The creature purred content as it walked up the mountain. All senses were sharpened, just in case Itachi had lied and followed them to their home. "When we are back I will get some sense in that stupid princeling" "Just go easy on him, he probably is worried sick" Naruto sighed mentally. The creature went into the cave and was met with Sasuke sitting against the wall with the twins in his arms, all three asleep. Kurama huffed as he left the body and materialized in his demon form. "at least he took care of the cubs" he snorted poking Sasuke with his foot. The raven shot up and looked around frantically, as his eyes met Naruto's tears began to form and a smile appeared. "I'm so glad you are alright" he whimpered, actually whimpered as he went over to him and leaned against him, making sure not to squash the twins. Naruto smiled and kissed his nose before taking over the twins. "And I'm glad you three are in on piece" he smiled. Sasuke was about to answer but was grabbed by the collar and pinned against the wall. He gasped for air as he held onto the clawed hand holding his cloth. "it's all your damned fault! You know why they took him?! They did it cause you fucking left the castle and didn't leave a notice of starting your life elsewhere! So you get your damn ass out of the cave and to the castle to clear this shit up or I will. And I will promise, my way to clear things up means that there will be nothing left" Kurama snarled into Sasuke's face.
Sasuke looked shocked and guilty at the same time. He hadn't even considered that he would be the cause of the threat against his beloved. As Kurama noticed the change in his expression he slowly let him go and grunted annoyed. He turned on his heel and went to the kitchen and made himself and Naruto some lovely grilled beef.
Sasuke looked guiltily down on Naruto, both his hands reached up and cupped his cheek. "I am so sorry. I was foolish to just take this life for granted, thinking I could actually leave my princely duties... I am so sorry" Sasuke said honestly sad. Naruto leaned into his hands with a smile and a light flush on his face. "As long as you realise it now teme" he chuckled.
"Teme!"
Both males looked down surprised at the squeaky voice. Jin beamed at his parents as he squealed again, "Teme!" Naruto laughed while Sasuke frowned, "Look what you did, now his first word isn't cute like daddy...." Sasuke mumbled disappointed. "Oh, cause daddy is really innocent, right daddy?" He purred as he bumped his hips into Sasuke's. Sasuke bit his lip, "foxing tease" he grumbled making Naruto chuckle. They walked further inside. Naruto put the two happy bundles on his lap and let them drink from his nipples. Sasuke sat beside Naruto and watched content at the two bundles of joy.
Kurama felt annoyed at the sight as he entered the room. He still felt like the princeling didn't deserve his master, not one bit. He put a perfect piece of grilled meat in front of Naruto and cut it and began feeding it to him. "Shall take over?" Sasuke questioned as he already reached to do so. Kurama growled and just barely missed his hand as he stabbed with his fork. "Master may be lenient with you, but I am not, nor do I like you" He growled as he fed Naruto another piece. Naruto was content with the feeding and held himself out of the discussion. "Do you think I meand for Naruto to fall into danger?" Sasuke questioned, anger boiling in his gut at the distrust of him and the bond the demon had with Naruto. "I think you didn't think your actions through" he stated with a shrug. "That doesn't answer my question" Sasuke hissed. Kurama paused and looked at the angry raven. "It is not a matter of wanting, it is a matter of taking care off. What I have seen from you, you are not in any state to be the mate of my master. You don't deserve him. Especially since you can't protect him" Kurama sneered. "Kurama!"
Kurama flinched at the stern voice and looked up at Naruto who glared down at him. "He may have made mistakes but that doesn't give you the right to rub salt into his wounds!" Naruto snarled. Kurama took a step back. His ears flat against his head. "Master... I only want the best for you and your cu-" "Yes, Me, and MY cubs! Kurama you have no right to intervene" Naruto glared at the demon before him.
Kurama slowly stood, his eyes darkened. "363.... 363 years of serving, protecting... And now you have found your love you decide against my judgement?" He looked down upon the couple. Sasuke was uncertain and even a bit frightened but Naruto held his stand and glared up at the demon. "So be it... it's been fun. Goodbye master" Kurama whispered before he disappeared into thin air.
Naruto's eyes went wide. "Wait, what? Goodbye? Why did you say goodbye? Get your foxing ass back here! Kurama?" Naruto wanted to stand abrupt but instead he put the children in their crib before frantically looking around. "Is it the first time he said goodbye?" Sasuke questioned carefully. Naruto nodded and looked more panicked by the second as he slowly felt the bond between the two of them dissolve.
He clutched his stomach and coughed as he felt a hole open up inside of him. Sasuke rushed at his side and cared circles over his back, questioning if he was okay and if he could do something. But everything he heard felt like it was spoken under water.
Kurama had left
He had severed their bond.
For the first time in 363 years,
He felt alone.
-----------------------
He silently walked through the forest. His footsteps making no sound. The animals just went on their business, ignoring the unearthly creature that walked the woods. He looked at the ground instead of prideful in front of him. He felt tears in his eyes but they wouldn't roll. A demon couldn't cry, their body didn't allow them to. When a tear threatened to fall it would vapour and drift off in the air. He had enough of it. He always put his master in front of everything, even his own life. But his master didn't feel the same anymore, now he had a husband, he had children. The children, he wouldn't have minded, they are of his blood and would be logic to give your life for. But that bastard princeling?! It's like Naruto forgot about the betrayal, like he forgot he was burned alive, tortured for hours! It's like only he remembered, only Kurama remembered the wrongdoing of that man.
He stopped at the falling water and sat down on a rock. He hugged his knees to his body and stared aimlessly into the water. It's like only he can't forgive. He is a demon after all, that is just not in his nature. His nature is to take revenge and kill, forgive is something you have to be stronger for. You have to set aside your pride and accept what happened, with that you have to accept that the person causing the pain is not worth the chasing, that you have to let your grudge go.
He shook his head and looked up at the sky. He would never let go of his nature, it didn't felt right. This was who he was, and apparently his master didn't fit in his life like this.
A lump formed in his throat and he fisted his furr on his legs. "Why did you need to defend him? I wasn't that harsh, I could have been much harsher. Your life has been brought into danger because of him, you died because of him. Why do you do this to me?" he whimpered to no one.
"That's what love does, it makes you ignorant of your surroundings"
Kurama shot up with his claws out and his teeth showing in a snarl while he scanned the surrounding for the source of the voice. His eyes met a pair of red ones who looked lonely. "What are you doing here?" he questioned as his posture slowly calmed. Itachi sat down next to him and smiled up at him. "I thought you would be here" he smiled. Kurama paused for a moment before he sat down besides the man and sighed. "It seems you have a lot more going on than you always tell me" Itachi said as he crossed his legs and watched the waterfall. Kurama sighed and nodded, "master.... I left him" Kurama said as he stared at the water. "but why does love make you do such stupid things? Isn't that plain idiotic?" He frowned. Itachi chuckled, "indeed it's idiotic, but for that one person you feel like you can give up everything" he said with a tone that told Kurama he spoke out of experience. "Have you done stupid things?" he questioned curiously. Itachi nodded.
Kurama waited patiently for Itachi to answer.
"I left the organisation"
"oh... wait what? Why?" Kurama asked confused.
Itachi turned to look at him with a smile that seemed sad. "I have broken the most important rule..... kill demons on sight, don't be tempted by them" He spoke. Kurama's eyes widened in realization. "I didn't want to fight against you anymore" Itachi spoke, "I want to stand beside you... if you let me".
Kurama fell silent as he stared dumbfounded at the male. A slight blush crept on his cheeks as he turned looking at the water, "It's not like I can say no to someone who left his family for me" he said embarrassed. Itachi chuckled as he petted his head, "I think I actually found a family" he smiled, this time the sadness had left. Kurama glanced at him shyly
"I guess me too"
