-Chapter 3-

As we got home, I went to my room and slammed my door. It was just annoying me how my parents always expect me to be just like Oliver when I tell them we aren't the same person. She should at least be grateful that I didn't fail a grade.

"DID YOU JUST SLAM YOUR DOOR?! JUST WAIT UNTIL I TELL YOUR FATHER ABOUT THIS!" I heard my mom yell. I just ignored her, because I knew I would say something that I was not supposed to say.

I walked to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

I had dark brown straight hair inside of a ponytail, and dark brown eyes. I was light skinned, and I wore a black hoodie with dark blue jeans pants. I felt tears fall down from my eyes.

Maybe they were right.

I was nothing compared to the other girls at school. They wore pretty clothes while I look like a tomboy or something like that.

I took off my jacket and put it on my bed. If I wanted friends, then I would have to change.

I looked over to the distance in my bathroom. I saw a knife from when I was trying to open something.

Or maybe I could just end it all.

I grabbed the knife and held it close to me. As I held the knife, I felt the knife slowly get out of the hand. I looked behind me and saw Oliver.

Oliver looked at me with tears in his eyes. He slowly pulled me into a hug. I felt even more tears come from my eyes.

"Never do that again." Oliver said to me.

"I-I'm sorry!" I said in tears.

"Don't worry about it. I know mom can be like that sometimes, but just remember I will always be there for you no matter what."

I was speechless when he said that, but then, I remembered what they said.

I would always wonder how it would be like if my parents actually saw me as someone, but it will cost me betraying my brother. Taking all the attention from him.

I still can't decide.

I slowly pulled away from the hug. "Thank you." I said to Oliver. Oliver just smiled and nodded. He walked out of the room with the knife.

That could've been my chance to tell him the truth, but I just couldn't. I didn't want my parents to do this to me. I just couldn't.

I walked out of my bathroom and searched through my closet. I looked at all of the clothes there and they were all trash.

I looked in my dresser for clothes. I never wore those clothes since 9th grade. Well, at least first semester in 9th grade. They were crop tops and my mom never allowed me to wear them ever since she saw me in them when I was in 9th grade.

Maybe I could break that rule that she made.

I took all of them out and put them on my bed. I looked for good jeans and also placed them with it too.

After doing that, some time passed, and it was time for dinner, but I didn't eat dinner. I didn't feel in the mood for it.

I just went to bed so I could be ready for school.

***

It was the next day. I got up at 5:10 am and did my morning routine. Today, I wore a long sleeved black cropped top with tan cargo pants. My hair was out.

It was now 5:40. I went downstairs to the kitchen. My parents were sleeping since they only carried me and Oliver to school on the first day to make sure we reached early. Oliver and I were going to take the bus today.

As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Oliver.

"Woah." Oliver said looking shocked at me, "What the hell are you wearing?"

"Oh, uhm I just found this in my dresser and decided to wear it." I said back to Oliver.

"Mom's going to kill you if she finds you wearing that."

"I know, so that is why I'm bringing my jacket so I can put it on after school is over."

"Smart." Oliver said, "Anyways, hurry up and eat so we can make it outside for the bus."

I got a bowl and made cereal then I sat down next to Oliver and ate. After I was done, I got my backpack and put on my shoes. After, me and Oliver went outside to go wait for the bus.

We both got on the bus then reached to our school. I entered the building and I saw people talking by their lockers. Oliver and I just decided to go to our classroom.

I sat down in my seat in class. Hailey looked at me shocked.

"So, what's your decision?" Hailey said to me.

"I actually decided to follow your plan." I said back to her.

Hailey smiled and said, "Great. You can be our friends if you want since you finally decided to be like us."

I smiled back and nodded.

"Also, I have another question. Are you smart?" Hailey said.

"I wouldn't really say that..." I said back.

"You're measuring up to us already."

I looked shocked then smiled. It felt wrong, but right at the same time. I finally had friends, but it was only because of the way I looked. All I have to do is keep up with this fake act and then I will finally get attention from my parents. I'm only doing this so my parents could be proud of me for once.

"I just hired a private tutor for you so that you can get good grades and impress your parents." Hailey said to me, "Your classes are everyday at 5pm."

I looked shocked and said, "Oh, thank you, but I don't think my mom would allow that."

"Just tell her that it's going to help improve your grades. I'm pretty sure she won't deny that."

"Thank you so much." I said while smiling.

The teacher walked into the classroom and said, "Good morning, everyone. Today we are going to be doing part 2 in using microscopes."

Class finally ended, and I walked out of the classroom with Hailey and her friends.

Not Oliver.

Hailey, I, and her friends were talking and laughing. As I was walking, I felt someone touch my shoulder.

"Victoria," Oliver said, "Can we talk in private?"

"Oh, sure." I said as I followed Oliver.

"So, you and Hailey are friends now? Didn't they just jump you yesterday?"

"She said sorry, and she also said we could be friends so it's all good now."

"Are you sure? Ever since you dressed up so differently, she decided to talk to you. It seems kind of sketchy."

"It's okay," I said reassuring Oliver, "You have nothing to worry about."

"Oh okay, well bye." Oliver said as he walked away, "Also," he said as he stopped walking, "Don't pretend to be someone that you're not just to have friends. It's better to make everyone know who you truly are because it would just be worser if they found out you've been faking with them the whole time."

I looked at Oliver surprised as he looked away. "I'm doing this for a reason. I'm sorry Oliver, but I can't tell you." I whispered. I walked back to Hailey and her friends and started talking to them again. As much as I was annoyed of talking to them, I just had to.

Even if Oliver was going to be mad, he would understand that I'm trying to live my dream. He knows this will help me a lot.

Wait a minute. I just realized how mad Oliver would be if I did this. I started to panic.

There was no turning back now. She already got me a private tutor, and I would get hated on again just to make Oliver happy. Anyways, he's, my brother. He might just be mad for that time, but not for long. He'll forgive me.

***

It was finally lunch time. I was spending so many hours talking to them that I was already bored of it. They were only talking about drama, and if I said shut up as a joke, they would get mad at me.

I hated those type of friendships.

"And I was like, who do you think you're talking to, and he had some attitude and said 'you', so I drop kicked him." Hailey said.

"You totally slayed girl. Why do people think they can mess with you all the time? They should be scared of you!" One of the girls said.

I rolled my eyes. I was already annoyed of all the drama, that's all the talked about.

"Guys," I said, "We should go get a seat before all the good ones are taken."

"Great idea, Victoria." Brittney said, "Let's go girls."

They all walked away to the seat. I decided to stand there for a bit to get away from them. All I heard all day was them talking.

"Victoria." I heard a voice call. I looked behind me and saw Oliver.

Yes, an easy escape from them.

"Hi Oliver!" I said as I walked up to him.

"Hi, meet my girlfriend, Quinn." Oliver said to me.

I looked at Quinn. Wait a minute.

She's the girl that is tricking Oliver.

My smile faded as I looked at her.

"Hello, Victoria." She said with a smirk.
