"How can you eat that?" Vermila asked as she ate a spoonful of her chocolate sundae.

"Don't ice cream shame me." Y/n responded as he ate a spoon full of Cherry, chocolate, and pistachio ice cream.

"It's such a bizarre combination."

"Says the woman who wanted carrot cake pancakes with banana nut ice cream and spicy chicken wings at 3 in the morning." Y/n defended. "Might I remind you that you even ate the bones."

"I was pregnant!"

"Excuses! I will have none of it!"

"It's a valid reason!"

"Mhm you still eat the bones."

"So do you!"

"Not the point!"

"Hmm," Vermila raised an eyebrow before changing the subject. "What even is the job we are here to complete?"

"Simple, clear out a group of demons that's been bugging people."

"Was that a pun?"

"Whaaaaaaatttt noooooooo," the Nephalem got the stare from Vermila. "Yeah it was."

"Your so foolish."

"Foolishly in love with you." Y/n said causing Vermila to blush a bit.

"Gaah hurry up and finish your abomination you think is ice cream so we can get this job done."

-small time skip brought to you by Auntie Lady watching Barney with a little V and an annoyed Nero-

"This is strange." Y/n said as he poked the body of a dissolving insect looking demon with Renegade.

"Indeed, someone slayed these demons recently." Vermila said looking around. "It wasn't us. Lady is with Nero and Vitellius. Dante and Trish are completely out of town."

"So then who did it?"

"That is indeed the question."

"This lingering energy, it's similar but different."

"You felt it as well."

"Yeah- OH CRAP!" Y/n was interrupted as a flash of white dashed across the room pinning Y/n to the opposite wall with two swords. The only thing stopping the blades from hitting his throat was Renegade.

"So you're the apprentice Sparda took upon in the human world." The man was dressed in white with shoulder plates. "Not much to look at."

Vermila reacting first sent a barrage of summon swords at the attacker while drawing the large sword she used as Nelo Angelo. The man dressed in white jumped out of the way just in time as the sword struck the ground.

"Daughter of Sparda don't worry both yours and your brothers time will come soon enough!" The man then disappeared. "We shall settle this soon." His voice echoed out.

"Well now we now who stole our job." Y/n said.

"We should head back. See if Morrison or Lady know anything about this guy." Vermila placed the large blade across her back.

"You just wanna get back to Nero and V." Y/n placed Renegade across his back.

"So that's who was stealing my jobs!" Lady was not happy. "I swear when I get my hands on that white devil I'll-"

"Do nothing." Y/n said. "He's not targeting you so he won't show up. He's after me, Dante, and Vermila. We just gotta find out when and where."

"Hey where's Nero?" Vermila asked holding Vitellius.

"Nero went to the park with Patty." Lady answered. "He took Blue Rose with him so he should be fine."

-scene shift brought to you by Dante eating a strawberry sundae-

"You kinda remind me of my mom," Nero said as he sat next to Patty who sat next to a man dressed in black with long black hair. "With how you talk and your whole demeanor. It's weird."

The man stared at the boy with white hair. Looking at him gave the Devil a pretty good guess. The boy, Nero was the son of Vermila and Y/n two people his brother was hunting. The girl he had met earlier at a cafe along with the son of Sparda.

"Now that you say it I can see it." Patty agreed after her rant about Dante. "Oh I know how about you drop by Devil May Cry tomorrow and I'll make you a strawberry sundae!"

"Are you sure Mom, Dad, and Uncle Dante are ok with that?" Nero asked.

"Oh I'm sure they won't mind. After all your family loves me, especially sense I'm bringing ice cream."

"Eh good point." Nero said as he looked at a clock. "Hey Patty didn't you say you were on dinner duty at the orphanage?"

"WHAT? Oh no I gotta go otherwise I'll be in trouble!" Patty got up and took off, waving bye as she ran.

"Well I guess I should probably get going too. Don't wanna miss dinner myself." Nero got up and started walking away.

"You know your awfully young to be carrying around a weapon like that." The man said causing Nero to freeze.

'How did he know about Blue Rose?'

"And your arm is quite unique as well. Hahaha you are quite the unique one a Tribrid, combination of three races. Been a long time sense someone like you was even close to existing."

Nero reached for Blue Rose, based on his experience of someone knew who and what he was it usually meant that they were probably a demon. Or something else trying to get him.

"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you, I am simply making observations. But it's good to keep on your toes." The man stood up. "After all as someone who carries Sparda's blood is a target for many." The man starts walking away.

Nero keeps a hand on Blue Rose unter his coat as he watches the man in black leave. Once he's sure that the man won't turn around, Nero sprints off back home. He has to talk with his parents about this.

-another time skip brought to you by me saying I know there's a fair amount of time skips-

Nero got home awhile ago and told his parents what happened over dinner. The news wasn't surprising but still slightly concerning, it wasn't until the man in black showed up again that things went down. Y/n ran out the door after something the man in black told him. Nero ran after his father to see what happened and where he was going.

Y/n reached the park where there was a statue of the Dark Knight. Standing next to the statue was the White Devil, Baul.

"So you finally decided to show up." Baul said summoning his sword from the ground.

"Of course there's no way I'd pass up on a challenge from another apprentice of Sparda." Y/n said as he drew Renegade and got ready to fight.

"After I kill you, then I'll take the souls-"

"Save it I already know your plan. And trust me I'm a very hard person to kill." Y/n said.

Baul then rushed at Y/n swinging his black sword. Y/n blocked it with Renegade but Baul summoned his other sword and swung at the Nephalem.

"That was a not so nice trick."

"You must have not listened to Sparda's teachings of you truly are his student." Baul motioned towards the cut on Y/n's shoulder.

"Neither did you." Suddenly a cut appeared through his shoulder plate and into his shoulder. Baul didn't like that very much so he rushed at Y/n swinging his swords in a scissor like motion. Y/n simply threw himself down onto his back and hands before kicking while jumping upwards knocking the swords from the white Devil's hands. Y/n spun in the air before landing and took the opportunity to lunge forward slashing at Baul. Locking the other student of Sparda with rapid slashes Y/n then takes a step away from the dazed Baul before lunging forward once more, except this time into a million stab. The million stab sent Baul flying. Baul was bloody but he pulled himself to his swords and was pulling himself up.

"It's over Baul, keep your blood in your body. It's not supposed to be all over the floor."

"No! never! I will defeat you and become Sparda's best disciple and after I claim the souls of Sparda's children I will have the power of the Dark Knight!" Baul said as he changed into his Devil Form. "This is a fight to the death either mine OR YOUR FAMILY'S!!"

The last words set in course a moral dilemma. Y/n didn't want to kill Baul because his brother and Y/n knew what it was like to lose someone you care about. And, for that same reason he couldn't let Baul live. Y/n was torn apart but Baul took this chance and jumped high into the sky and dived down to strike. The next few seconds happened so fast, Y/n's body reacted before his mind could process his own thoughts. A flash of metal and lighting and Baul fell to the ground hundreds of slashes along his body.

Modeus saw his brother fall. The Black Devil rose his sword for the first time in 2000 years.

"Revenge isn't it." Y/n said solemnly. "It's like a fuel, strong and powerful. But only for a short period until you reach your goal or die."

Modeus rushed at the Nephalem. Craving revenge for his fallen brother he launched himself at the final student of Sparda. Y/n knew the resolve in Modeus by the look in his eyes. Modeus transformed and dashed forward as Y/n did the same passing by sheathing Renegade as he kept walking. Modeus fell same as his brother. Both of their bodies began disappearing along with their swords.

The rain poured down around Y/n as he left the park. Nero was standing at the entrance watching the whole thing. Y/n walked by his son placing a hand on his head while giving a sad smile.

"Let's head home Nero. Your gonna catch cold."

Nero looked at his father in worry but he stayed silent as they walked home. This was one of the few times Nero has ever seen his father like this and he still doesn't know what to do about it. The walk back to Devil May Cry was silent only accompanied by the sound of falling rain and occasional thunder.

Upon reaching Devil May Cry Y/n walked straight towards his and Vermila's room. After finding his wife Y/n simply scooped up Nero, Vermila who had V, and just held them all close. Y/n burying his face in Vermila's shoulder. No one really moved except V who was quite the squirming little guy, that night Devil May Cry was the quietest it's been in a long time.

A/n: so yes this one is based on an anime episode and I thought it would be a cool sense Y/n was trained by Sparda and so were they. Anyway tell me what you think, hope you enjoyed. Anyhow cíao.
