Reba was finally at the end of her pregnancy and she and Narvel couldn't be more excited to me their little girl.

"How much longer?" He asked sitting next to her on the couch. "About three weeks." She said Narvel laughed and said "I don't think you're going to make it that long." He said, she was huge."What's that suppose to mean?" she asked annoyed."They baby is really big." He said putting it as nicely as he could. "So your calling me fat?" She spat."No, that's not what I meant. I meant that your a lot more pregnant then they think." He said. "I feel like a whale"she said rubbing her stomach."You're breathtaking." He said pushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "Yea, breathtakingly fat" she replied."Reba, you're pregnant." He said sternly."I just want her out of me ." She whined. "You and me both." He agreed."Hi Lylah its daddy" he said putting his hand on her belly. She kicked him, since she was bigger it was a little more painful due to her surprising strength. Reba winced."She is so much stronger now" Narvel said in amazement at his daughter."Trust me I know." She said rubbing her side. "What does it feel like on the inside" he asked. "Weird." She replied. "The fact you can still live a normal life, when your creating one is absolutely amazes me" he said. "Me too." She replied smiling. "I love you" he told her. "I love you too." She said trying to lean over to kiss him.He connected their lips for a sweet kiss. "Thank you she said leaning against him."For what" He asked. "For sticking with me." She said "I know that the hormones aren't easy to deal with." She added on. "Your my wife and I I love you, fo course I'm going to stand by you. even if your hormones are all crazy." he told her.She smiled and he kissed her head while rubbing her belly. She put her hands on his and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning...Reba woke up to an empty bed and heard the door bell ring. She waddled as fast as she could to get to the door.Narvel had already beat her to it though. she heard her mama and sister's voices. "MAMA" Reba yelled from the top of the stairs. "Reba!" Jackie yelled back reba made her way downstairs and over to her mother. "hi baby"Jackie wrapping her arms around Reba."Hey mama." She said wrapping hugging her mama tighter."How's my grandbaby doing" She asked. "She's fine!" Reba said excitedly."did you come all by yourself?" Reba asked."No i figure you had enough room so I brought your brother and sisters." She said."Hi Aunt Ba" Pecos Pete said running to Reba."Pecos!" She said excitedly. She couldn't bend down so Jackie had I picked him up. "thanks mama" Reba said taking him into her arms.It was kinda hard for her to hold him but she managed.

"How are you buddy!?" Reba asked she was so excited to see him."Fine!" He replied just as happy. He looked down at her stomach and back up at her."She gotten bigger hadn't she" Reba asked. He nodded and smiled.

Reba laughed and felt a little twinge at the bottom of her abdomen, but chose to ignore it.Both of them felt Lylah kick and Pecos got really excited.Reba could tell that she was positioned really low in her stomach."Can I play my game with her Aunt Ba?" Pecos asked all excited. "Uh yea." She said uneasily.She waddled into the family room and sat down on the couch.He sat in her lap and faced her placing his hands on her belly.She started kicking and he started laughing. "You missed her didn't you buddy." Reba asked looking at her nephew. "Yea." He said laughing, she laughed too, but she could tell something was different.

All of a sudden Reba felt a Reba strong contraction hit her. And the same time so did Pecos when he was playing his game with Lylah.He felt her tense up and breath in."What's wrong aunt Ba?" He asked."Baby I need you to do me a favor." She said as calmly as she could."What is it?" He asked."Go get uncle Narvel." She said. he could tell it was urgent and carefully climbed off of her lap to find Narvel."UNCEL NARVEL, AUNT BA NEEDS YOU" Pecos yelled through the house and Reba just giggled at he sassy little nephew.

Narvel walked into the living room where Reba was."Whatcha need babe?" He asked. "Come here" she told him. I he walked over to her and sat next to her. She leaned into him and whispered "We're going to meet our baby girl today" He leaned back "What?!" He asked frantically."I'm in labor babe" she said."What?!" He asked even louder. He pulled her up and shooed her towards the door."Wait! What about my family?" She asked."Who wants to go meet Lylah" Narvel said.Susie ran into the living room."What do you mean?!" She asked."Are you saying what I think you're saying?" She asked. "I'm going to meet my daughter today" Reba told her ."Oh my god!" She yelled "I got things here! You get her to the hospital!" She said to Narvel."I want you all that the hospital" Reba told her."We'll come later." She said. Reba turned to Narvel "I don't think it's close to time yet. They're pretty far apart." She said."Do want to stay here for a little bit longer" Narvel asked."Yea, just until I'm a little closer." She said."Okay" he said and kissed her, "No PDA" Susie said "it's my house" Reba sassed."Yep, it'll be a while." Alice said sarcastically."Are you okay Aunt Ba" Pecos asked a little scared. "Yea baby, Lylah just wants to come a little early." Reba said."Where is she then?" He asked confused. Reba looked to Narvel for help on this question. Narvel knelt down to Pecos level and said "Lylah is still in Aunt Ba's belly, but she is on her way" he told him.Pecos nodded in acceptance, still not fully understanding. Reba winced and grabbed her stomach."Get him out of here." She said not wanting to scare Pecos ."Hey Pecos do you want to see Lylah's room" Narvel asked.He nodded his hand looking back at Reba concerned as Narvel led him away. Susie took Narvel's place on the couch next to Reba. "I don't want to scare him" Reba told Susie."I know." She said rubbing Reba's back. "How far apart are the contractions?" Pake asked. "I don't know." She replied."You haven't been timing them Reba Nell?" Alice asked."No they just started." She said."Well get to it girl" Jackie said. "I'm scared mama" Reba said. "Why little red?" Pake asked."Look I'll ale care of the timing." Alice said."Thanks Alice,but I'm scared to be in labor" Reba said. "That's the scariest part." Susie said."But it all will go away when you are holding Lylah in your arms." "I know, I remember how bad it hurt with Shelby" she told them."you know you can choose and epidural this time?" Narvel said walking down with Pecos.

"Hi baby"Reba took Pecos from Narvel and kissed his cheek."Are you okay Aunt Ba?" He asked remember because he saw her in pain when he left."I'm okay baby" she said as a huge contraction hit her. "OUCH", she groaned out.Susie took Pecos off if her lap and Narvel grabbed her hand. She was squeezing his hand so her that it was shaking."Good god that hurts" Reba breathed out. Pecos started crying because he was scared that Reba was hurt. "Oh I'm sorry buddy, I'm alright." She said in a strained voice, another wave hit her and she squeezed her eyes shut and held Narvels hand tighter. "I think it's time to go." Narvel said."Not yet" Reba said through her teeth."Why not?" He asked "She is obviously ready." He said. "I'm not ready yet, can someone call Shelby and tell him to come over" she asked. "Honey I don't know how much longer this baby can wait. I'll call Shelby but as soon as he gets here, if he can, we are going to the hospital." He said sternly. " NOT YET" Reba yelled and that made Pecos more scared."Sorry." She said."can we have a moment alone please." Narvel asked everyone."Sure, Pecos can you show us Lylah's room?" Jackie asked and the 5 of them left room."Reba I know you're scared, I am too. But we have to go to the hospital sometime. Everyone will be there and I swear I won't leave you.Hell you can even play with Pecos while he wait." He said."I'm so scared Narvel" Reba whispered."I know, but I'll be there and if God forbid something goes wrong I'll tell them to take what they need from me and give it to you." He assured."I can't do this Narvel"She said."Yes you can, give me one good reason why you can't." He demanded."I'm not strong enough" she told him."Why not, physically and mentally?" He asked."Both, and emotionally. If something were to happened to her, I couldn't go on" she said with tears in her eyes."Nothing will happen to her." He said grabbing her face gently. "And you are in great shape, unless there is something you aren't telling me?" "You know everything, I'm really scared" Reba admitted."You've done this before and we'll raise our daughter just like Shelby, with respect, love, and all the attention she deserves." He said.Reba smiled and said "Let's go have this baby" and kissed Narvel. "That's what I'm talking about." He said standing up. She was hit by another contraction."OWWWWW" Reba groaned out.She threw her head back while biting her lip and shutting her eyes. These were getting really strong.

When the contraction finished Narvel helped Reba up from the couch and she wrapped her arms around his neck."Ready?" He asked. She nodded her head and he kissed her forehead. "We're leaving." He said.All five of them came bounding downstairs.They hugged Reba and wished them all the luck in the world and told them that they would be there soon. "What about my delivery bag?" She asked."We'll bring it, y'all just get to the hospital." Alice said."Pecos can Aunt Ba get a goodbye hug and kissed" Reba asked.Pake picked him up and Pecos let her do everything, scared that he would hurt her." I love you buddy, I will see you later okay" she said."I love you too." He said and with that they left.

In the car Reba's contractions were really bad."SHIT NARVEL" She screamed.She was clutching her lower abdomen and he hand rest above her. She leaned back and groaned, she was miserable, and in pain. Not a good combination."We're almost to the hospital baby" Narvel said."Narvel this baby is coming now!" She yelled."She will be her in a hour or two Darlin" he said."No Narvel NOW!" She yelled."What the hell do you mean now" he yelled as the pulled into the parking lot."We don't have much time!" She said."We're here now" he jumped out of the car and run over to Reba's side. He opened her door and lifted her out of the car. He carried her bridal style until he found the neatest wheelchair.The nurse rushed over to them and Narvel gently set her down in the chair. She groaned as the pressure worsened. The nurse could tell it was close to time, but her water still hadn't broken, that was the pressure she was feeling.

They wheeled her into the closet froom and laid her on the bed.She changed into a gown and the doctor came in to check to see if she was ready. Narvel was by her side and held her hand. "Well Mrs.Blackstock, your water seems to not want to break." He said "What's that mean?" She asked scared."I'll break it for you, or I won't deliver the baby." He said."How many centimeter am I" Reba asked."About 7." He said "it feels a lot more because your water hasn't broken yet." He explained."Do want ever you have to do and when I can get the epidural?" she asked as a contraction was coming on. "Now."he said seeing her low tolerance for pain."Okay Reba I'm going to break your waters now" the doctor said . She nodded and Narvel held her hand tighter.He broke her waters and she let out a huge sigh of relief.The pressure was gone, but there was a new pain. She reached 10cm and there was no time for an epidural.

"New plan Reba, this baby is coming and is coming now. Get ready to push" the doctor ordered.He sounded serious so she sat up a little more and grabbed the bed railing with her free hand."Narvel I can't do this" she cried out in pain."I would take this pain myself if I could." He said. She cried out, tears rushing down her face."I can't do it baby" she cried."Do it for our daughter." He whispered in her ear, kissing her temple."Can she just walk her way out instead of my pushing her out" she asked.The doctor laughed, "I wish it was that simple." He said. Narvel pushed a piece of hair out of her face. She felt the urge to push and tried doing so," Stop for a second." He said concerned." I NEED TO PUSH" She said through her teeth. "You can't." He said. "Why not?" She asked. The monitor next to her started going crazy and she realized that that monitor was on her stomach... The baby's heartbeat."That's what I was afraid of." He said. Nurses rushed to the foot of the bed."What's going on?!" She asked scared, through the pain. "The baby's in destress, if you push that only causes my destress" the doctor said. "What the hell does that mean?!" She asked. "Doctor." The nurse said looking at something. She showed something to the doctor and he looked at Reba."Push." He said scared. She didn't need to be told twice, she pushed so hard that her back came off of the bed. She tried to rest, but he wouldn't let her."Again." He said in an urgent voice."What's wrong?" Narvel asked."The baby had the cord wrapped around its head." He said. "Reba I need you to push hard as you can on this one. I need to get the cord of of her neck" He ordered. She nodded her head and took in a deep breath. She pushed and again her back came off of the bed, she cried out in pain, but this pain was nothing to her if it meant her daughter's safety."The head and the neck are out, I can unwrap the cord now" the doctor yelled.The nurse rushed to him with surgical scissors. "It's to tight." He said. "Get me the clamps." He ordered. Reba felt like she was splitting in two but she watched in horror. "GET THAT DAMN CORD OFF OF HER NECK" Reba screamed not even realizing it. The cord was cut but she hadn't been delivered. Reba pushed one last time and the doctor helped the baby the rest of the way out. No cries filled the room.The nurses stuck the suction cup down her throat and and up her nostrils to clear her airways. Oxygen was put on and a gurgling noise was made before she cried and turned a bright pink
Both Reba and Narvel just started to cry out of relief.He kissed her and she flopped back and sunk into her husbands embrace. "Lylah Elizabeth Blackstock born April 10 at 2:37 pm weighing 6 pounds and 9 ounces." The nurse announced as she passed her to her mothers arms. Reba kissed her forehead and cried tears of joy.
