Zendaya's POV

The doorbell rang

"Coming........"

"Oh! Welcome, Adam. You're thirty minutes late. I did not think you were going to show up" I added

"And turn a lady down? No" He replied

"I'm sorry I had to attend to something at work" He added

"Where do you work?" I asked

If you keep asking questions, we won't get started" He declared

"Okay. The Verandah's over there" I said

"I thought we were doing this in your room?" He added

What a mentality you have

"Seriously? Move, I've got a project to begin" I declared

It's already evening and the weather is kind of cold so I'm in a blue hood and gray sweatpants with a black bandana. Bandana is a part of my dressing, the only time I don't wear it is on dinner gowns. Since Adam just returned from work, he's still in his school clothes.

I led him to the Verandah

We sat on a yoga mat that I did not know was there.

"We should probably start with the definition of Homeostasis," I told him bringing out a big Biology textbook from High School

"I'll google that" He stated

"Google? You don't know it by heart? How did you get through High School?" I pronounced

"Of course I know it by heart, I just feel Google is safer," He said

That's what liars will say. I know he's not dull, he answers questions twice as much as I do in class.

"Whatever" I declared

My parents were back from the meeting they attended and I know it went well because if it didn't my mum's hair will be in a bun.

"Let's start with basic terminologies" He declared

"Okay, hand me your book" I stated snatching it from him before he could reply

"You have a terrible handwriting" I confessed

"Give that back" He ordered

"Wait a sec. I've been wanting to check your note for a while" I explained

"I agree with you. I will take handwriting classes" He said

"I'm sorry, I did not mean that" I expressed noticing his facial expression

"It's fine, people have said worse things. Besides, I know I know y handwriting is my flaw"

"Okay, let's get to work" I changed the subject

One hour and forty-five minutes into the project

"I'm exhausted. Can we continue this weekend or at any other time?" I enquired

"I'm sorry for wasting your time" He apologized"

"No problem"

"Are you free on Saturday afternoon?" He inquired

"Let's see .....um, ........"

"Yep, I am" I replied

"Okay, see you at two then" He declared

"I need this textbook," He said referring to my High School Biology textbook

"I'm not going to misplace it, "He said giving me a cute look

"First of all, you're not cute, secondly, you can have it. I'm not a monster" I replied

"After learning mortal combat?" He questioned

'It's for self-defense, not something personal" I explained

"If you say so"

"See you later. I have to run" He declared

"Sure" I added

On our way out

"I was just coming to get you" Kenzie declared

"We're done. I'll join you guys on the table", I added

Family dinner!!!!!

"Is this your sister?" Adam inquired

You're nosey

"Yeah, she is" I replied

"Hey, nice to meet you.I'm Kenzie and you are....................

"Kenzie!!!!!" I barked

"I'm Adam. The pleasure's mine" He stated

"Okay, you're Zen's........................................" Kenzie investigated

I knew she was getting to this point. My usual nosey younger sister

"He's my coursemate," I said sharply

I don't like topics like this because I'm not comfortable with them. My friends in Chicago are all involved in a relationship and I'm the weird one out. The thing is that I'm married to my books, I don't have time for guys

"Oh. I thought he was your........." Kenzie stated

"Kenzie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", I screamed

"Oh, I'm not her,.....whatever you thought. We had a project" He added smiling

This is very weird. Why is he smiling? Can this get more awkward? Although, I can't deny the fact that he has a wonderful set of white teeth. Unlike me, the number of times I've visited the dentist is more than the number of times I've been to the mall. I really love the mall. I've been switching toothpaste until I decided my teeth is a gift from Mother Nature.

"Adam you should be on your way. I'll see you tomorrow" I stated

When things were going according to my plan, this happened

"Zen be nice" My mum screamed

"Mum, he has to go" I replied

As she made her way to us, I knew what she was up to. Like mother, like daughter

"You can join us for dinner" My mum stated

I tried to wink at her but she did not get my message

"No, he has assignments to do, books to read and probably chores to attend to" I added sharply

"Zen's right, I should get going," He said

"I insist, I make the best pancakes" My mum added

"Who am I to say no then" He stated

You're better than this. Why should you b bought over pancakes?

"Okay. This way to the dining please", Kenzie said as she led him to the table

Oh! Darn

"There's no need for this mum" I muttered

"Charity begins at home" She responded

"How's school, Adam?" My dad asked

"It's been great so far" He responded

"How are your Parents?" He asked further

"They're fine" He replied

"Adam, can I ask you a question?" Kenzie inquired

"Kenzie don't talk with food in your mouth" I added

"It's fine, what's your question?" He added

I'm going to punch him in the face tomorrow

"How's Zen in school? I mean is she noisy or she's just cool?" She enquired

"So far, she's both an introvert and an extrovert. She talks when she wants to but most times, she's reserved" He responded

"That's interesting" My mum declared

"Can we eat in silence please!!!" I cried

"One more question please, does she have friends? Any time I ask about her friends, she doesn't respond" My dad interrogated

"I see her with Regina. They're close, she doesn't talk to anyone as she does with her" He added

"Oh, so you have a friend" My dad exclaimed

"I'll be in my room," I said and left with my plates of pancakes

"We're sorry" I heard Kenzie call

"Honey come back" My mum stated

"I'm not" I replied

Zendaya: I asked you first

Adam: Must you always be inquisitive?

Zendaya: You just asked me a question. You're also inquisitive

Adam: Just respond

Zendaya: Being inquisitive, is one of my superpowers

Adam: Okay

Zendaya: What are you reading??

Adam: Pride and Prejudice

Zendaya: Jane Austen, huh??

Adam: Yep, I read horror formerly but decided to change my genre

Zendaya: Cool

Adam: What are you doing?

Zendaya: Looking at the stars

Adam: Seriously?

Zendaya: Yep, I love doing that

Adam: To answer your question, I work in a Publishing house

Zendaya: That's great

Adam: Not every time. I started in High School

Zendaya: Okay, I'm off to bed

Adam: Good morning

Zendaya: Yep, it's past twelve. See you in school

Adam: See ya
