Heechul's Point of View
I yawned and stretched out my arms, before checking the time. After freshening up and bidding my friend goodbye, I shrugged on my jacket and stepped out into the brisk morning air, heading for Yoona's house.
Knocking on the door, my lovely girlfriend pulled open the door and gave me a little smile. "Hey," Yoona said quietly, ushering me inside before closing the door behind me.
"Hi," I moved forward and hugged her, her petite frame enveloped in my larger one. After a few moments of silence in my arms, Yoona gently wiggled out of the embrace, not meeting my eyes.
"Is everything okay?" I asked tentatively, as her head jerked up slightly as she looked at me. "Of course! Erm.. you hungry?" She grinned, pulling me to the kitchen as I frowned but left it.
"Pancakes?" I chuckled, clapping excitedly before standing next to her at the counter as she plated some pancakes, and she nodded with a smile.
"Were you up early making these? Why did you-"
Ting!
"Ah, that's my phone from upstairs," She sighed, wiping her hands on her top as she proceeded to leave when I stopped her.
"It's okay I got it," I smiled and jogged up the stairs, turning into her bedroom and glancing around for her phone, which I spotted on her dressing table. Walking over to it, I grabbed the device in my hand and paused at sight of the name on the screen.
Unread message from: Jungkook
Brow furrowing, my emotions battled internally on whether or not to read it. Finally giving in, I quickly typed in her password (which I'd seen her put in before) and clicked on the message icon.
Hey Yoona, Thanks so much for the pancakes this morning, they were tasty! And sorry I left so early, I hope you're alright. I was wondering if you were free this afternoon, maybe we could meet up at the park down the street? I'll be waiting there at 2 :)
What.
What does this Jeon kid think he's doing, I thought to myself angrily, my blood boiling at the words on the screen.
Hold on...
Thanks for the pancakes this morning
Sorry I left so early
Suddenly something amidst the bedsheets caught the light streaming from the window, and glinted. I reached down and pulled it out, and gasped.
In my hand was a gold watch. Unmistakably a male watch, because it definitely wasn't Yoona's. And I recalled where I'd seen it before. Everything clicked into place - that Yoongi guy's sudden outburst, pancakes in the morning when Yoona has always been lazy to cook in the morning, that text message.
Jeon Jungkook had slept the night.
Jungkook's Point of View
"Hyung, have you seen my watch?"
Rapmon hyung shook his head with his eyes still fixed on his phone, and I sighed, rubbing my bare wrist as I hummed to myself, walking around the dorm trying to locate my missing watch. Giving up, I padded into the kitchen where Jin and Yoongi were stood having a discussion.
"Jungkook-ah," Jin smiled warmly and I smiled at both of them.
Suga patted my shoulder, "You look good," He complimented and I shyly shrugged, and he grinned. I'd donned black ripped skinny jeans, my old timberlands which I hadn't actually worn for a while now, and a denim button up shirt, topped off with a black hat. (see above pic^)
"Are you going now?" Jin asked, and I nodded, waving them goodbye, and almost bumping into Jimin on the way out. "Oh wait! Manager hyung called, he wants to see you at some point today," Jin called out, and I shouted an okay back before turning back to Jimin.
"Oh! Have fun Jungkookie," Jimin chuckled, and I ducked away from outstretched hand as he went to knock off my hat and ruin my hair, with a laugh. "Where are Hoseok and Taehyung?"
"The three of us are playing video games," Jimin smiled, heading back to the room.
"Damn," I pouted, wanting to join them but then remembered who it is that I'm going to see. With a smile, I left the dorm.
My foot tapped against the ground impatiently, as I checked my phone. There was no sign of Yoona, and no new messages in my inbox. With a sigh, I proceeded to leave thinking she was busy, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. My smile returning, I quickly turned around...
Only to be met with a fist hurled into my face as pain blossomed from the bottom of my face upwards, starting from my jaw where I'd been hit with brutal force. I groaned, the painful feeling spreading throughout my face, as my gaze shook before falling on the angry face of none other than Heechul.
"No!"
Yoona grabbed his arm as he went for another punch. "Stop, don't resort to violence," She begged, and his arm dropped to his side, his anger remaining in his face and stiff posture.
"Jeon Jungkook, I meant it when I said stay away from my girlfriend," He snarled through gritted teeth. And all of a sudden, all my niceness disappeared. I was, quite frankly, sick of seeing his presence.
"Why? Are you worried something happened between us last night?" I smirked, taking in both of their expressions changing to surprise as Heechul clenched his fist. He clearly didn't expect me to bring it up first, certainly not to stand up to him.
"Please! Stop," Yoona hurried and stood between us, facing me with pleading eyes.
"Move Yoona," Heechul growled, gripping her wrist tightly.
"Don't you dare hurt her," I clenched my jaw, shooting another round of sharp pains up the side of my face but I ignored it. Heechul chuckled slowly.
"Oh, I wasn't the one who hurt her Jungkook, that was you," He smiled with victory as he watched my face fall at this truth. I couldn't deny that statement whatsoever.
"Yoona, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll keep saying it until you realise that I still love you so much and we can be much better together than with Heechul, please Yoona-" Words rolled out of my mouth like a runaway train, but skidded to a halt when she let out a sob.
"Don't do this everytime..." She whispered, and my heart cracked. Again.
"You promised you wouldn't leave me," She muttered, still not looking at me, and I noticed the truth just got more painful to hear every time it was said.
"Heechul was there for me when you weren't," She sniffed, and Heechul pulled her body close to his side, kissing her temple. I shrank back, my mind going blank.
"I can't just leave him when he cares for me..." She sniffed again, wiping her eyes. "And you know it won't work when you're an idol and I'm nobody."
But it would work. I would make it work, Yoona. But the words stayed in my head, my mouth not moving at all.
"Please Jungkook, please just...go. Please," Her voice broke and that was when realisation struck. Yoona will never be mine, no matter how hard I try. All I felt was numbness as I watched Heechul pull her into his arms as she sobbed into his chest, his hand rubbing her back to sooth her. Before I knew it my feet were moving, running, running away from the sight. Running away from them. Running away from her.
"Oh wait! Manager hyung called, he wants to see you at some point today."
I sighed but trudged up to the Studio reluctantly, seeing as I was out anyway. Besides, I knew the others would ask me questions when I went back home and I wasn't ready to face them when they had such high hopes of Yoona and I being together.
Heaving another hefty sigh, I knocked on the Manager's office door, which was followed by a grunt to indicate I could enter.
"You asked to see me, Manager hyung?" I sat in the chair opposite his desk, and he nodded.
"I'm going to get straight to the point, Jungkook. Do you remember what you were told when you first joined us?"
We were told a great number of things, so I wasn't sure which he was referring to. "Er..yes?"
He sighed, before continuing, "Jeon Jungkook. You're young male idols, and unfortunately for you, you can't date. Was this not made clear to you?"
A sinking feeling settled in my stomach as I realised where this was leading. But, my Manager didn't even have to worry about it anymore.
"Yes, it was."
"And this includes sleeping over at one of our staff members' houses which you did last night, and includes meeting up with her which you did today. Do you know what will happen if fans catch you?"
"True fans would understand and be happy for me," I gritted my teeth. Why was I even fighting regarding this issue anymore when it didn't even matter?
"Jeon Jungkook, you know full well the vast majority would kick off-"
"It doesn't even matter Manager hyung!" I stood up angrily, kicking the chair as the man sighed.
"Remember what I said, Jungkook. You can go now," The manager motioned for me to leave with a wave, and I just walked out without giving him a goodbye.
Reaching home in no time, I ignored the calls of my fellow group mates and headed straight for the bathroom, locking the door and slumping against the sink. My gaze looked up into the mirror, reflecting the mess back at me. My jaw was turning purple with a new-forming bruise, and my eyes were tired and sad. My hair was no longer the slick brushed style it usually was and was now a mess, with my hat absent completely, not that I cared where it was.
I didn't care what anyone thought of me, I didn't care that I was a man and should be strong, and I didn't care that someone was banging on the door asking if I was okay - I let my head fall down with my chin almost touching my chest, and let the tears fall.
