Toko's POV-
     As much as I wanted to sleep last night I just couldn't...all I could think of was getting to meet Byakuya. It's funny really. We've only known each other for a short amount of time but I feel like we just clicked. I'd never really had someone show this much kindness to me, it was very eye opening. I've been trying to tell myself he's just trying to be polite and wouldn't want to really become close with me but a small part of me hoped he was telling the truth.

     I studied my limited selection of clothes to try and find an outfit that would impress him. After a while I settled on a simple dark top with a black skirt. I laid them out on my bed before showering and brushing through my matted hair. After getting dressed I glanced at the clock.

It was only 10 am

Byakuya's POV-
I woke up with a spring in my step. Today I was about to meet the mystery girl Toko next door. She was very sweet and enchanting as much as I hated to admit it. The night we met was quite jarring for me, you see i've never really been "comforted" before. I'd been told to suck it up and stop being so damn sensitive my whole life. After my recent girlfriend dumped me I've tried to keep my real emotions at bay but alas, I truly was upset by her leaving me. I wanted to start a life with her but I suppose she wanted something different.

     I wiped my eyes in distress, what was I supposed to do? I have nothing. I just wish things were different...I didn't realize I'd begin to cry again. As soon as the tears started coming I heard a knock on the wall.

     "Byakuya! Hey! Are you okay?" Toko shouted in worry from the other side.

     "I assure you i'm alright-" I managed to squeak out...but she wasn't buying it.

"That's it I'm coming over." She said quickly. I heard a knock on my door a few seconds later. I stared at it in panic.

I'm not prepared!

I took a deep breath and slowly opened the door to see her. I had to catch my breath...she was stunning...

She looked up at me with a small smile and red cheeks.

"H-hi-"

"H-hello there come on in."

We both sat across from each other on my couch. She twisted her long purple hair around her finger with a nervous look in her eyes. At least I wasn't the only one who was anxious to meet her.

"Talk to me Byakuya...tell me what happened with her. This is something you need to get off your chest." She said with determination. I hesitated but agreed to update her on the situation.

"My girlfriend and I dated in high school in secret, we never told our families about each other. However, in the first year of college my parents found out and banned me from seeing her...that went well as you can imagine. I was kicked out and disowned from my family for not wanting to continue our legacy. But it was okay, I had her...until the night you moved in. She dumped me and took all the savings we had and disappeared. All she left me was the apartment and I can't even afford rent at the moment. So...that's what happened." I was tearing up again at this point.

She closed her eyes for a moment but quickly got out of her seat and rushed over to me. She wrapped her small arms around my shaking body and rested her head on my shoulder.

"I'm here for you..." is all she said.

She looked into my eyes and wiped my tears before hugging me tight again. I buried my face in her chest while she rubbed my back gently. I had never felt this...safe.

Despite not knowing much about her I felt like I had known her for years and could trust her with my life.

She pulled away from out embrace for a moment to compose herself, she was a blushing mess. I laughed weakly at her red face.

It was kind of cute actually...

She was cute...
