Chapter Thirty Five: I Never Do This

*******Kit's POV*******

He stares at me, cocking his head to one side, then to the other, his eyes narrowing a bit.

"What?" I ask him, feeling nervous, like he's dissecting me or something.

"Citrine."

I drop my jaw and stare at the beautiful man standing in front of me.

"How did you know that?!"

"It's...it's true?" June asked me, looking just as shocked as I felt. "That's really your name?"

"It is, but..." I paused to take a breath because I'm freaking out a little. "But nobody knows that. Even Mandy doesn't know that, and we've been friends for years."

"Really?" He asks. "It's a pretty name. Why don't you use it?"

"Umm...It's a stupid name," I correct him. "My parents only named me that because I was born in November, so Citrine is my birthstone."

"So if you were born in February, would they have named you Amethyst?" He asks me with a laugh.

"Yes. Which is why I have a sister, who was born in February, with that exact name."

He stares back at me. "You're kidding."

"Nope," I tell him with a shrug. "There's six girls in my family. Ruby, Pearl, Citrine, Opal, Amethyst, and Emerald. All named after our birthstones."

"I feel like you're just messing with me," June says with a laugh.

"I promise you that I'm not," I tell him with a shrug. "But you guessed my name...what was that about? How did you do that?"

"Oh. Umm..."

I watch as June reaches for the button on his sleeve and opens it, then starts rolling up his sleeve. Before he gets very far, a hand wraps around my arm and starts to drag me away.

"Hey! What the hell?" I ask, spinning to look at the person who was dragging me backwards. "Tae! What're you doing?"

"I'm making sure that you see the lights on the bridges," he tells me. "As promised."

"I appreciate that, but that was kind of rude," I tell him, trying to pull back on my arm to get him to stop.

He doesn't.

"Tae."

"I don't want you to miss it," he says as an explanation, as he grabs a bottle of something, and pulls me outside, then starts down The Hill towards the main road.

I have no choice but to follow him, because he has now entwined our fingers together. I look over at him, but his eyes are trained straight ahead. He looks determined. Why was he so enthused to show me the bridge lights?

"Tae..." I start.

"Yeah?"

"Why did you pull me away from June?" I asked him. "We were having a nice conversation."

"A nice conversation? With Jun-Hoe?" he asked me, rolling his dark eyes dramatically.

"And just what is wrong with him?" I asked, trying to pull him to a stop again, but he just kept walking and dragging me with him.

He didn't stop until we got to the sidewalk that followed along the edge of the river. He sighed as he dropped my hand.

"There's nothing really wrong with him," Tae says. "He's actually a really nice guy."

"Then why..." I raise my eyebrows in question.

"I-I..." He pauses to sigh again. "I was jealous, okay?"

"Jealous of what?" I ask, confused. "Why?"

"I...can we talk about this later?" He asks, his sexy, dark eyes pleading with me. "After we see the lights on the bridge."

"Umm...no. We can't. Tell me."

"Fine," he huffs as he turns and puts his hand on the railing, looking out over the river. "I was jealous that he was talking to you, I guess. And making you laugh."

"But why?" I ask, no less confused.

He looked down at his fingers curling over the railing, then at me. "I don't know. I don't have a claim on you. I'm not your soulmate. But when I saw you giggling at him, I instantly wanted to pull you away and keep you for myself."

"Tae..." I said, looking at him.

He sighed and remembered the bottle in his other hand, then pulled it up to open it and take a swig. "Ugh. Straight whiskey. I didn't mean to get that." He looks at me and offers me the bottle.

I take it from him and easily take a drink. It barely even burns and I know that I don't make a face at all.

"Woah..." Tae says as he watches me. "That's impressive."

"My family is Irish, dude," I start to explain. "They put whiskey on the gums of a teething baby, and give it to you for any little cough that you have. Plus, my family is distantly related to a pretty famous whiskey manufacturer in the US."

He's still staring at me.

"What?" I ask him, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"You're just..." He shrugs his shoulders and takes the bottle out of my hand, taking another drink before continuing. "You're an interesting person, Kit."

"Interesting, like you're trying to see if I'm going to start eating my own hair?" I ask him, quirking one of my eyebrows.

Taehyung laughed as he handed me the bottle so that I could take another drink.

"Interesting, like I think that I would like to get to know you better," he told me.

I handed him back the bottle of whiskey and cocked my head to the side, watching him. "I think that I could be amenable to that."

"Umm..." he clears his throat and an adorable blush grows across his cheeks. "I uhhh....I don't know that word. My English is still pretty basic."

I frown and reach out to touch his arm. "Oh, I didn't even think of that! I'm so sorry, Tae. Rude American, party of one, right here." I held up one hand and pointed at myself with the other.

Taehyung laughed and reached for the hand that I was holding in the air, then tugged at it and pulled me up against him. "You're funny. I like that."

I looked up at him. In my research before I came, I had read that Taehyung was 5'10, but he seemed a lot taller than that, to me. I'm 5'9, and there was definitely more than an inch difference between us.

Tae took the wrist that he was holding and set it on his shoulder, his eyes locked onto mine.

"What're you doing?" I asked him, my voice sounding a little breathless.

He shrugged and took another drink, then lifted the bottle to my lips and tilted it for me to take a drink, as well.

"I'm not really sure," he said to me. "I just wanted to touch you."

"Ohh...Okay," I told him with a shrug, moving my other hand up to place it on his other shoulder. "I don't mind it."

Tae sucked his lips into his mouth for a moment, then quickly quirked up one corner of his mouth at the same time that he raised both of his eyebrows.

It made me giggle. "You're cute, Kim Taehyung."

"Thank you," he says, wiggling his eyebrows at me now. "You're pretty, Girl Who Won't Tell Me Her Real Name."

I lean my head to the side as I look up at him. Tae leans down to set the bottle of whiskey on the ground, then he slides an arm around my waist, tugging me closer, until just a couple of inches were separating our bodies.

"If I kiss you, will you tell me your real name?" He asks me, raising one dark eyebrow over his gorgeous eyes. I'm kind of into how he talks with his eyebrows.

I snort and shake my head. "Hell no."

"Did..." he clears his throat and turns his head to the side, looking at the river for a moment, then turning back to look down at me. "Did you tell Jun-Hoe your real name?"

"I..." I paused, shaking my head.

"You did!" he says, staring at me, his eyes looking a little hurt. "You told him, but you won't tell me?"

"I didn't tell him!" I say. "I promise! He guessed!"

"How did he do that?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I have no idea. He was just about to tell me when you drug me away."

"I'm sorry," he said, looking anything but.

It made me giggle. "No you're not."

He shrugged his shoulders and his eyebrows at the same time. "You're right."

That made me giggle even more and I leaned into him as I did, so he wrapped both arms around my waist and pulled me even closer to his body than I already was. I looked up at him just in time to see him leaning in, so I tilted my head a little more and raised up on my tiptoes until our lips met in the middle.

If I thought that Kim Taehyung's lips looked soft and full before, feeling them against mine was...Damn he could kiss. I slid one of my hands up into his hair, wanting to see if it was as soft as it looked. It was. My fingers raked through it and I moaned against his mouth.

Tae's arms tightened around me even more, pressing our bodies against each other from our thigh to our chests. Every place that his body touched mine was tingly and searing and covered in goosebumps, all at once. I have never felt anything like it before, and I didn't want it to end.

When I felt the tip of Taehyung's tongue touch my bottom lip, I parted them to let him in and tilted my head a little so that he could easily deepen the kiss if he wanted to. He did. He moved his hands up to cup my face, his long fingers slipping into the edges of my curly hair as he pulled my mouth closer to his and licked inside of it, letting out a sex y-as-hell breathy moan before he pulled back so that both of us could breathe.

"W-Woah," Tae said as he pressed his forehead against mine.

"Why did you stop?" I asked him in between the breaths I was heaving in.

"I had to breathe, and so did you," he said with a sexy chuckle.

"I know," I said, pulling back from him and looking down as I ran my finger over his sharp jawline. "I just didn't want to stop."

"Kit..."

"Tae?"

"I never do this," he started, blushing a little. "I don't even know how to ask."

"Just ask it, Tae."

"Well...." He takes a deep breath, then rushes out the words, making them all run together. "Iwaswonderingifyoumightwanttotaketherestofthisbottleandcomewithmebacktomyroom."
