Chapter 3

FOR THE first time since after her first lifeline, Liontine sleeps really well.

She will just live her second chance to the fullest!

"Thank God!

"That woman won't ever win! She had never even won before because of how slow she was at understanding the question," she muttered to herself as she stood up from her bed.

Napangiti siya nang ilibot ang mga mata. At last!

Liontine stretched her body and yawned. She stood up and went to her mini bathroom to brush her teeth and take a shower.

She did everything she could to lose weight, but being in the stressful environment made her gain more weight. She had PCOS and was diagnosed when she was thirteen years old.

The thirteen-year-old Liontine brought herself to the doctor, and she was referred to obstetrics, which diagnosed her with PCOS. No one knows this sickness of hers except for herself.

Wala din namang may pakialam sa

kanya. She endured her sickness alone,

and no one was there to cheer her up.

"Maybe, just maybe, I could start to lose weight," aniya sa sarili na umaasang mabawasan ang timbang

niya.

PCOS is a manageable condition; however, it can't be cured. She needs to

change her lifestyle, particularly her diet, but she didn't do this at her parents' home because she feared being mocked by everyone in that house.

She does have an irregular menstruation period and hormonal imbalance. Her metabolism is slow, and she has insulin resistance.

"By being away from toxic people, I might manage my PCOS well," Liontine whispered to herself.

"Indeed, my priority is peace of mind and happiness," Liontine whispered to

herself and quickly exited the bathroom.

She will grab breakfast at the nearest 7/11 store while driving her car later.

She even looked at her small apartment as she left. A smile spread across her lips.

"See you later, my home," she whispered softly.

She had a similar role at her previous job; however, she is now a senior executive writer at the new company.

'Everyone seems nice,' she thought.

Liontine directly went to the editor-in-chief's office, where the secretary told her to go there directly since the EIC was already waiting. She knocked twice, but the door opened.

Instead of a welcome greeting, what welcomes her is the angry voice of the EIC. "My goodness!

This was supposed to make our media company known! We don't have another chance!" Dagdag pa nito.

Liontine stood in front of the door awkwardly. The EIC seems kind and thoughtful, but the employee may have made a huge mistake.

"Ahm, I am sorry if I interrupt you, Ma'am. I am Liontine Navarro, by the way. It happened that I knocked twice and the door opened. I happened to hear the issue, and I apologize about

it," Liontine directly said without bluffing.

The woman was in her forties, which Liontine thought the editor-in-chief's eyes widened at.

"Oh' my goodness! I am sorry I forgot about you. There's suddenly a problem, and I happened to overlook it because of my employee's negligence. Please, come inside!" Gulat na sabi nito sa kanya.

"It is okay, Ma'am. No worries at all. I am excited to work too, since this is a new environment. That's why I came early," sagot niya rito. Tumango-tango naman ito.

"Please, sit. I am Rosalia Ross, by the way. I am the Editor-in-Chief of Vita Fresh Media Company, and this is Bonita Delia, my assistant," pagpapakilala nito sa at sa kasama bago nito marahang itinuro ang upuan na kaharap ng empleyadong ginigisa nito kanina.

Liontine sat down confidently and smiled at the EIC before smiling at the person in front of her.

"I am glad you accepted the job! We need competent employees like you, and I believe your skills will just rot at your previous company," masaya nitong turan sa kanya na ikinangiti niya

ng kimi.

Liontine didn't want to say anything about her previous job since she wanted to move on, and she didn't want to be unprofessional.

"Thank you for also accepting me, Ma'am. I want to start as soon as possible. Will it be alright if someone orients me with the company's policy and points out where my office table is?" She politely asked.

"Oh' yes, but you already know your job well. There's no need for training and orientation since you have the same job description as the previous one, but, of course, with other tasks since the position is Senior Executive Writer. About the company's policy? We will give you a handbook.

"Ma'am, what if we send Miss Navarro to that project?" Bigla nitong suhestiyon.

"I think it is a good suggestion, Bonita," anito na tila ba nabunutan ng tinik.

Si Liontine naman ay nangunot ang noo. "I am sorry, Miss Navarro. You must be confused about what we are talking about, but, you see, kulang na kulang kami sa mga writer ngayon dahil lahat abala sa paparating na SONA ng pangulo at hindi nakita ng assistant ko ang bagay na ito kaya wala kaming taong maipapadalang tao sa United Kingdom," mahabang paliwanag nito na siyang lalong ikinakunot ng noo ni Liontine ngunit, hindi na muna siya nagsalita.

May pakiramdam siyang itong unang assignment niya kahit pa unang araw niya pa lang ay magiging big break niya.

"I want to send you to the United Kingdom and interview Mr. Silas Valiente, the most famous rugby player of the England International Rugby Team turned celebrity-businessman right now," pagtutuloy nito sa sinabi.

And with that, Liontine's instinct is really right. She knows that choosing this company is really to her advantage; however, the name that Mrs. Ross said is very familiar to her, which also made her pale and bite her lower lip.
