"Next up...you all know 'em, and love 'em. Or at least, you're wowed by them......it's THE LOCKSLEYS!" The host of America's Got Talent, Emma Swan, gestured to the stage, and the cameras switched to show Regina and Robin Locksley, walking onto stage hand-in-hand.
"Hello," Merida spoke into her mic.
"Hi," the Locksleys said in unison.
"So for those of you who don't know what you do, could you explain it?" Neal requested. "Because, to be honest, I'm not quite sure myself." The audience exploded into laughter at Neal's comment.
Regina chuckled, "Well, we have this sort of...connection, where our thoughts are in sync. It's sort of like a magic act, combine with mind reading, I guess."
The celebrity judge for the evening, Jefferson Hatter, spoke up, "From what I've seen, fans have been calling your act 'soulmate telepathy'. Is that what you would describe it as?"
Regina and Robin glanced at each other before looking back at the judges. Robin opened his mouth to speak, "Yes. I mean, we've never called it that, but I feel it's a pretty good description." Regina nodded in agreement.
"Well then, show us what you've got," Mr. Gold said, giving them the nod to begin their act.
Smoke began pouring onto the stage from hidden smoke machines, and an eerie tune emerged from the speakers. Robin tied a blindfold around Regina's eyes, and turned her so her back was to the audience. Robin then stepped down towards the judges. He handed a dice to Jefferson Hatter. "Can you confirm that this is a normal, six-sided, die?"
Jefferson rolled it between his fingers and the camera zoomed in on it. "Yes."
"Roll it please."
Jefferson rolled the die and it landed on a three. Regina shifted, drawing the attention to her. "The number, it's less than four, yes?"
"Yes," Robin confirmed.
"And more than one?"
"Yes."
"Is it...three?"
"Yes it is."
Robin turned back to the judges. "Now, that was only a one-in-six chance. So let's go higher." He pulled a deck of cards from his pockets and shuffled them. He showed them to the judges to show that they were all different.
"Mr. Gold," Robin fanned out the deck of cards and held them so they were facing downwards, "please pick a card from the deck."
Gold picked a card and looked at it - the queen of hearts.
"Now show it to the other judges," Robin instructed, "but not me." Robin watched as Gold secretively showed the other four judges and the camera men his card. Robin already knew what it was, but he wanted to make it seem like he didn't.
Once everyone had seen the card, Robin turned to look at Regina. "Regina, which card did Mr. Gold pick?"
Regina frowned, making it look like she was having more trouble than she actually was. "It's red - hearts. And...it's not a number. Is it...the Queen?"
The audience all burst into applause and Regina smiled. The judges didn't clap, but their faces showed they were surprised she had gotten it correct.
Robin took his card back from Gold and slid the deck into his pocket. "A one-in-fifty-two chance. Of course, it is possible to guess correctly, however, it is improbable. So let's go even higher. Do any of you happen to have a dollar bill I could borrow?"
Ruby fished a dollar out of her purse and handed it to Robin. Robin unfolded it and flattened it out the best he could. "Now, every dollar bill has a unique number on it." He held the dollar to the camera and tapped on the serial number. "There is over a one-in-one billion chance of being lucky enough to guess this correctly." Robin showed the number to the judges;
B83212044E
"Regina?" He looked up at his wife.
Regina scrunched her eyebrows, focusing. "I sense a letter... B?" Murmurs of approval pushed Regina to speak again, "Next is a number. Eight? ...And then Three."
The audience was whispering among st themselves, trying to understand how Regina was getting the numbers correct.
"After the three is a...a...two? And then...a one..."
Robin spared a glance at the judges faces before focusing back on the dollar so he could make sure Regina was correct.
"After that, another two and a..." Regina hesitated. O or zero? "Zero?" Regina didn't hear any discouragement, so she continued on, "Then there are two of something. Is it...four? Two fours? And finally, another letter...E?"
"Wow..." Neal muttered.
Robin returned to the stage and untied the blindfold. Emma joined them, "The Locksleys!" The audience burst into applause and Ruby, Neal, and Jefferson all gave the couple a standing ovation.
"You did wonderful tonight. Milady."
Regina turned to look at Robin and smiled, "You did too."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
