Jake soared through the the air, feeling the wind in his fur.

But he stopped abruptly in the air when he heard a twig snap on the ground underneath him. He landed, silently, and walked into a bush to look at a large clearing. There he saw a wolf. A she-wolf, with no wings. He didn't think any of that kind of wolf existed anymore.

She was beautiful though. Grey fur, amber eyes. On her left eye was a scar.

He walked out into the clearing, tucking his wings closely to his body so they didn't snag and rip on any branches. The she-wolf looked shocked, but then became defensive with her head lowered.

Jake stayed calm, his gold eyes cool, "Hello," he said with a calm tone as he sat with his pointed tail around his paws.

She lifted her head, confusion in her eyes.

He smirked, "What did you expect me to do? Tear you apart."

A defensive look flooded her face again, "You would never be able to do that to me! I would do that to you!"

Jake laughed, "Ya sure! I'll let you think that!" He got up and started walking closer, but stopped when he heard a snarl.

"I'm not going to hurt you!" He paused, "What's your name?"

Her face softened, "Shasta..."
