Chapter 2

The next year, we aren't friends anymore. I blew up at her. There was a lot of swearing, and I don't regret a single word that I said to that bitch.

At a school football game (I'm in marching band, I hate football), right after halftime, I go to get some food with Karina and Aaron. Phoenix is there, and she smiles at me. She has the fucking nerve to smile at me! I glare at her and she goes back to talking to her friend.

"She tried becoming my friend again too, don't fall for it," Aaron whispers to me. "She's still a bitch." I sneer and let out a dark chuckle.

"Why the fuck would I become her friend again?" I growl. Karina places a hand on my back.

"Tell her." That's all Karina needs to say. Right before we get our food, I yell at Phoenix as she goes back to the bleachers. I yell at her and my friends have to stop me from punching her in the face.

"You'll regret what you did! Fuck you! Fuck you!!" I scream, shocking everyone around me. I struggle against Aaron and Karina's holds, wanting to strangle her, break her neck. "You'll fucking regret it!"

"Wait!" Aaron hisses at me. I look at him, eyes wide and filled with murderous intent. He doesn't even flinch. "I know how much you want to kill her, and I want to too, but wait! You don't want to just get it over with, do you? You want to make her suffer." I relax in their grips and grin. "Make her feel the pain that we felt, a thousand times over."

"A million times over," I add. Aaron stares at me for a moment before releasing his grip. Karina reluctantly let's go of my arm. I turn to face her, looking into her eyes. "No worries, I actually have some self control," I tell her. She laughs, followed by a chuckle from Aaron.

"Unlike me," Karina states.

About a month later, Aaron and I begin to conspire against Phoenix. We keep it secret, only talking about it in private and in person. Can't have the NSA catching on. On the way to meeting him after school one day, Karina runs up to me.

"You're going to be late for the bus!" I exclaim as she stops in front of me, panting. She waves her hand, pushing my comment aside.

"I was wondering if I could stay at your house tonight, my parents are out and I don't have a lot of food at home." I stare at her for a moment. "I mean you'll have to pick me up from my house."

"I'll ask my parents, now get to the bus!" I exclaim. Karina smiles and runs over to her bus, stopping the driver and climbing on. I continue walking to Aaron's said rendezvous spot.

"Took you long enough," he murmurs, walking out of the shadows as I arrive.

"Sorry, had to take care of some business," I shrug. "And plus, my house was on the way, so I stopped there first. I brought food!"

"Okay, you are forgiven, now give me some food!" Aaron shouts, holding out his hands. I laugh and hand over the bag of food I brought over.

"Now it's a picnic!"

Aaron smiles, sitting down on the grass and pulling out the food. "A picnic where we plot murder!"

"Shh! Not so loud, we can't have people noticing!" I hiss, sitting across from my best friend. "And we can't do anything today or tomorrow," I add. Aaron raises an eyebrow. "What? I'm having a sleepover with Karina! We've been hanging out a lot more often, and she's really great!"

"Not like Phoenix?"

"Not at all like Phoenix."

"Okay, then when should we get her?" Aaron wonders. "We have to soon or else people might get even more suspicious."

"Well, we haven't worked out all the kinks yet. I mean, how are we going to make sure that we don't get caught before the deed is done? Even after the deed is done? I don't want to go to prison. Not yet anyways."

"Don't worry, that won't happen."
