Reba went to see Lylah everyday and spent as much time with her as she could. When her breathing problem were solved she was able to come home for the first time. No one had met her yet.

"We can finally take her home today Narvel." Reba squealed. "I know!" He said just as excited. "Pecos is going to love her." She said. "He'll have to be careful." Narvel told her. "I'm no letting him hold her." She replied. Narvel nodded his head I'm agreement." You could hold her and put him on your lap?" He suggested. "Yep!" She agreed. "Problem solved." He said happily. "She is so stinking cute! Reba said staring at Lylah. "And she's ours." Narvel added. "That's the best part." She agreed laughing. "Sure is." He said wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and kissed her cheek.She leaned into him and they watched as the nurse checked Lylah's oxygen level to make sure she was okay to go home."She is all set to go home." The nurse said. Reba looked at Narvel and squealed in excitement. The nurse handed her to Reba. Reba looked down at her and kissed her forehead and kissed her cheeks repeatedly. "She is my new favorite." Narvel said. "Mine too." She agreed. He laughed and kissed her temple, Reba looked up at him and smiled. He smiled down at both of them. "This new us is my favorite." He said.Reba kissed him and said "I love you." "I love you too" he replied "and you." He said kissing his daughters cheek.

Right after that, Shelby walked into the room. "Are we ready?" He asked. "Do you want to hold your sister?" Reba asked standing up. "Oh, no I'm good." He said hesitantly. "You can do it baby." She encouraged. "Uh, I'm okay" he told his mother. She handed Lylah to him anyway.He took Lylah and made sure he supported her head. "So what do I do now?" He asked scared. "Talk to her." She answered "Uh,okay." He said. "Hi baby." He said nervously. She yawned and blinked, looking up at him. "She opened her eyes mom." He said excited. Reba laughed and walked over to him with her onesie to go home in. "I love you Lylah." He said. Reba gently took him and changed her into her tiny clothes "She is perfect dad." He said. "I know. Words can't describe how happy I am to have both of you." Narvel replied."Thanks dad." Shelby nodded."No problem." Narvel replied.

Shelby walked over to Reba and hugged her. "What's that for?" She asked holding Lylah up and inspecting her onesie. "Does a son need a reason to hug his mama?" He sassed. "I guess not." She replied. "I'm just really proud of you." He told her. "For what?" She asked curiously. "You just had my baby sister. That's freaking amazing!" He said.Reba laughed and hugged I'm back. " I love you so much mama." He said. "I love you too." She replied, kissing his cheek. Narvel took Lylah and said "let's go home." "Babe, we have to put her in her carrier remember?"
She laughed. "Yep." He replied. He put Lylah in the carrier. Reba sat in the wheel chair, and Shelby put the carrier in Reba's lap. Reba was making funny faces at Lylah he whole way to the car.

"Is she still awake?" Narvel asked from the drivers seat."Barely." Reba replied smiling down at her daughter. "You haven't stopped looking at her haven't you?" Shelby asked. "No." Reba giggled. "I did the same thing to you bud." She added on. He smiled and shook his head...mothers.

"Welcome homeLylah Elizabeth."Narvel said. •I don't want her to be passed around" Reba told Narvel. "Your sister and your mama are here, good luck with that sweetie." He joked. "I don't want her to get sick." Reba said. "I know you don't babe, but I can tell you they all are going to want to hold her." He told her. "I know, call me overprotective, but I don't want her to leave my sight." Reba confessed. "She won't mama." Shelby said."What should we do?" She asked at war with herself. "We'll take it slow." Narvel answered. "How? Everyone will be attacking us." She asked him. "It's okay honey, we got this." He told her. "But what if we don't?"she asked making herself worry. "Sweetheart don't worry." He said. "Narvel, it's iut daughter, e just brought her home after almost losing her, I want her to be safe." Reba told him. "And she will be." He told her. "Not if everyone crowds us and takes her." Reba said. "They won't take her, if you say no one is holding her yet, they will respect that." He said. "Are you sure?" She asked "I'm positive and if they don't, they would get to to hold her ever. "Alright" she reluctantly gave in."Can we introduce our daughter now?" He smiled. "Yes." She laughed Narvel got out and helped Reba out before grabbing the car seat. "Thanks."she said "Should we take her out of the carrier?" She asked. "Not yet, let's get in the house first." He answered. "Okay." She nodded as they walked towards the front door.Narvel opened the door for her. Everyone ran towards the door in hopes of seeing the baby.

"AUNT BA." Pecos Pete ran to her. "Hey buddy!" She said happily. "I wanna hug!" He whined. "Hang on buddy." She said to him as she carefully handed the baby carrier to Narvel. Shelby picked him up from behind and handed him to to Reba. "Thanks." She said wrapping her arms around Pete. "I missed you buddy." She said. "I missed you too." He said "is Lylah here?!" He asked excitedly. "she is with uncle Narvel." She answered. "Can I see her?" He asked. "Hold on, I'm not done hugging you."she laughed. "Please." He begged innocently, everyone was staring at them wanting to see Lylah also."I get a kiss first, then okay." She said. He kissed her cheek and she laughed."Narvel can you take him, so can get her?" She asked. Narvel and Reba swapped Pete for the baby carrier. Reba walked over to the couch and set the carrier down gently, pulling back the blanket to reveal a brown eyed baby girl. Everyone gasped and cooed over her. "Everyone meet Lylah, Lylah meet everyone." Reba said. "Oh Reba." Susie gasped "she's beautiful."Reba unbluckled the straps and lifted Lylah up to hold her, She sat down and cradled her and Narvel sat Pecos in her lap."Say hi buddy." Narvel told him. "Hi." Pete whispered."She's pretty Aunt Ba." He said. "I know." She replied giggling. Pete leant down and kissed her forehead. Reba looked up at her mama and Narvel with tears in her eyes. "She's perfect baby" Jackie said

Pete crawled off of Reba's lap and walked over to his dad. "Daddy, Lylah's here." He said excitedly. "I know buddy!" He said in an excited tone while picking Pete up.

"Who gets to hold her first?" Susie asked excitedly. "Uh, see that's the thing, We don't want her being passed around, I'm scared she'll get sick." Reba told them cautiously. "And with her breathing issues the doctor said to not have to many people hold her right now." She added. They all looked disappointed at this need, but the understood Reba and Narvels point of view. "Can we hold her once before we leave?" Jackie asked concerned. "We'll see." Reba told her, Lylah started getting fussy. "I'm gonna go Feds and change her." Reba said carrying her upstairs. "You stay there, I'll get her bag." Narvel told her. "alright."Reba replied as Narvel grabbed the bag

"How is here breathing doing?" Alice asked. "It's pretty much normal." Reba told them.."That's good." She replied. "Yea, I was so scared that they weren't going to let me take her home soon" Reba said. Narvel handed the bag to Reba and kissed the top of her head. She smiled and headed upstairs. "Hi baby girl." She said sitting in the rocking chair to feed her . Lylah yawned and scratched out. She was so tiny. "It's been a big day, I know." She agreed. Reba shifted in the chair and held Lylah in her left arm.

"Ready to go back down stairs?" She asked Lylah yawned and her eyes started to close. "I wish I could sleep." Reba joked. Reba walked over to the crib and gently placed her in it, covering her up she kissed her head and stood there watching her. "Hey." Narvel said wrapping his arms around her from behind and kissed her cheek. Reba jumped"you scared me" she whispered. "Sorry." He whispered back. "It's okay." She replied turning around and kissing him. "I can't stop staring at her." She said. "Me either. I missed her so I left your family down there so I could see her." He told her. "That's cute!" She kissed him a again. "Both of you are cute." He said against her lips. "So are you." She replied. "Really?" He growled pulling her closer. "Mmhmm." She replied. "Hmm." He said pulling away to aggravate her. "Get back here." She said wrapping her arms around his neck. "Our baby is right beside us." He teased. "I know." She stated. "So..." He said leading her away from the crib. "What?" She asked. "Nothing. Just getting out of view." He said nodding towards the crib. He slid his hands down to her hips, she pulls I'm by his collar and kisses him passionately. "I love you Narvel." She said. "I love you more." He told her. "I love you the mostest." She replied. "It is not possible to love me more than I love you." He stated. "I beg to differ." She told him. "Really." He said trying to pull away. To shut him up, she kissed passionately. He placed his hands back on her hips to bring her closer. She kissed up his cheek,his hands moved to the small of her back. He kissed her and moved down her neck. At the perfect time Lylah started crying. He huffed and pulled away, they walked over to the crib together. "What's wrong baby?" Reba asked pulling her out of the crib. "I think she needs changed again." He gagged. "It's your turn." She said. He grimaced and gently took her."Thanks babe." She kissed his cheek. "Mmhm." He said already annoyed ."Oh c'mon, you love doing this." she joked. "Changing diapers, no. Helping my wife and daughter,yes. I also like what we were doing when she started crying, but that's a different story." He stated, putting Lylah on the changing table. "I liked it too." She laughed He laughed and started changing her."We'll just have to pick up later." "Yes we will." She agreed. He laughed and grabbed her butt as she walked past him. She turned around and stepped his arm. "Ouch what was that for?" He whined. "You know." She said smiling. "You have a cute butt, it's my job to grab it." He laughed. "Narvel." She gasped at his remark. "I only speak the truth." He said proudly. "Just finish the diaper." She said. "Why are you mad?" He asked. "I'm not mad. I'm just not patient." She replied. "She's done." He said. He gently put her back in the crib and covered her up. He gently kissed her head and pulled her blanket towards her chin. "Good night babygirl." Reba said. "Sweet dreams." He told her.

Reba grabbed the monitor and they both left the room. "What now?" He asked. "Wanna watch a movie downstairs?" She suggested. "What about your family?" He asked. "They can do what they want." She answered. "Oh." He replied mischievously. "Stop it." She joked. "Fine." He pouted. "We can't do anything of six weeks anyways." She told him. "What?! What didn't you tell me?!" He whispered. "Doctors orders babe." She said. "Alright." He pouted. They both headed down stairs.

"Where have y'all been?" Pake asked suspiciously. "With the baby."Reba answered. "that's not what it sounded like on the baby monitor." He said holding the living room monitor up. "If your asking if I love my husband, then yes." She said siting on the couch. "That ain't what I'm talking about." Pake laughed. "Then what are you blabbing about?" Narvel asked."You have a cute butt" Susie laughed while mocking Narvels words. "I guess I do." She sassed. "So what exactly were you going to 'finish' later?" Alive asked trying not to laugh. "I'm not answering that." She said. "Oooo!" Susie said. "Y'all leave them alone." Jackie scolded. "Thank you mama." Reba said."I hate you tell you, but if we hear y'all, we are purposly walking in on you."Pake told them. "We can't do anything anyway." Reba sassed. "Eww" Alice said. "You guys started it." She blamed."And you just finished it." Susie joked. "Girls!" Jackie said sternly. "Sorry" Reba said. "Where is the remote." She asked. "Right beside you." Narvel laughed. "Don't laugh at me." She spat. "And you can't blame it on baby brain anymore." Narvel told her."I just had your baby." She sassed. "I'll shut up now." He said. "Smart man." Alice said. LYlah started crying again. "I got her." Shelby said. Reba gave him a strange look and slowly nodded her head. He went up stairs to get his sister.

He walked back downstairs with her and sat beside his mom. "Hi Peanut." He said. She just stared up at him. Shelby laughed at her and he just kept blankly staring at him."How's it going?" He asked. She yawned ad started to fall back asleep."Why does he get to hold her, but we can't?" Alice asked. "He's held her before, I know where he had been." Reba said.Thanks mom." He sassed. "What?" She asked. "Nothin." He answered
"Aunt Ba!" Pecos yelled. "Shhh " she said not wanting him to wake Lylah."what is it buddy?" She asked quietly. "Can I sat on your lap?" He whispered. "Sure." Sure said. She pulled him up onto her lap and he looked over at Lylah."I wanna play with her." He whined. "She's too little." Shelby explained. "Oh." He said sadly. "Sorry buddy." Reba replied ."Can I play with you?"Shelby asked. Pete nodded his head and smiled. Pecos got off Reba lap and Shelby handed the baby to Reba. "Let's play outside." Pete said. "Okay!" He said excitedly. The boys ran outside followed by Pake and Narvel .

Jackie sat next to reba on the couch, reba smiled over at her. "Can I hold her Darlin?" Jackie asked. Reba looked torn by this question "Uh, sure." She hesitantly said. She felt like she couldn't say no to her mom. "Come here sweetheart." Jackie said taking Lylah, Reba carefully handed her over to her mother. "I got her baby." Jackie said. "Sorry." Reba replied. "Hi pretty girl, having fun with grandma?" Reba said looking at her baby. Lylah started to gurgle and whimper "Shh shh. It's okay honey." Jackie said. She settled down and started to get comfy. Jackie looked over at Reba and noticed she was totally asleep. Jackie laughed and Reba used Jackie's shoulder as a pillow."I guess mama is a little tired." Jackie told Lylah. "I don't blame her." Susie said. "Me either." Jackie agreed. "I can't imagine what she felt when Lylah didn't cry." Alice said. "My world and heart completely stopped." Reba mumbled. "Sorry." Alice said not knowing reba was awake. "It's okay." Reba replied. "I shouldn't have asked." Alice told her. "It's fine Alice." Reba reassured. "Okay." Alice replied.
