I
The wind whipped at his hair. He looked around at all the people gathered around— some glaring at him in hate, and a few looking at him in sadness, and rage towards the people glaring at him.
The boy was no older than seventeen. He breathed in a slow, long breath, before letting it out. His breath wasn't shaky, like some people's might have been if they were in his situation.
He opened his eyes and his gaze swept over them like an ocean breeze; cool and calm, but hard and unrelenting.
They were all shocked when they realized he had a wistful smile on his face. He was looking right at the corner where Death himself stood.
One man in front of the boy raised his bolt, expecting the boy to lose his sense of calm and wistfulness, but the boy only seemed to get more of both them.
Death stared him right back in the eyes.
The boy spread both of his arms out and looked to the man with the bolt. He looked him right in the eyes.
Zeus was taken aback for a second before throwing the bolt. It hit the boy and the boy fell to the ground.
Everyone stared at his body, some smiling, some in horror, some with sadness. Two people there were the ones who seemed the happiest about the boys death: his own half brother and a certain daughter of Athena.
They stood, hand in hand, as if they were the king and queen. They stood triumphantly over Percy's body. Annabeth and Ted, Percy's half brother, smiled.
But when Death started walking through the crowd, everyone parted for him. Thanatos usually collected souls while invisible so that he wouldn't be tricked.
They all wondered why he wasn't invisible now.
But Percy's body glowed slightly, and something rose out of it. It was Percy, but it wasn't. He glowed and his body was still on the ground. This was, by far, the closest that most of them had ever seen to a ghost.
Percy's sea green eyes scanned the crowd and fixed on Thanatos. Percy smiled. Everybody couldn't help but notice that he looked happier now than he ever had while he had been alive.
Thanatos stopped in front of Percy and held out a hand.
Everyone was shocked about everything. The demigods were just shocked by how Percy was acting, how Thanatos looked, and how Thanatos wasn't invisible. The gods were surprised by how he was acting, how Thanatos wasn't invisible, and how Thanatos was acting.
Thanatos was usually a god that was calm and pretty much just uncaring about what was going on.
(A/N I'm going off the impression that's given in the Son of Neptune. He's calm all the time, just doesn't really care much and does his job, even when he is chained up and stuff.)
He would just take a soul without emotion and go on. But now here he was— almost as if he was asking Percy to go with him.
Percy reached out without hesitation and placed his hand in Thanatos's. Everyone was even more surprised at that.
The pair turned to the crowd.
Percy spoke. "Thank you."
He looks to Thanatos and smiled. Thanatos smiled back, shocking them all even more. They disappeared hand in hand.
(Time skip a million years later)
A boy appeared next to Death. They both looked similar— with shoulder length black hair and bright eyes. Thanatos's eyes were honey gold and Percy's were sea green. They both had wings that glimmered in shades of blue, black, and purple.
They were beautiful, they both could be mistaken for Cupid by anyone who ever saw them.
Percy looked to Death.
"We need to talk."
Thanatos knew something was wrong. Percy would never act like this. He brought Percy to a room and made him sit down before sitting down across from him.
"What is it?" Thanatos asked, slightly worried. "What's wrong?"
"So I was out gathering souls and stuff, you know," Percy said, and Thanatos nodded.
"But I heard some stuff. Apparently there is another war coming."
"Yes. . ." Thanatos said.
"But none of the gods haven't been training the demigods how they're supposed to be. They've gotten lazy, not training enough. They're going to need help."
Thanatos nodded. "You think that they're going to ask us for help?"
Percy said. "I mean, I'm all for fighting, I guess. Or just guiding souls the Underworld or something. But if I have to fight knowing I'm fighting for them. . ."
Thanatos looked into Percy's sea green eyes. "It'll be okay," he said. "You can do this. There were still people who didn't betray you. . ."
Percy nodded.
"Hades was nice enough to let me come to the mortal world and help you out. . ." Percy said. "I can't really let him or Hestia fade. . ."
Thanatos nodded at Percy.
"Have they realized they were wrong yet?" Percy asked after a few moments.
"Yes," Thanatos replied. "They've been searching for you for a while now."
Percy leaned back in his chair, thinking.
"I'll help them," he said finally. "Now what's the plan?"

Thalia Grace was not happy.
She was sad that Percy had died. She was still confused by what had happened that day. She was angry at Annabeth, who she thought she had raised better. She was mad at Percy's half brother, who had betrayed Percy and led everyone into thinking that Percy was a traitor. Heck, Thalia was even mad at Artemis, who had voted for her cousin's death.
But no matter how much she didn't want to believe it, she knew that she was at fault. No matter how much she tried to blame everyone else, no matter how much she hated them all for what had happened, she knew that she had betrayed him too.
She hated Annabeth. She hated Percy's half brother, Ted. She hated Zeus. She hated Hera. She hated Artemis. But most of all, she hated herself.
And yet, she had stayed loyal to the hunt after all this time.
Thalia was still a hunter because she felt that it was her duty to be the lieutenant. It was her job. There were newer huntresses that weren't even alive when Percy had been betrayed now, she had to look after them.
Thalia was scouting the area with some of the younger ones at that moment. But they froze when they saw the figure with the cloak sitting under a tree nearby.
Thalia changed directions and went towards the figure.
As they got closer, even though she couldn't see the figure's face, she could tell that it was male. Her lip curled in disgust.
"Who are you?" She demanded.
"Thalia Grace," the figure said. His voice was deep and melodious. "It's been a long time."
"Who—" she stopped as the figure looked up. He wasn't handsome or anything like that that you would usually describe a boy or a man, but rather, he was beautiful.
He had shoulder length black hair and a regal face. But the thing that captured her eyes most were his eyes. They were beautiful sea green.
She could've sworn she'd seen a face similar to his face before.
"Percy?" She asked.
The girls behind Thalia looked at each other.
The figure smiled.
"Yes, Thalia Grace."
"Don't call me that," Thalia said. It was a habit for her to say that, and once she said it, she knew she shouldn't have.
The figure stood up and leaned against the tree, his arms crossed.
"Okay, Thalia Grace," Percy said, smirking.
"How are you here?" Thalia asked, ignoring him. "You're dead."
"Hades did me a favor. Let me work with a friend of mine. Yes, I am dead. And I've got some new powers and stuff too," Percy said.
The huntresses behind Thalia were staring at the scene in front of them in complete silence and shock.
"You look different too," Thalia said.
"Yes," Percy said. "But I know people who look better than me." He paused. "Well, one person." His voice had changed at the last line. More wistful, and his smile was the same wistful one he had had the day he died. "My death has been way better than my life ever was." He sighed.
"Anyway, I came to help in the approaching war. You wouldn't mind taking me to Artemis, would you?"
Thalia was in shock for a moment. So were the other huntresses, who were all staring at Percy.
Thalia shook herself out of it.
"Sure," she said. "Follow us."
Thalia turned and started to walk away. Percy's started to follow her, and the other huntresses recovered from their shock and followed them.

Artemis was setting up her camp with some campers.
She had sent Thalia and a few of the newer hunters to scout around.
"Milady!" She heard Thalia's voice. That was weird; they shouldn't have been back for at least five more minutes.
Artemis walked out of the tent to see that Thalia and the huntresses that had went with her were walking back into the camp with a male.
The male was talking to the newer huntresses but completely ignoring Thalia.
Artemis could see the other huntresses turn to see what was going on. The ones closest to the male were staring at him.
Artemis would've yelled at them for it if she hadn't gotten a glimpse of his face first.
He was beautiful.

(Time Skip because you all know how he looks)
Was that Percy?
That's what Artemis and the "older" huntresses were wondering.
Wasn't he dead? What happened to make him look like that?
Thalia stopped in front of Artemis. "Milady," she said. "He wants to talk to you." She walked off before Artemis could answer.
Percy finished talking to the girls and looked up at Artemis.
His face was blank and Artemis had no idea what he was thinking.
"Come in," Artemis said, gesturing to her tent. Percy nodded.
"Bye Lizzy, Alice, and Rose," he said before walking into the tent.
Artemis looked at the three girls. "You told him your names?"
"No," Alice, the new girl who had been frozen at age twelve, said. She had short blond hair and sea green eyes.
Artemis furrowed my brows in confusion.
Lizzy and Rose looked up at Artemis.
Lizzy had kind of short wavey brown hair and yellow eyes. Rose had long, dark red hair and green eyes. They were both frozen at age twelve too.
"You all can go," Artemis told them. She watched them run off before going into her tent to talk to Percy.
So what did you all think?
