Chapter 12: Just Do It

"Romeooooooo.." I growned as I clicked my fingernails against my math textbook.

Romeo and I were on the phone while he was supposed to help me with my math homework, but he every two minutes he was typing heavily in my ears, being obviously distracted.

"ROMEO!"

"-Y-Yeah huh, ya babe?"

"Dont fucking 'ya babe' me? What are you doing ? You know I have my math quiz tomorrow and you keep ignoring me?"

"Baby chill. I was just texting my friend."

"Save it mane, forreal. I dont have time for this." CLICK!

I grunted heavily as I opened my textbook and began going over the questions that I had been reviewing.

*30 MINUTES LATER*

"But If X equal's 45, why is ....? Oh my gosh, what the fuck is this?!" I said in frustration, as I threw my Papermate blue point pen against my textbook.

Resting my hands onto my forehead, I began rubbing it in a circular motion.

I tried to look over the sheet again before I had enough. A thought popped in my head, and as stubborn as I wanted to be, I had to get atleast a 75% on this math test tomorrow. NO Ifs/Ands/ Or buts.

Scrolling down my phone contacts, I clicked onto his name and waited for the phone to dial, as I rested it against my ear.

"Hello?" He answered as his voice sounded stuffy and sleepy.

"Omar..?" I asked lowly.

"Bev? You aiight ma? I wasnt really expecting to hear your voice." He said with a soft 'laughing but serious' chuckle.

"Yeah sorry. I just needed help right now or I was going to lose my temper. Forreal, Forreal."

He laughed. "What do you need help with?"

"Math. Is it possible that you could come over right now?" Bev glanced over at my alarm clock which read 6:19PM right on the dot.

I could hear him yawn as he stretched before he answered saying yes.

We hung up moment's later, as I promised to text my address.

No more than fifteen minutes later, there was a soft knock at my door. Hopping off from my bed, Beverly made my way downstairs and opened the front door.

Omar stood there as he wore a red Nike 'JUST DO IT' tee, Nike baggy gray trackpants and red and black KD's. Mmm Mmm good.

"Hey." Bev finally said.

"Hey." He said with a smile.

"Come in." Bev began to open her door wider, making a passageway for him to come inside.

As he walked in, Bev could hear the heaviness of us his breath.

"You're sick?" Bev asked as he began to take off his shoe's.

"Yeah mane, got the damn cold."

"Aww poor baby." Bev smiled as she walked ahead of him,  beginning  to lead their way up to Bev's room .

He just shook his head and kept up with the walking.

**

"So do you understand it now?"

"Yeah I was just really confused by the way the teacher taught it. Talking a lot of unnecessary nonsense."

"I feel you man. They do it so they understand it, most teachers dont even care If you do. Shit they just want their cheque."

I nodded my head. "So what's been up with you?"

"Shit doing me, stressed."

"Stressed why?" Bev leaned closer to him.

"Just this girls stressing me."

Bev nodded, already knowing the situation but decided to put his business on blast.

Omar looked over at the same clock Bev was staring at from earlier.

It was now 9:56PM and the two of them had school tomorrow.

"I think I should go." Omar stated as he began to rise up from Bev's bed.

Beverly nodded her head,  looking a bit disappointed but made sure to cover it up with a smile.

"You iight?" Omar asked as he noticed Bev's facial expression.

"Yeah."

"Thanks again.." Bev thanked Omar, before leaning in for a hug.

Leaning back in, Omar hugged her back. "I missed you." he mumbled underneath his breath.

"What?"

"Nun." He smiled as he opened her front door. "Stop being a stranger aiight?"

She nodded, smiling.

"Later."

"Bye.."

Locking the door, Bev made her way upstairs, and plopped down on her bed, sighing.
