Scroll down to read my interview with E!

Q: Hello there! I'm @theyoungwriter0415, the interviewer for Behind Every Book, and I'm here to conduct my interview. I hope that you are all ready for your interview! Is there any name you would like me to address you as?

A: Hi, you can call me E. Nice to meet you.

Q: Nice to meet you too! And also, happy new year to you.

Before we start, could you share with me something about yourself?

A: Sure! I was born in Virginia and then moved to New York after I was born.I started writing short poems right before covid, And moved up from there. I had been reading on Wattpad since before covid also, and I thought it would be helpful to start writing on Wattpad. I wrote my first book "Last Summer" back in 5th grade. It's not the best but you can tell, my writing has progressed from reading my other books.

Q: Wow! So you're from New York! I heard New York's a really cool place.

Now, let's move on to talk about your books! Hmm...let's talk about the book, Love, to hate you. Interesting title! Could you share with us what it's about?

A: Love, to hate you is a friends to lovers romance. I kind of got the inspiration off of the shows The summer I turned pretty and outer Banks. This book is about Sky the main character, and Xander the love interest relationship from friends to lovers. It's as I would describe a teen romance.

Q: Ooh, friends to lovers? Interesting! I believe that's mostly how relationships are formed.

Ah, so you got inspiration from shows? That's nice. I've also got inspiration from shows for my books too! Hehe.

What about the characters, Sky and Xander? Were they inspired from the shows that you watched too?

A: Kind of, so In both the shows they were based in the summer. So I tried to incorporate the summer/kickback kind of style into the characters. But I tried to keep the characters as original as possible. I mainly use Pinterest boards to make my characters.

Q: Ah, it's good that you keep the characters as original as possible.

What about your other book, Our Forbidden Love? Was it inspired by a show too?

A: Me and friend saw some TikTok and YouTube videos and thought it would be a good idea to write a book. Although my book wasn't based off of/ inspired by any shows, the writing tips are from her. So that was kind of the inspiration for the book. I thought it would be easier to share the book with people if it was on Wattpad.

Q: Wow! So you friend played a part in giving you some tips for your book. That's really nice of her.

Among the books that you've written in your life, do you have any books that you certainly enjoyed writing and why?

A: My favorite book that I enjoyed writing is Last Summer. Even though it's very poorly written, I enjoyed writing it. And I can't wait to put it through some tough editing. And bring my 5th-grader self's dream to life.

Q: Of course! I believe that after some editing, you can definitely make your book a beautiful piece of work!

Other than these books you've written, I'm sure that you have some upcoming story ideas! Would you mind sharing with me your ideas?

A: Of course, I think it's better If I just give bullet points so...

-Isabella has always lived on the edge, juggling a double life as a seemingly ordinary girl with three overprotective brothers and a member of a powerful mafia family. Her brothers have shielded her from some of the harsh realities of their world, but Isabella's fascination with the mafia's power and intrigue runs deep. When she faces danger one night, Landon, a mysterious figure, saves her. Spending time with him, Sofia discovers his dual nature—dark and loving. Her feelings evolve from awkwardness to forbidden attraction. Amid the dangerous mafia world, Isabella and Landon must navigate their families' feuds, risking betrayal with high stakes.

-Basically, she gets kidnapped and is trained to be an assassin at 17. And is a senior. But was homeschooled. And really smart. She gets caught one day and gets sent to her real family. She has 6 brothers and both parents. She continues to assassinate people and also joins the mafia. She is great with guns and knives. Loves to twirl knives. She meets a guy at a ball and he saves her in a way.

The first idea is more developed than the second.

Q: Wow! So it's Romance, Kidnapping, Mafia. What a good combination! And don't worry about the story development, I'm sure you can just do some touch-ups on that and it would be a perfect story!

Hmm...are you starting to write drafts for the story already or are you still thinking of some ideas?

A: I've started making some Pinterest boards to figure out what kind of aesthetic I want. I just want to fully finish the 3 books I already started before moving on to 2 more books. But I definitely want to start them in the future.

Q: Alright, it's good that you finish the books that are left uncompleted before you move on to other books. Good choice.

As you shared with me about your books, I realised that you like to write mostly Romance books. I believe that must be your favourite genre to write about! Why do you like writing Romance books, though?

A: I like writing about Romance books because as a kid, I loved Disney Princess movies. And to this day I still do.

Q: Oh, so you love Disney Princess movies? Now I understand why you enjoy writing Romance books so much! :D

Now, let's go down the memory lane! Would you like to thank anyone who has helped you throughout your writing journey?

A: I would like to thank my friends and family for proofreading and giving me feedback on my books. And to my best friend for sticking with me and pushing through me always ranting about the books I have written or have read. And to @mkleve19 her book My 4 over protective Brothers gets me through a reading and writing slump every time. I swear I have read that over 10 times. And thank you for interviewing me and giving me this opportunity.

Q: Aww that's sweet of you to thank your family and friends! And, thank you for thanking me, I'm so touched haha :D

What about your achievements in writing? What are some of the things you accomplished in writing that have made you proud of yourself so far?

A: I have grown a lot with my grammar and using bigger and more descriptive words when writing. I am proud that I haven't given up and have kept writing.

Q: Awesome! I'm glad that you're proud of yourself. For your resilience, and your improvement in writing!

Do you think you've achieved the targets and goals that you've set for yourself in writing?

A: Yes, I really think I have grown a lot from the beginning of 2023.

Q: That's great to hear! You must have come a long way. I'm proud of you!

Now that the new year has started, do you have any writing goals that you hope to achieve by the end of 2024?

A: One writing goal is to learn how to describe the character's features better.

Q: Wow, I'd definitely need to improve on that too! XD

How do you think you can improve in describing your character's features better?

A: I think I want to start with character boards so I can have all the characters info. And when I'm writing the story, say the character is shy I can make them stutter or play with their hands. Or describe how they feel in that moment. And how they talk and move and stuff.

Q: Wow, it's great that you have a plan on how to achieve your writing goal already! We are almost ending the interview already!

Before we end this interview, I have two last questions to ask you!

1. Do you have a favourite quote to share with fellow Wattpadians to allow them to continue to strive and be better writers?

2. Would you like to share with striving writers a piece of advice?

A: One quote is, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world" -Anne Frank. This means to me that telling a story could easily improve maybe not the whole world but somebody's life. A piece of advice I would give fellow Wattpadians is that taking writing breaks is okay. It's needed to make a great writer, a great writer.

Q: Wow! What a beautiful quote that is absolutely true. And, thank you for the advice, it is indeed important to take breaks even when chasing your dreams!

Thank you so much for your time, E! We have now come to the end of our interview :)

Woohoo! Thank you so much to E for joining me for this interview! It was a good one and I certainly enjoyed it very much.
