Around 5000 BCE...

This was the time when Asuras were defeated;

They loathed the way Devas had treated;

They had to retreat to netherworld;

Losing their control over human world;

Having tasted defeat again;

In quest to take their revenge;

An Asura women did intense penance;

To seek boon that could satisfy her vengeance;

She prayed ‘Om Brahma Devaye Namo Namah’;

Chanting the hymn dedicated to Lord Brahma;

It took years of dedicated tapas so that her voice was heard;

Pleased with her bhakti, He appeared;

Promised to fulfill what she wished;

‘Bless me with a powerful son’ is what she seeked;

He granted her boon;

In due course, Darika was born.
