not classified as a loser just because I don't drink."
Eleanor shrugged, "Suit yourself."
"I think I should go now. My mom wants me home soon."
"Be like that then. Bye I guess." Eleanor said as she walked away.
I didn't need to apologize to her for not wanting to drink or stay at a bar. I just allowed her to walk away. After she walked away, I walked outside.
Wait a minute.
How am I supposed to get home? Eleanor drove me here, and I don't have enough money to get a taxi. There was only one option left to do.
Walk home.
I wish I bring a spare clothing since I had this dress on. My mom would know that I was doing something that I was not supposed to if she saw me with this dress.
"You're not going anywhere." I heard someone say. I looked behind me and saw Eleanor.
"What do you mean by that?" I said back curiously.
Eleanor smirked as I saw Hailey walk out of the bar too.
"Surprise! I gave you a choice, Victoria. You can't just deny it and accept that I will just ignore it; I don't do that business. From now on, no matter what you do, your life is ruined until you move. Welcome to Hilltop High School." Hailey said to me.
"W-what?! No wonder why everyone is scared of you and doesn't like you. Are you insane?! You can't do that." I said back to Hailey.
"And who said I can't do that? I'll just ruin their lives too. Maybe next time make sure you don't deny what I say to you."
"OKAY! I won't, just stop this now!"
"There is NO way to stop this, Victoria. You caused this by going against your brother. Now, the school doesn't like you, your parents still think your brother is better than you, and your brother doesn't trust you anymore. Everyone is scared of me because of what I do. There is NOTHING you can do about it!"
"J-just leave me alone!" I said as a ran.
"Don't you want a ride home?" Eleanor said as she laughed with Hailey.
I felt tears come down from my eyes. I wish I never came to this school. I wish I never were friends with Hailey. I wish I never got tricked! Now, I had no idea where my house was. All I saw was a building.
The building where my mom worked at.
If I waited outside next to her car or called her to tell her I was outside of her work building, I would be dead because of the dress I was wearing, but if I didn't, I would just be lost and who knows kidnapped. I walked around the building to look for my mom's car. As I was walking, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and called my mom.
"Hey, mom. Are you almost done with work?" I asked on the phone.
"Why?" My mom said back.
"I'm outside of your work building. I'm looking around for your car right now."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY OUTSIDE OF MY WORK BUILDING?!" My mom shouted, "AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE HANGING OUT WITH YOUR FRIENDS?"
"Mom, calm down. I promise I'll explain it all when you come!"
"I'm on my way. Just stand at the front of the business door and do not do anything stupid!" My mom said as she hanged up.
I looked down at my dress. It was a tight black one. I know I'll be in trouble, but at least my mom will be mad at me for that moment, but not forever. I walked to the front of the business. I tried pulling my dress down, but it didn't change a thing. I looked through the window and saw my mom walking down the stairs.
No turning back now.
My mom came through the door and looked at me shocked.
"OH MY GOODNESS-"
"Mom." I said as I interrupted her, "Hear me out just for once please. I need to tell you something."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY TELL ME SOMETHING? YOU LOOK LIKE 27 AND YOU JUST CAME BACK FROM THE CLUB! WHY AM I SUPPOSED TO HEAR YOU OUT? YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF A DISGRACE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW?!" My mom yelled.
"Mom, I've been hiding something from you for a while, and I think it's time to tell you."
"What do you mean by hiding something from me?"
"I'll tell you mom. You just have to promise me to not freak out."
