Chapter 2~ Getting to know you

Toko's POV-
The sun beamed through my open window as I rubbed my sleepy eyes. I had stayed up till 4 am talking to Byakuya through the wall. As much fun as I had getting to know him I knew this couldn't become a routine...as much as it's a pain you kind of need sleep to survive. Yuck logic...

I slowly got out of bed and made myself a cup of tea. I never really liked coffee. Even after putting mountains of sugar in the cup it's always too bitter for my taste.

After sipping my tea for a while I took my anxiety medication and opened up my laptop to start writing. I needed a stellar idea for my book. It was going to be romantic definitely but I hadn't come up with a plot I was particularly happy with. As if to interrupt my thoughts I heard a sharp knock on the wall.

"Good morning Toko, how are you?" I heard Byuakya say from the other side. I grinned and replied.

"I'm alright, just hanging out I suppose. I'm more worried about you! Are you feeling better?" He hesitated before answering.

"Let's just say I'd be worse off if I didn't speak with you last night...I really appreciate your kindness. I needed someone to talk to."

"Of course, I'm so sorry about your breakup...not that I've ever been in a relationship but realize how hard that must be."

"You've never been in a relationship...? I'm quite surprised. You seem very nice and would be an excellent girlfriend to anyone with common sense. I apologize that people don't realize your potential." He stated matter of factly. I felt my cheeks heat up, I'd never ever been told something so nice before!

"T-thank you-" I stuttered. We said our goodbyes and promised to chat later. I fell onto my bed and held my face in my hands. Nobody has ever been so nice to me...do I...no. I can't like him, I barely know the guy! Besides he's rich, nice, and just got out a long term relationship. He probably is faking it and wants nothing to do with me.

I shook off my feelings and tried to focus on writing. But all I could think of was Byakuya. I wondered if he looked as nice as he was...my mind drifted off so much I didn't realize it was almost 7 pm! I made myself a bowl of instant ramen and stared at my blank computer screen. After 10 minutes of me just zoning out I groaned and closed the laptop. I was getting nowhere...

Just as I was throwing away my empty plastic bowl I noticed something had been slid under my door. I picked up the paper in question realizing it was a letter. Sure enough "Toko" was written nearly on the envelope. I opened it cautiously and was pleasantly surprised when I found out who it was from:

Dear Toko,
I wanted to inquire if you would be willing to come to my room tomorrow to meet and have lunch? I'd love to see face to face.
Sincerely, Byakuya Togami

My entire face lit up, I was going to meet him! I reread the letter at least 20 times to admire his handwriting and daydream about meeting the mysterious man beyond the wall.

Who knows? Maybe this could be the beginning of something beautiful.
